I want to do this on my 75 c20 instead spending alot of money on a holley efi. My concern and experience with cold air is the engine radiant heat heating up the tube.

I cant stop looking at how bad the hose clamps look need to have them straightened out. Huge eye sore in such a nice engine bay! Lol

At the time in the studio were you sponsored by Spectre? I currently in buying the same setup for my 65 Impala SS but have seen videos on here that prove not worth it

I've always been happy with the intake setup, never any issues with it. I have never been sponsored by Spectre Performance, but would love to be!

HEY RAD! did you ever install the system in your SS? I have the same car - 327/2004R-4.11 posi. Installed the funnels about 3 years ago, just getting to piping to the air cleaner now. Anything Ram Air should be worth something, this should feed way more air than hood mounted GTO style scoops - the funnels are right at the tip of the brick 😅

What about those days when it’s pouring outside, would that have a negative effect/impact?

It's best to put a 3 small holes in the low spots of piping or hose for rain water I'm running ram air on a g body cutlass

The individual tubes and the headlight fittings are available through Spectre Performance. The air cleaner housing was something I modified and fabricated. I think the basic air cleaner was also available through Spectre Performance.

What i'm interested in knowing is: Does it make a difference when the engine is at peak heat, heated the engine room and you are trying to accelerate?
I have a 454 in a Camaro 67, and it feels like it's way more dull after it's gotten warm. It is way more responsive when pulling out the driveway, versus accelerating from a stop after getting warm. seems to me it's being choked by the hot air under the hood.

I don't see any performance differences when the engine is hot vs cold.

Might need to retune the air and fuel mixture in the carburetor? I’ve seen a lot of bad reviews about these set ups. But wonder if that’s all you need to do?

Gonna be honest fowl play looks like there is no real cold air intake except for what there has always been which is a carb scoop that you cut holes into the hood so it sticks out and gets true cold air

The individual tubes run to the high beam headlights that have been replaced with a bezel made by Spectre Performance.

@@castleworksmotorsports4611 were you able to change the remaining lights to a combination high/low beam? I have a couple of options on my car, either use the headlight bucket or I have factory openings in the inner fender well. I like the fact that you used hard pipe for routing. The black slinky type of hose I've seen others use looks too generic & cheap.

I did not do any before and after dyno testing with this setup, so it's difficult to say.

I did not do any dyno comparisons before and after the installation. Cooler air though will always be a step in the right direction for HP gains.

The problem with this system is that if you pull the filter after a year - + or so of driving, you'll see that 90% of the filtration is only at the areas of where the pipes come in, concentrated dirt in only those areas, and not utilizing the entire filter. Your carb can only suck in so much air and the double intake pipes may overkill to boot. A single, large, high flow filter would probably be better as well as using the entire "K&N style" filter. There's a video of a guy showcasing this point.

Guess you gotta rotate the filter each week 😂
