I watched this when it originally aired and as a 14 year old growing up in a small West Country town found it to be quite frightening. Interesting to watch it now, in my 50's, and re-evaluate the message it was trying to portray. Thanks for the upload.
well you weren't lying about the quality ( i've still got a few tapes like that ) but what a great upload. Really gives you the feeling of looking back in time to a past era
I saw it as a play in the eighties by the Landestheater Tübingen. It was really impressing. They hired an old factory basement and it was a little bit of a scary feeling when the actors walked through the audience in their Skinhead Gear.
As an 11 year old in 1982 I remember being super impressed by the bad language and being thrown out of school the next day for repeating most of it.It was an educational documentary to me in those days.
The Irish song at the end, if anyone is interested, on his ghetto blaster is "as I roved out" by Planxty ua-cam.com/video/bAu66V67hWs/v-deo.html I know this film is dated, and a bit cheesy and naff, BUT Is it just me, or when you go to look at films about skins, like this one, it is always portrayed as being really shit, negative, and drably aggressive? Always from the 'liberal' 'progressive' "if only we could all just get along, as we replace you" point of view.. everyone's an ill educated frustrated racist Nazi weird kind of nationalist. And they never address the real problems, of what caused them to be angry.... Its not nice when you cant get a job in your own town, because the government has imported, cheap labour from elsewhere, and wants to see the back of you, though your forebears have built this place for generations, and fought wars for this life, to be better for you. And this ISN'T the immigrant peoples fault. This basic point is never addressed properly. its good and a first to separate oi from oi boneheads nazis. that not all oi bands followed a nazi ideals Funny to see the actor who is playing The Man Being played by the same actor who played the Italian fascist in Allo Allo

@@SI-cd7xs And they listened to ska and reggae and got on famously with the Jamaican Rude Boys. Too many inconvenient truths and uncomfortable facts to try and claim the original skins for the left or for the right. This was brought about by the N.F. sponsored Rock Against Communism who saw in the skins and disaffected white youth in general, a major recruiting opportunity.
