Focuses on the 'cross of cultures' that came together to form the Skinhead identity: The origins of the Skinhead scene in England, its roots in Jamaican Reggae and Ska (mid-'60s) to its revival and global impact with 2 Tone, Punk, Oi, and Hardcore (late '70s to present day). Features interviews and live concert footage by current bands across these various musical genres in the United States, England and Germany; discussing their viewpoints on Skinhead, its Working Class values, and its continuing relevance around the world.

I just went to the CHBC reunion back in August. Patriot played with all the old members and it was awesome. It was also my daughter's first show :) Eddie is a dear family friend, didn't know he was in this! Cheers!

many were! some were kicked out! a lot of punks or skins are just outcasts looking to belong to something. that's pretty much how I got into it... no military, but started working in my early teens and the whole "working class" thing was very appealing, even though most of my local peers only looked the part! lol

Met many lovers of punk and skin music in the military. Many still in bands. Life isn’t always a prescribed stereotype.
I was raised by skins in the military that got me into the music.

I agree w/ ss solodar! Fred Perry's and doc Martens are part of the Skinhead subculture since it was started in the mid 60's. It's the identity of a Skinhead with working class pride since the beginning so that bearded guy with glasses don't know what his talking about. Would a person who identified with the skinhead culture but was not working class be considered a poser or not if they identified with every thing else and appreciated the blue collar worker. I am writing a paper on true skinheads and would like to hear some feedback... OI from USA
i wouldn't think so....i think identifying with the working class means you respect honesty, hard work, staying on top of your game because you have no choice- you can't slip- that's just my opinion.

The term Skinhead started in the UK! It wasn't to do with race it was somewhere you felt you belonged if you where Black or White, then many year's down the line it went a total different route with some people the bad route not cool! 🤔🤢

Tighter small cuff Levi’s, bar laced docs, Fred Perry polos, Ben Sherman checked shirts, thin braces(suspenders) cardigans, Harrington jackets, flight jackets, P-coats, shin length wool collared coats! Came from the Jamaicans rude boys who immigrated to London! I'm a Metalhead have been since I was 14 years old it's either in your blood or its not, I had a lot of people try and put me down because of the way I dressed leather jacket / Battle vest tight jeans and high Nike shoes and of course Long hair stick to what's true to you nothing much has changed I basically wear similar clothing unfortunately my hair has got fine I used to have long thick hair oh well never mind having good health is the most important and lot's of Outstanding memories and lot's more still to come Fuck Yeah! 😂😉 LOL

I've never been really into usa's scene, but i always wanted to watch a documentary about the skins over there. i must confess this was really cool a bit more working class than the english counterpart they are more about fashion and looking good than proper blue collar working stuff.
