When I was a teenager and just got my license and my Plymouth with the solid lift 273 V8 I asked my dad to get me one of these. He ended up talking me into a dual version because he thought one cone filter wasn't enough for a V8. Honestly looking back it was overkill for a 5000 RPM 273 with a 600 cfm carb and the single version would have likely run better. It sure looked crazy though.
Well this kit claims its only good for 600 cfm and i run a 750 but honestly who knows how they do their math. I dont think single or dual has much as an impact on performance as much as it is the plenum design its self really, with velocity, air turbulence, etc.
@@EfurdGarage Yeah the plenum design is different on the smaller single one, my old small engine would have definitely run better with the single setup because of the way the single version necks down like a velocity stack. The dual version has basically no restriction and ran worse at low RPM than a lot of other air cleaner assemblies I tried.
i would have to disagree. But really this is no different then a 14" air cleaner but a little better because its not directly above a heat source and its not air tight under the hood so it most likely gets better air then most carbs
@@EfurdGarage after doing it on a Dyno. I've seen it with my own eyes. Cowl induction is the way to go. A stock breather with the hose has always ran to an outside air source unless you go back to the 50's.

Nice review. Sounds like it was quite a headache.
Yea, not really worth the money you pay. I would have rather had a round 14" air cleaner if i had hood clearance
You sound really disappointed with the fit, finish and price of this kit. Hopefully, it will at least perform. Great honest review and video!
Yea for the cost i was not happy. been much cheaper if i could have just ran a normal air cleaner
Gotta love a hot air intake lol I've seen them make less power over stock on the Dyno

Keep doing a great job!!! You need to look into 'Promo sm'!
Thanks, i have gotten a few but not many.
