It’s an old Japanese tradition to repair broken bowls with gold, because they see it as turning something broken and imperfect into art and something more beautiful than before.
Pyrite is “fool’s gold” because it looks like something valuable, but in reality it’s not.
This person was abused and damaged, and she thought it made her worth less to the world. But someone taught her, like with the bowls, to see her scars not as imperfections but as something that builds character.
But she took it too far, and instead of allowing herself to heal and move on, she continued to hurt herself more and more because she thought it would make her more special. But like Pyrite, it’s only an illusion of worth, and she was only causing herself to suffer.
In the end she just ended up losing herself in the illusion of perfection.
it is called kintsugi for anyone who wanted to know! (the japanese art of repairing broken objects with gold)
This is how I feel. EVERY SECOND OF EVERY DAY. And I don’t care.

I’m gonna state my theory on this song, because I’m just gonna do that
I interpret that this girl has been hurt, many many many times, leaving ‘cracks’ on her skin. She believes initially these are imperfections and tries her greatest to escape them. Something, however, drives her to see ‘gold’ in the cracks, and believes from then that they are not flaws, but something to be embraced. Rather than letting scars heal and moving on, she ‘reopens’ them and convinces herself she needs the ‘gold’ in order to be perfect, leading her to eventually break her own mind with her illusion of perfection
yEA-
tbh?? it fits since the song's named pyrite girl
pyrite is something that's called "Fool's Gold", which refers to an illusion of seeing something as valuable when it actually isnt
I totally agree with you. After listening to the song I didn't see a story yet a representation of someone who feels fake, someone who has viewed themselves as broken and believing people liked it. A person so lost within their own scars and cracks that they can't heal.
I hate that I relate to this theory
Damn, that almost went positive...and then as well as embracing it, she wouldn't let her scars heal. She went from one extreme to the other.
But some things aren't meant to be embraced in the first place. (At least not beyond accepting what happened and trying to move on.)
@@enchantedpastellix8829 It'll take time, but as long as you realize what you're doing is not beneficial to yourself and you try to stop, you'll eventually stop. It might take extra help, but I'm rooting for you if that makes you feel better! You've already made a crucial step if you've realized what's wrong!
i don’t think anyone’s mentioned how even though the main character often mentions gold, the name of the song is pyrite girl- particular emphasis on pyrite, also known as fool’s gold. pyrite can often be mistaken for gold, as ‘fool’s gold’ may suggest, so maybe this could represent some form of gap between how the main character views themselves and the reality of their condition. throughout the song, the main character seems to struggle at length with this gold that they’ve somehow been left with, along with a perceived brokenness in their psyche. however, by the time we get to the final chorus, they seem to have attempted to almost embrace that which’s been haunting them, and at first glance, it could almost appear as if they’ve welcomed it. however, just as pyrite / fool’s gold could be seen as potentially ‘deceptive’ or otherwise not as it first seems in nature, with a bit of a closer look at the lyrics, the main character doesn’t appear to be enthused or very content with what they’ve become at all, instead seeming as if they’ve spiraled out of control and been consumed by the marks of what was left behind by someone, or something, from the past. in a way, they almost seem manic by the end of the song, so maybe what they’re attempting to portray themselves as is more positive, or ‘worthful,’ than the true state of the situation? i dunno > .>
yay
I like how the chairs she sits in resemble both waiting room chairs in a pharmacy or therapist's office, but also the chairs in a stadium, like she's sitting alone because no one wants to go to her "show" anymore/consume the art she made with her trauma
noticed something!! the song's lyrics start being more in english instead of japanese at the end, which could also hint at the fact that her purpose for "repairing" herself with gold starts to stray from the practice's actual purpose over there in japan! not sure how to put it into words!

