I have not made comments before, I think. I am a 210 lbs. retired plumber/volunteer firefighter to give you an image....and I have discovered the joys of Watercolor....You, have been an absolute true inspiration to this concept for me and I do appreciate it that! Thank you...enjoy your talent and demos...please continue to display
I am a beginner and I am so grateful for your beautiful teaching style and I am so excited to give it a try. I absolutely love your watercolor style. Thank you so much for teaching us.
Merci beaucoup.☺️🌸🌸
Thank you so much Maria, I painted along with you as a beginner. I find you to be a great teacher and your work to be very beautiful. Bree from Australia
Again, so relaxing to watch you paint Maria! I wish I could paint everyday ‘cos I’d probably be a lot farther along, but I struggle with arthritis in my hands so on the pain/exhaustion days I watch you (and Steve from Mind of Watercolor) paint and just let my hands rest. I way over did practice yesterday so resting today. Love how you paint those tiny veins. Blessings to you.
Beginner here🙄. Love your practice exercises/painting, etc. Can you please explain what the neutral tint is and how/why it is used? I see the tube at the top, but can it be mixed ? Can it be used with any color to neutralize? Looks like a gray.
Hi Diane🤗no problem :) Neutral Tint is just like any other transparent watercolor, you can mix it with other colors. neutral Tint is like Payne's Gray (gray color) but with a tint of purple in it.
Hi Maria, your paintings are beautiful and relaxing to watch them , thank you for sharing with us..also I loved the music you chose, could you share the details of the music u used too..especially the first music which has violin..suits your painting perfectly
Wow, those are really pretty! 😱❤️never thought that green and pink could blend so well together without looking weird! :0 Good job, thanks for sharing! 😃😊☺️😁😍 -Pat
Thanks for your videos - they are so helpful- such beautiful art work. Where can I purchase the item where it has the wells and the rectangles to put your paint? Thank you in advance

could you please Maria, if it s possible, write s.g about the paper you use? I usally use cold pressed paper 638 gsm .In your opinion , is it good for painting in watercolor? If no, what is the best? thank you so much
That is so beautiful! PLEASE help me get that exact version of the canon by pachelbel. It means the world to me. Can you give me more information to who played that exact version? Thank you so much!!!
Maria, l am a beginner and l use Arches 140 lb cold press, but my paper warps even with the slight water. I can see yours does not. Thank you for sharing your tutorial, Marie
Hi Marie, do you have any glass top surface? table? a kitchen cutting board made of glass 🤗Placing your watercolor paper on glass makes a huge difference while you are painting, I rarely have my paper buckle while I am painting🌸The buckle naturally will buckle tho if you leave it to dry.... 🌸
I am curious about your choice of a fugitive watercolor, opera, for use in a print that one may wish to save. In the case of opera I have read accounts of serious color fade in a matter of months.
First, let me say that I love and admire your work and find your demonstrations very helpful. Thanks so much for taking the time to produce these videos. As for opera, it is a fugitive color, check the rating on the tube. If in doubt, do your own lightfast check over a few months time. Also check the www.Handprint site for all this info. As I am sure you are well aware, this is a highly respected watercolor site without dispute and so handy for those of us who simply do not have the time, skills, or as in my own case, having the knowledge to even know what it is I don't know. There are some lovely watercolors with these fluorescent pigments like opera, sadly none of them are lightfast at this point. Hopefully that will change with more research and new products. Per handprint: "Finally, Holbein opera is a more intense bluish pink hue (chroma of 79), and has long been a favorite of botanical and landscape watercolor painters for its captivating, bright floral or flamingo color. It is unfortunately only marginally lightfast because the fluorescent basic dye rhodamine B (BV10) has been used. (The dye is formulated by dissolving it in an inert, insoluble resin, then crushing and grinding the cured resin matrix to the desired particle size.) In 2005 Winsor & Newton introduced their own opera rose, which has a slightly darker and less intense color and shows pigment separation (resin from quinacridone) in juicy, dilute washes. These paints should not be used in collectible quality artwork." Fugitive color is one issue that keeps watercolor art and artists from achieving the status and professional recognition the field deserves when compared to oil works for instance. New formulations and research will help all of us to put that issue to bed. cawww.handprint.com/HP/WCL/waterfs.html.
good morning Maria.I have already written you expressing my admirιng for your painting and the manner you teach. Please if possible , I would like to know when you use rough , cold pressed or hot pressed paper,Thank you very much indeed.
Thank you so much ☺️🌹I will soon release a video about watercolor papers, which one is best for Landscapes, after that animals and flowers. I like Cold Pressed for flowers, sometimes rough. it's a matter of if you want a texture. I like textured papers because Cold Pressed or rough is a more forgiving paper comparing to Hot Pressed, with textured papers you achieve amazing effects. With Hot pressed, you are forced to work more on details, paper is smooth. It's best to use it when you really want to have a detailed painting.
