La voz de tenor más hermosa....que Dios te man tenga muchos años, con nostros maestro.
I suspect that people won't really appreciate this man's talent until he is gone. He'll always, to some people be the other one. In other words not Domingo or Pavarotti. I 'm glad I'm not a trained singer I can just relax and enjoy his interpretation. But his musical talents pales not into insignificance but something else when you consider what he has done for Leukaemia research. In ignorance I thought he just sang a few concerts and donated his fees how wrong can you be. His foundation is just beyond amazing. He sure did do it his way and I salute him.
I agree it's a shame if anyone thinks of him as "the third guy." One could detail the ways Carreras is the finest tenor, but that would miss the point of appreciating his unique talent as well as the unique talents of others. How lucky we are to have such wealth of beauty.

Я вообще особо оперную музыку не слушала, но в моменты безсознательного дома сама по себе могу дать протяжную Ааааавээээ Мааариииияяяяаааа или асооолясииииооооо...
и даже не искала эти песни и как то не думала что они оперные песни, потом как то на днях наткнулась на Хосе Каррерас послушала и поняла что мне оказывается и оперные песни нравятся. Увидела Паваротти рядом с Хосе К. и тоже послушала тоже спокойно слушала и даже не было мысли что это скучно.... наоборот поняла что оказывается оперные композиции раскрывают человека и помогают быть самим собой. Жаль что у нас в Казахстане не найти сборник оперных произведении. Оперный театр есть в Астане и я даже не знаю какие там есть исполнители. Наверное никогда не интересовалась. Но на концерт Хосе Карераса сходила бы с большой радостью. Его исполнение дало мне понять что моему слуху оказывается нравятся оперные произведения.