@@tigercat1080 She actually usually listens to country music! Im surprised and happy she listens to this producer (which is one of my favorites)
I see that as a win. Now you can listen to it without earbuds, or even better, in the living room.
This song is real gold, not just pyrite. To add to what everyone else is saying, with the 'days' adding up to 15 years, I feel like the implication is that she grew up in a physically/emotionally abusive household and saw herself as worthless with those flaws reminding her of her 'mistakes' which will sound familiar to anyone who's lived with a gaslighter.
But then she gets help, and people want to help her fix herself - probably seeing therapists/psychologists. That's where I was told about kintsugi too! They tell her fixing her flaws makes her more beautiful, so she does, but it seems like the only meaning in her life as she still feels like a ghost. She either went back to the person who hurt her previously to show them how she's improved or found someone similarly abusive, to continue this 'improvement' and redefine herself. Until she's completely covered in gold, with nothing but her flaws left.
For those who are damaged - get away from the toxic people in your life, you'll never make them see your worth - usually they're the ones who were actively destroying that worth to make themselves feel better. Even perfection won't change that - you can always fix yourself, never give up on that journey no matter how hard it is. It really does get better, so stay strong!
Thanks for this song, it's a real bop and helps me see how far I've come!
Absolutely iconic! Personally I take this as a person who has read a little too much into the art of imperfection, and the stereotype(?) of "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" so instead of just stopping at that abuse, she's almost delved into more abuse/allowed herself into more harmful scenarios (this could be self harm, but as well as BPD's known symptom of risky behaviors) in order to be "better" due to her trauma. Kintsugi(probably spelled that wrong) isn't "covered in gold", it's only fixing/making better of what was broken. Her saying she's covered in gold is her missing the point of it; she's no longer fixing/making the best. She trying to be the best at being the worst/most hurt/most broken and that itself it beyond repair.
*has bpd
*relates to the song kinda
uh oh !!!
I agree with you.
Damn dude that was fucking DEEP. But it made total sense to me
You spelled the romaji correctly, don't worry! /gen
(TW: Self Harm)
Throughout the song the Pyrite Girl becomes obsessed with the idea of "filling in her cracks with gold." This is a direct reference to the art of Kintsugi in which broken and shattered pottery is repaired by filling in their cracks with gold. This is supposed to represent the beauty in recovery, however it seems Pyrite Girl takes this idea too far and becomes obsessed with creating more "cracks" to make herself even more beautiful. I believe the connection of filling in cracks with gold and recovery is a parallel to the girl taking medication. This seems like a stretch at first until you realize that Red Iron Oxide (1:12) is used in coloring tablets and capsules used in Pharmacies AND the chairs she sits in throughout the song are similar to chairs used within waiting rooms in Pharmacies.
After the first chorus, the lyrics start to describe her losing her memory likely as a side affect from her medication. Although it may seem like she wouldn't be happy about this, she goes on to purposefully harm herself from then on in order to create and excuse/reason for her to be prescribed more of the medicine. This is supported at 2:33 when the song says "It is my lifeline! Quit asking me why! 'Cause now I know I can be redefined if I get covered in gold." She is using her medication so she can forget about her mistakes and redefine herself into something new and as a result is becoming addicted to it.
Soon after we hear a girl's scream and the image blanks her out entirely with and X over her face. This is showing that she has succeeded in her goal of completely changing herself as she has killed the person she used to be. She goes on to say that despite reaching her goal of "Ascension" she is still unsatisfied and we can see that her mind is broken through the cracks of gold on her head.
There are some other minor details that may hint towards this, however I'd rather if someone sees this theory they rewatch through the video with this idea in mind and see if they believe it fits.
Your a genius.
Yup, genius... I'm gonna watch it again right now with all that in mind..

Pyrite is fool’s gold so maybe this’ll be about someone lying or fooling someone else :0
Yeah, that's a good theory!! Nice >:)
It could be she's had noticeable scars or cuts, but she sees it or "redefines" it as gold. Now she's addicted to covering herself in "gold" so both her and others will look at her in awe instead of pity.

For those in the future who question why the title is "pyrite girl" let me explain. Pyrite is a material that closely resembles gold but isn't, it's alternate name is "fool's gold" as many would mistake it for gold only to turn it in for money and end up looking like a fool.
I hope this helps someone in the future!
I find it interesting that the girl in the picture gets more vibrant as the song progresses, but the background gets darker.
This song made me think of what damaged artists think about trauma, suddenly all your pain and suffering from years ago doesn't seem like something bad that you have to forget, but something you can use to create art, stories, now it looks like a gold mine. The problem is that sometimes we take it too far and re open old wounds to use it for our art, never letting it heal because you start to convince yourself you need those horrible memories to be special, to be important. You see yourself as a character who needs those things to have a good story ,not a person who needs healing and love

