Carly Gregg's Shocking Mental Evaluation Revealed in Murder Trial

- Amanda Gugliano, director of forensic evaluation services, took the stand in Carly Gregg’s trial on Thursday afternoon where she detailed what she experienced while talking to Carly months after she was arrested for allegedly murdering her mother, Ashley Smylie. Carly revealed to Gugliano that she “blacked out” during the incident, but that she didn’t feel as bothered as she thought she would be after going to jail for her mom’s murder.

Fifteen-year-old Carly Gregg is accused of brutally murdering her mother and attempting to murder her stepfather in March of 2024. Gregg allegedly shot her mother in the face numerous times inside their Mississippi home before she's accused of calling her friend over to show her the gruesome scene. If convicted, Gregg faces life behind bars.

Well, my Grandma is not a psychiatrist, psycologist, lawyer, whatever. She doesn't hold a college degree on anything. She barely ended High School. But she says Carly is a freaking bad seed who would even scare the devil.

That girls thoughts became her actions, she may have excelled in school, but her smarts proved she had evil thoughts that became her actions.
Watch the videos of the incident. She was calm cool and collected the entire time, until stepdad got home then OMG freak out! This girl knew exactly what she was doing. She has a mental illness, but not to the extent that she was manic or out of control. She gonna have a long time to think about what she has done. Guilty
And she was totally calm when she got arrested.
I agree and she even had the presence of mind to hide the gun from the cameras!

Oh dear, her attorney was asking Carly quite a few questions in this evaluation, she even used the word disassociated when describing to the psychiatrist how Carly felt about being in jail...Carly didn't say/use that word herself.
It sounds like the evaluation could be interpreted as being coached by the attorney. They're skirting around this, but it most certainly is being portrayed that way.
But with all three professionals, Carly never presented herself as being Manic, and again, her claims about hearing voices as a toddler was just another ploy to get out of jail...

Correct. Having imaginary friends that one " hears" and converses with as a toddler isn't even in the same realm as a psychiatric disorder. It's a fairly common event in the context of normal child development.

BS..... I'm tired of everything being blamed on bi-polar disorder. My daughter is bi-polar. She's never murdered anyone. Also, people that do not have bi-polar have murdered.....so there's that.
Carly drove me nuts when she was drinking her pop, like she was trying to be cool.

Is she wearing her mother’s clothes? That dress does not look it belongs on someone on her age. I’ve noticed other dresses she has had on that looked the same.
Nor is the doctor up to snuff on her past interactions with the defendant.
She didn't space out when she killed her mother. She went back to ensure her mother was definitely dead. The video footage of it is very disturbing.
Uh? She said she heard a male voice? That's changed since a previous piece of footage showing a psychiatric nurse explaining that she had asked the same question, but her answer was that she didn't and doesn't hear voices. I feel that she knew exactly what she was doing when she murdered her mother. This is awful. She is very dangerous.
Every comment section I read on these courts clips, people are going on about how evil she is. Well that may be, but unless she was born this way, then something happened in that home to facilitate this, and if it wasn’t that, then she’s obviously got a serious mental illness and should be sentenced based on that. Let’s not forget that her parents knew she had problems, but yet left a loaded gun for her to have access too.

Two things. One, your unless is a complete possibility. Two, parents are not the only influences in anyone's life. Three, it sure looks like the mother got her punishment for leaving the gun available, huh?
@@seantimmons5900 I suppose she could have used a knife, but a gun is much less work. There were times when I was growing up, that my parents really ticked me off to the point I would feel extreme anger. You hear troubled teenagers tell their parents I wish you were dead. They probably think they mean it at the time, but most of them get over it. I guess having a loaded gun handy just makes it that much easier to carry that impulse out.

The attorneys are dressing Carly in clothes that belong on an 8 year old in the 1950s. Also the hair style.
Except the see through sleeves today look like she's playing dress ups in Grandma's old clothes.
She is just babbling with poor explanations. The other Dr was much more coherent and credible
