- In late 1988, talk of skinheads in the New York media was all the talk. There was the WABC-TV piece, then the Geraldo episode where his nose was broken. After the Geraldo show, there was a program called People Are Talking, hosted by Richard Bey, that brought trad skins on to discuss what skinhead culture is. This program features the founders of S.H.A.R.P. We must note that we are talking about the media here. There are going to be stupid questions, and of course the obligatory bonehead that is also invited to the program. Agnostic Front and Amy Miret from Nausea makes an appearence in this segment.

Hell Yea, Agnostic Front, I saw them in Dayton, Ohio I guess it must have been early or mid 90s. I saw TSOL at the same club the same week and I couldnt believe it, they were trying some metal crossover thing but looked/sounded Glam metal!

The biggest concern I have is if folks like us don't the other side will. I don't know about where you're at, but in the States anytime someone says they are in the Klan or a neo-Nazi, every TV camera in the local area ends up in their face, no matter how much of a complete buffoon they are. When SHARP came out, that sensationalist BS is what they were fighting mostly. I think that in the end everyone in the video pretty much got frustrated and moved on. Happily, that also included the Nazi.
Amy was really cute and extremely well educated for not having any formal education (yet to be confirmed).

she’s a professor a practicing physician assistant. at the time of Nausea im pretty sure that she had some undergraduate education.

I admit I had to think about that for a second, because normally I would have an issue with that too. But in the case of their older songs I wonder if that would be them following the trends or just being a natural part of the scene. When punk evolved into thrash, a lot of what made up that first NYHC scene, including AF, melded the two genres to begin with. DRI was famous for that. "Something's..." I might have to agree with you about, but I can think of a few Hatebreed songs that sound like AF

No, seriously. Your past posts are definitely on point. I would say that the problem comes from the fact that because of the sensationalism behind "reporting" on Nazis real skins still end up getting the shaft and twenty years after this video we still have to keep telling people that skins are not racist - and when I was in the scene the skins in the NYC area were mostly Hispanic!

Oisin Osborne I hope you're kidding. Do you even know what a skinhead is besides for what your parents and what the TV tells you? It's not about racism. Skinhead has two meanings, the subculture, and now being used more to describe racists, even though people can just say racists. Not sure if anyone realizes how brave the anti-racist skinheads and members of the hardcore bands who spoke out on the show were. They spoke to their beliefs and faced the consequences when members of the white power movement came after them at shows and on the street. I remember when Amy stepped in to help a friend who was being harassed by fascist skins. She fought the good fight despite getting repeatedly kicked in the face. Even after that she never backed down. None of them did.
Brave? Anti-racist? Get a grip! Antifa, democrats, liberals and sharts are the biggest racists that have held down black people, Hispanics, poor whites and everyone down for the longest time. Don't go by their words go by their actions. They will always claim to be "anti-racist" but their actions are totally opposite. They're liars and deceivers.

You just have to assert yourself beyond the discussion. In the end that's the only thing anyone respects. Beliefs are fine, but what good are they if we just talk them and not practice? The more you and your crew puts yourself out there the more people will see what is real and what is not. No disrespect to you, but I think we tend to forget that since we spend much of our time in front of this 21 century boob tube.
I agree with you. But where I disagree is that "people will see what is real an what's not". People are stupid as fuck. People are conservative, narrow minded and easily manipulated. This can happen if one of the parents is white (or an ancestor) or if the child is an albino. So, yeah, a white puerto rican is one who's got white ancestors (more likely white spanish) who passed on their genes. And that's if we're only talking about colour of the skin. Otherwise, there are other physical characteristics.