Some of the lyrics (specifically “covered in gold” and the lines about being shattered) and the last image in the PV makes me think of an art which I forget the name of (kintsugi?) where they put gold in cracks to show that something broken can still be valuable or something like that.
Edit: Posted this like an hour before the description edit confirmed that kintsugi was the main inspiration for the song
ALRIGHT! So, with the description saying that this is about self harm and trauma, I think it's pretty clear what this is about. So, uh, TW for abuse and trauma. Also, note that I don't understand the Japanese lyrics, so I might be missing some details.
This girl was abused. Be it a family member, a partner or whatever, they really hurt her and her self perception. She starts to pretend to be everything she wanted to be (a healthy, flawless person, when she saw herself as broken and nothing but flaws). She forgot how to be herself, so she keeps the facade and can't understand why people dislike it, because she has this distorted perception of reality where she's flawless because she's the complete opposite of herself.
I want to highlight the line 'you left me covered in gold'. Her abuser somehow forced her to be who she's now (as in, forced her to hide every single little flaw). Then, it changes to '[now I know I can be redefined] if I get covered in gold', showing that she believes that she should be what her abuser forces her to be. 'I am made of gold' and 'completely covered in gold'.
Also, note how in the last chorus she alternates between calling herself perfect and the worst. She is, from her point of view, perfect, because she completely buried her true self and is now living how she was forced to believe she should, but at the same time she knows that it's all an act and she's this broken person.
Edit: English subtitles are up! And yeah, it fits this interpretation. I'd also like to add that when she says that she broke her mind, she then adds that she's made of gold. Since this is based on that tradition of fixing broken things with gold, I think this means that she believes that hurting and breaking herself is the only way to be perfect. I mean. She's been told that a lot, I don't blame her-
Edit 2: I realized that she mentions that she dislikes her cracks ('when I see a crack I want to scream') and later says 'look at the fracture left on my heart'. This could mean that she feels like she shouldn't have been damaged in the first place, and that it's her fault that she did.
Oh wow, i couldve never came up with that. Props to you for coming up with that

I feel like maybe all the scars and mention of being covered in gold and being redesigned may be referring to self harming as a coping mechanism which allows her to take control of her scars again and be “redesigned” as if she were covered in “gold” instead of blood.

First off this song is gorgeous
Second, I've been like this before. Experiencing so much trauma and not having proper methods to cope with it used to make me feel like I was broken and supposed to stay that way. Then someone (who isn't in my life anymore) tried to "repair" me, but only ended up hurting me worse. I developed a terrible coping method that stemmed from that person brushing off my flaws, imperfections, and trauma and calling me perfect. I used to think it was okay to be the worst of the worst, the "most broken" individual because that made me more perfect than everyone around me. I'm glad I figured out on my own that that was wrong, or I probably wouldn't be in a good place right now.

I love the polyphony you created for the voice, like "I'm nothing but a ghost, at the most" (1:35)
It sounds good and clear to the ear, it's like icing on the cake
Also, the fact that when she understands she can "ascend" is the moment where the pitch goes down (2:42), like she thinks she's getting better but it's the opposite, it echoes with the fact that she only uses red pigments at the beginning (red iron oxyde) and then turns to gold instead (but more likely pyrite, like @Mine3craftiscool said, the "fool's gold" ; she's lying to herself).
The moment she thinks she can ascend is also the moment she's negating her own personnality / appearence, and the followed art also portray this.
She's sitting like she's waiting for something and then stood only at the end after she netaged herself, I don't know what that could mean tho

it feels like it has a similar theme to "fools are attracted to anomalies" by UtsuP. Both songs seem to be about someone who is so obsessed with their trauma and issues making them "special" and better than the rest that they forget to actually take a step back and heal, and they forcefully induldge in their trauma to make themselves "better" and "deeper". it also reminds me of that one short story in the book haunted

TW for Dermatillomania/skin picking and abuse
So, I do have a theory for this song (granted this is a theory I came up with as I was first listening to it at the premiere, so it’s probably not that good) and I’m taking it kinda literally when it comes to some lyrics
So, this girl, which I’ll call Rin for now, is in an abusive relationship of some kind. She picks at her skin and has been doing this for a while, resulting in scars that she is greatly ashamed of. I think this specifically because of the first line “I don’t wanna look at the damage done to my face and skin”. Notice how it also mentions her face, not just her skin?
Regardless, she is being abused in some way (I’m leaning towards emotionally) and this person is making awful comments about her skin and her condition, which makes her feel like crap. But she can’t stop, not matter how hard she tries. The abuse from this person worsens and the skin picking turns into a coping mechanism and gets worse and worse.
However, eventually she starts to think that the “cracks” (scars/scabs) are beautiful in some way instead of awful flaws to be scraped away, as evidenced by how she says she’s covered in “gold”. (Id like to note that the song is called Pyrite Girl, and pyrite is called fool’s gold, so there’s probably something there)
You can see her progression from hating her skin/cracks to thinking it’s art throughout the song
I personally think this 1. Because RIP has already made a song roughly related to the subject matter before (Damage to Me, it’s a SoundCloud only song tho) and 2. some of what I talked about is kinda relatable/personal to me so that may or may not be just me wishing for content to relate to adsklskdsj

