Petition for Chandler to write a book about characters named Salami and Romulus
chandler and i do not share the same taste in books yet i watch nearly all of her long vlogs, there’s something really sweet about hearing her articulate about books, characters and plots, i find it calming in a way? she’s like one of those friends who you call just to hear them ramble as you go on about your day, anyways, great video as always, love you lots 💓
Same with me. I don’t think I’ll ever read a book she recommend bc romance with smut is not my thing, but I love watching her stuff anyway for some reason
I don't think I've ever enjoyed a book she's recommended, but I love watching her 😌
Same same. comfort youtuber for sure!
Oh my goodness Chandler you’re so sweet! I’m so glad you liked my graphic and included me in this video💗💗💗
I was so excited when I saw you in here!!!
Romulus and Salami, I laughed out loud twice at that haha
It’s a book. It certainly is a book 😂
Salami & Romulus 😌
"I don't know what that says about me" the amount of times I tell myself this 😂😂
ok I was nervous when I saw you pick Medicine Man cause it is *slightly* unhinged as a lot of her books tend to be but I loved the mental health rep in it & so glad you connected with it too!
Could you do a recent/updated everyday makeup breakdown? Not necessarily a “tutorial” because that feels like a lot of pressure (lol), but as someone with a very similar complexion (i.e., super pale), I’m always dying to know what products and brushes work for my fellow porcelain princesses ❤😂
Every time you say salami! I literally die lol!! 😂😂
oh fr same, i cackled
I love these kinds of videos! So fun and creative 🥰✨
Not me convinced to read brutal obsession now 😂😂😂
Love this, such a fun way to get a TBR! ❤
I love the way you speak about books. Great video.
Great video Chandler 😊 I really like this concept for a video cause I get to live vicariously through you reading books from Insta Reels/posts cause if I had the time I’d do that all the time cause they always sound interesting! Hope you consider making this a series 😊
“It’s giving sociopath” I need it…😂
OMG this is such a fun video 😂❤️
such a fun idea & loved this video. also, your feelings towards medicine man were my exact feelings toward sweet dandelion. that has a very, very good grief representation/healing journey. i didn't connect w the romance because for me, if i read a taboo romance, like u said, i need rlly solid motivations behind the characters/reasoning for why they're attracted to each other that kinda goes beyond just physical attraction & an attraction to saviors typa vibe. i did try reading medicine man multiple times, both on kindle & audio bcz i was intrigued by the mental health aspect of it but i just felt like the romance would let me down :/
also very intrigued by brutal obsession so adding to tbr!!
I love this idea😍
You sold me Brutal Obsession, adding it to my tbr.
Greyson from Brutal Obsession sounds like a real charmer. Also, you finishing means it’s literary crack. It’s messed up but you can’t put it down.
😭😂i totally forgot about all the harry potter references in medicine man
Salami and Ramulas🤣🤣🤣🤣
LOVE Catherine Cowles!! The tattered and torn series is amazing!
i enjoyed 'lovers' (the book before 'another') a whole lot more, it was emotionally complex and the relationships between the three MC's felt very genuine, you should give it a try!
Dark romance at this point sounds like an excuse to glamorize abusive relationships. Change my mind.
I’m with you I personally don’t dream of domestic abuse
I am .... SO CURIOUS about Brutal Obsession now omg????
This comment alone just made me subscribe to your channel😭🤣
this is a great idea!
I love this video! 😍
I’m on the boarder of East texas and Louisiana.. have family all over both states… I struggle with being so picky about “Texan” or cajun/creole accents in books 🥴
RIGHT!!! haha my other side of the fam is in Louisiana, i feel ya
I'm glad you found a book you liked
Ahh highly suggest the “love kills” trilogy by Briana Jean it’s such a good indie romance and I never see anyone talk abt it. It’s more on deeper side though.
Omg Chan this was so entertaining😂 WHAT was the author you mentioned who write good dark romance? Something about the development being more gradual rather than the man flipping a switch.
I was interested to hear your opinion on Medicine Man. I was surprised you hadn’t read it yet. It’s not often that I have read something before booktubers that I follow. I remember liking Medicine Man it is definitely a story that stayed with me. I’m intrigued by your mixed review of brutal obsession. I may have to pick it because of morbid curiosity.
The best Doctor/patient story I ever read was an anime fanfic that is over 20 years old by now. It acknowledged the power in-balance of the situation and how it's illegal but the Dr. was the best person to help his patient through the trauma he had (Patient suffers from black-out seizers and was worried he killed the love of his life because he had an episode and the death was ruled an accident). Towards the end when the mystery is solved the Dr. signs the patient over to another doctor to do the follow up therapy and the two cease contact for a year with a promise to meet again if the patient wishes to do so (of course he does!!). It's honestly the only way I feel like I could be fully satisfied with that kind of relationship.
Liar & Teacher by Fiona Cole are my two favorites, you should give them a try!!😁
the other books in the series that "another" by Fiona Cole is in, are worth checking out! imo
How am I just seeing this 😍Im glad you liked it though...it's def an acquired taste 😂
I enjoyed the idea of the video. I will reread Lick by Kylie Scott. I haven’t read it in a while and it’s sitting in my Kindle library.
Ohh dear lord 😅
So I'm a saffron stan. You should def check out her rebels of st Mary's series. I think those books are amazing.
Griff is my dog's name. I am uncomfy with a love interest being named Griff.
lmaoooo
Romulus and Salami 🤭
Have you read Lizzie Blake’s Best Mistake yet? That’s accidental pregnancy done well in my opinion!! Lots of fighting feelings and mutual pining.
i haven't! i need to
I had the same experience when I read Medicine Man and also gave it 4 stars. Was pleasantly surprised at the mental health rep, and appreciated that the heroine's depression wasn't "cured" once she was in love and that she acknowledged she'd always be fighting to cope with it. I dropped a star because the hero was a bit too possessive, esp near the end, and that coupled with him being her psychiatrist and being so much older made the power dynamics feel a little ick for me. The "I'll deck a guy for even looking at you as we walk down the street" vibes ain't it for me now that I'm older.
One Moment Please by Amy Daws was a pretty good accidental pregnancy book! The two main characters are a little stubborn, but I don't remember it being gratuitous.
Another good rockstar series is Cake, by J. Bengttson, I enjoyed the entire series.
lmao Chandler being really scarred by the book she just DNFd 😂
Anyone saw it too that book 2 and 3 have the same man on the cover?
I haven't read it but calling the guy in the first book The Hero feels like a crime based on your description.
Catherine cowles books should be read in order if you want a great character development.
Omggggg
salami would be such a cute name for a girl though 😌
💖💖💖💖💖
The book in the series by Fiona Cole with her ex marrying a man was like fake poly/cheating so I hated it but some people didn't
yeah i read the reviews hahaha i probably won't be checking that one out, such a bummer
@@chandlerainsley I get so pumped for poly books but most of them are so bad
“Nothing against 45 year old women but this woman in this book is 18” lmaooo
18:22 Wait... 3rd person shifting POVs? The part you read sounded like an omniscient 3rd person narrator.
Yeah find you again isn’t the best book to read…. I didn’t like this one either 😂
Yeah Catherine Cowles is probably just not for you because its the same formula for each book 🤷🏼♀
It's so great you had a succesful run with the recs you found on instagram. I'm now really intrigued by Medicine Man. On the topic of booktubers; I just recently did a video on my channel on 10 of my favorite booktubers, the ones I literally get all my recs from. Spoiler alert you're on the list 🩷
ahhh thanks so much! what an honor
You deserve all the praise with the amount of creative ideas and efforts you put into your content 🤩😉