This song is literally gold, i've been obsessed and listening to it for 5 hours straight.
Literally pyrite
Can't wait for when we get the translations, I feel like there's some more insight within the Japanese lyrics. And Rin looks absolutely cute throughout the PV.

When I see a crack I want to scream
These circumstances are hurting me
Hey, come on, no

Truly, I want to try to live a fun life
With some red iron oxide

I don't wanna look at the damage left along my face and skin

Don't you try me!
Don't take it lightly!
I’m nothing but a ghost
At the most
You shattered my mind
One thousand times
I’m broken, yet somehow, I’m still alive
You left me covered in gold
I’ve been pulverized for the past five thousand five hundred days
shikashi, kurushī kurashi shitemitai
Promise me you'll stay when I eventually forget my name

Look at the marks!
Look at the fracture left on my heart!
Can you feel my pain?!
(Ratchuratchuratata)
crazened crazing cracks all over my brain
I don't wanna stop!
(Paruparuppa)
Look at what I’ve done with it, I made it into art!
Shining brightly!
There's no one like me!
I’m better than before
Gimme more!
It is my lifeline
Quit asking me why!
'Cause now I know I can be redefined
If I get covered in gold
How unsightly
Why don't you like me?
You know I shine the most
Not to boast!
I’ve broken my mind
One million times
Now not one mark on me is out of line
And I am made of gold
I’ve ascended
Just as intended
It doesn't quench my thirst
I’m the worst!
I’m out of my mind
The perfect design
Nobody can defeat me now that I’m
Completely covered in gold

@@barnacle9251 please help me im turning into the tale of king midas but im the one turning into gold
i'm glad you finally managed to fix your computer issues! this song most certainly will be a bop
edit: absolute banger here!!! also the last picture of rin slaps!!!!
edit the second: did anyone else notice that rin's hair gets more yellow as the song goes on? that's such a cool detail!!
I actually like how well the English flows into the Japanese and vice versa. Sometimes when songs do this it may feel a bit "Engrishy" or jarring, but when the Japanese comes in it doesn't feel out of place.
Now I know everyone talks about the music but idk crap about music, so can I just say how much improvement RIP has made in the art side of things. Go back compare corrosion to this and it's quite obvious that they're getting better really quick. I could list off things but you could also just look at the masterpiece here.
I would say I threw this into my music playlist, but that would be a lie. I carefully handled it, and lovingly slipped it into my music playlist, as to not harm it in anyway.
Ayoooo, time to log my reactions to the song before and after again!!
Before: The first thing I noticed right off the bat is the title. “Pyrite Girl”. If I remember correctly, Pyrite is also known as “Fake Gold” or “Fool’s Gold”, as its commonly mistaken for gold, and with the warning in the description I already have a bit of a theory in my head about this song! Tho, I won’t list it here because I really do not feel like typing that all out tbh.
Am very much so looking forward to this, tho!!
After: ALRIGHTY SO THE SONG ITSELF THREW OUT PART OF MY THEORY ALREADY JHYGTFGHJ
Alrighty, so, tHIS IS SUCH A BANGER WH-
I PUT IT ON LOOP HALFWAY THOUGH THE SONG HGFGHJ
Anyways, theory time!
*BEFORE YOU PROCEED: I will mention self harm, abuse and trauma a lot and describe my own experiences with it in some detail, mostly the emotional side. That's your warning, if your not in the right space to handle that, please read a different comment.*
So, taking part of my previous theory and just looking at the English lyrics (I don't speak Japanese, sadly-), I can tell how this song is heavily about trauma and self harm. As someone who has done that in the past and also draws stuff about that, the lines "I don't wanna stop. . . Look at what I've done with it, I've made it into art!" hit home for me. And look at the title. "Pyrite Girl", as if this girl is fake and hurting, and yet looks real and happy to everyone else. Damn, that hits home too. Now, as for the "being covered and gold" parts. . . This is gonna be hard to explain. So, pretty much this person who has hurt Rin (I'll use Rin as a stand-in for the girl in the video) badly and made her feel powerless, hurt and fake, hence "You coved me in gold". Now, Rin is getting power hungry from being deprived of a feeling of power for so long, eventually rising to popularity and fulfilling that desire in a not good way as a way of revenge (or as a trauma response). And she knows this. She thinks that "getting covered in gold" is a good thing and what she is supposed to do, thus the "I've ascended, just as intended"
That was probs very very scatted and confusing, but its very hard to describe-
Tis very good song, Rip!! I just over analyzed your song kjhuygtfhj-
It is after the premier, here is your reminder :D
I didnt even know what pyrite was until this song I-

pyrite was my favorite metal when i was little so this should be a bop
edit: did not dissapoint,,, i love it sm,,,
Same here, pyrite twins
Pyrite triplets
Mine was (and still is) steel. shiny. good.
i just wanna add something
kintsugi is usually used to cover existing cracks in gold, silver, etc. but if you notice in the beginning, the main character doesn't appear to have any physical marks on her skin until the gold is added. this could be emphasis that her perception of herself could be warped. or it could be showing that in the end, she was the one who broke herself. (like how the lyrics change from "YOU SHATTERED MY MIND" to "I SHATTERED MY MIND"
OK so I'm just gonna put my incredibly late theory here, and it's probably not too original but it's just how I understand the song uh
So this girl has been through some bad things, likely some form of trauma with a specific person, leaving 'cracks' on her body, heart and brain.
She fills in the cracks with 'gold', which I believe is a metaphor for her coping mechanisms. However, the song title is 'pyrite' girl, and since pyrite is fool's gold, the coping mechanisms she uses don't actually help her, they make things worse, but she can't see that.
This song hits close to home for me.
i looove the way youve tuned rin! i dont think ive ever heard her tuned quite like she is here tbh, its amazin! and i love the use of 2 languages, its just AAAAUAUAUA its so cool
thank u for the bop friend
Nice pfp, thanks for reminding me of Junji Ito manga at 11:30 at night

rip is such an amazing producer, i thank them for providing us with another bop
this song is so amazing! been listening to it on repeat for about a week now when i noticed that in the part around 2:40 where she says "but now I know I can be redefined if I get covered in gold" and it goes down, it kinda sounds like theres a scream in the background
ok so a lot of people are saying that the girl is a liar because pyrite is fool’s gold, but personally i think the girl is the one being lied to. the song keeps mentioning gold, but the title is pyrite girl. the girl is covered in pyrite, not gold (in other words, she’s being lied to)
I hate the fact that your songs get so popular but you don't have many subs, you deserve them
is no one gonna mention that chunky bass line. girl shes carrying. listen to HER. best part of the instrumentals imo, shes so funky!!
ARSON TIMMEEEEEE
And just when I wanted a RIP song using Rin!!!!
Actually same!
1. I said "arson time" cause I forgot what pyrite was and assumed it had something to do with fire and I thought the background in the thumbnail was flames at first
2. 69 likes haha nice
LETS GOOO IM EXCITED TO SEE R.I.P’S TUNING FOR RIN
I'm such a nerd and you calling a song about misusing a metaphor for gold "pyrite" really just 👌👌👌👌 fries my hashbrowns
I don’t know how I didn’t notice until now, but…
Her hair starts out a light brown; a very normal/natural color. It turns a gold-ish color as the song goes on, almost glowing. It seems very unnatural. I think it symbolizes who she was before (a natural being) and who she’s made herself into (artificial).
Edit: so apparently someone made the same sort of comment, oops. Reworded some stuff to make it more original.
Edit 2: I also love how she starts sitting and ends standing! Sitting is often seen as being stagnant and content whereas standing is being proactive, alert. She’s no longer content with things and is ready to leave (the world) at a moment’s notice
I love the instrumental on the pre chores(?) part. I like how it goes up and down and it sounds eerie and wrong like youre going down in a slippery slope. Pyrite girl is going down a slippery slope of harming herself to make her 'stronger'.
Also this song reminds of abnormality dancin girl in the best way like theyre both abt a person slowly going insane with a theme/idea in it. The difference is adg dies but pyrite girl didnt(i guess?) so pyrite girl still has some hope.
Очень классно! Приятно слушать, большое спасибо!!
Ayo box cat during the premiere where you at? #BoxCatSupremacy
Also this was really good! The pv was simple, but beautiful to look at none the less. And altho i have no clue what the japanese(?) is yet, it fits really well! The instrumental is catchy, and rins voice is just the chefs kiss on it all! It reminds me a lot of my friend to be honest, too bad he dosent listen to vocaloid too much- otherwise i would totally show this to him. And can we just talk about the effects? Those are c O o l!

YO THIS IS GReAT! I remember listening to RIP's very first song and commenting on it- it makes me so happy to see how far you've gone as a creator and this song is soo catchy!
now for my interpretation of the song, i had a kinda similar idea to other comments ive seen. i think the girl has been abused by someone close to her and has started to adopt everything they're saying. she's been abused for so long that her mind starts to gaslight itself and repeat all the things her abuser told her, even when they are not as present in her life anymore. she believes herself to be broken and ruined and feels like she doesn;t even exist anymore and has no thoughts for herself. this turns into resentment for herself, and at some point she discovers self harm. she realizes its a way for her to punish herself and get control over all the pain she's been through, because now she's inflicting it herself. perhaps her abuser has stopped being in her life but she's so used to the abuse she feels the need for pain and punishment, so she takes it on herself. i think the gold and cracks actually represent her cutting herself. she's taking the "cracks" in her psyche that her abuser caused and making them into physical marks onto her skin, which represents the "gold"; she's trying to fix her trauma by inflicting pain on her own body. she starts to find the blood and scars beautiful because they're a punishment for her and also proof of her pain. i think at some point she accepts the fact that she is broken and unfixable and decides to "embrace" that by ruining herself and taking things to the extremes just to see how much she can withstand. she revels in her worthlessness and destructive behavior and makes it her personality, because if she hurts herself first, other people can't reach her. the song is called "pyrite girl" because obviously none of these behaviors are healthy and are leading to her destruction. however, she refuses to believe that and continues down the path. she might even be aware of all of these things, but not care or feel unable to stop herself anymore.
yeah this entire thing has been me self projecting but uh i love oversharing on the internet!
*when I said fight fire with fire that’s not what I meant*
Edit: unrelated but i never noticed until now that she gets brighter as the song goes on, most noticeable in her hair-
I think that she got into a sort of abusive relationship and has an anti social personnality discorder, more precisely a narcissic discorder. She see herself as a sort of gold object, but due to this toxic event she's now broken. I think it was the person she was with that ended the relationship and that she thinks it's because she were too broken/too imperfect now. She wants to be covered in gold to fill up those empty spaces and become perfect again so the person would maybe love her again, she wants to shine the most so they can only see her. She suppressed her own identity so she can fit into this perfection model and it drived into a gold/perfection obsession.
That's what i think btw ! I'm addicted to this song, it's so underrated
For some reason, this makes me nostalgic, like this is something people more than ten years ago would have Rin sing.
Happy to see you’re still making bops ^ ^
I dont know what kind of witchery youve done with this song specifically, but ive been doing well with realistic art for the past few days. And ive only been able to tap into it with this song. You did something here and im gonna find out what.

I'm a recent fan and I have to say this is spectacular. I started with Corrosion, and I have to say that while it's a good song, this is on another level. The way all of the elements play together - the PV, lyrics, instrumental, the transitions from English to Japanese, it's top tier. That final "GOLD" is so satisfying.
havent stopped listening to this constantly since the release. perfection
Many theory are about this girl driving herself crazy over the idea that wounds are a good thing she needs to be special. But i think it lacks subtlety. In the sense its not just her going mad and covering herself in scars at the end, but rather all she has left. Whatever/whomever was causing the cracks in the first place hadn't stopped, it all continues in a downward spiral despite her best tries at life, despite her trying to move on and live. But it never stops because the world is awful, she doesn't understand why she gets all this pain at all times, why she not allowed to be happy. And slowly overtime, the idea that others that causes thoses scars just cannot understand her because she's too different, changed into the idea that being more and more unique was being perfect, and that the scars made her more and more unique. In a world that never gets better, this illusion is all she has. Other than death to escape the pain.
