Always look forward to these type of Vlogs, Luke. Learned so much in a short space of time by just recreating your sets and In My Mind Vlogs and implementing what I've picked up into my own sets. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge.
Thank you so much for posting vlogs like this. These help people like me who wants to get into djing but have no idea where to start. I love watching your sets and use one of your festival sets as my workout playlist.
Finally a way to make that 1/32 roll sound good!
Thank you for this. I’m just getting back into Djing after 6 years with the Prime 4 and your tips are helping me like you would not believe
Loved this fader tricks vlog. Knew a couple of them but also learned some new ones, cant wait to try these tricks. thanks LBL

Ty for the tips.. best Dj / teacher.thanks again.
Thank you so much for sharing this!!! Will practice 😍
Thank You for that awesome advice! I will use this in my sets! :)
Very helpful, thanks bro for sharing 👍
Thank you so much ! The cross fader one really helps me out !!
Love the ideas, thanks so much!!:)
Funny seeing vids like this. Back in the dark ages of vinyl and no internet we intuitively knew all this! Being in the groove yourself helps with rhythm and feeling the music.
I started learning on vinyl last year and can now pitch ride and match really quick . Just kinda figured this out after watching hard techno vinyl mixes and messing around with the faders like your dancing and eventually it was intuitive what sounds good .
Laidback Luke thanks from Venezuela!!!!
Thank you for these skills Luke 🙏
With that kind of music, you can hardly notice any subtle difference.
You dope bro. Such simple groovy tricks
Amazing tricks !! Gracias bro !! 👯♀️👯♀️
Fantastic tips bro
Love Your Content Always And Very happy to learn it from a celebrity dj/producer
#lovesupport
Gracias por los tips Laidback. Saludos desde Ecuador 🇪🇨
great video and tips
Hey Laidback Luke thank you so much for the tips! They were very helpfull ✌🙌 Also I want to say I love your song flashing lights ☺️👌
I really like your channel! I really like your atitude to give your knowledge away to people. This is so nice. Great personality. Thanks for that!
Great tips as always! Get creative with the tips and add your own touch. For instance, 32 beats through the drop, start the next song for 4 beats, take out the current playing song for those 4 beats, and then bring it back! Just tried this and it sounds awesome! Love learning new skills/techniques. Thanks LL! You the man
I want more like this!!!
Genius! Hope to see you again in El Paso!
Very helpful luke, gonna link it to my brother, he'll have his first set in a week wish him luck 🤞
So how was the set ?
@@TherealFayFay88 it's tonight, small party but big performance anxiety 😖
So how was the set ?
@@triXtyle 😂😂it was not at the level of Luke, a bit rough in the beginning, he made some mistakes but in the end he was at ease and everyone had fun, I'm really proud of him
I hope hes using quarantine to perfect his craft ! Hope to see him one day
Definitely going to try out the loop roll trick!!
Laidback Luke and James hype You both are beasts at decks !!
Love this!
Niceeee ! Loved it ! Txs !
I want that shirt!!! I love it !!
That crossfader trick is so dope
Amazing and inspiring
Awesome thanks for sharing
Love the shirt
To be fair, you could communicate with Morse code with that last trick 😂
Very interesting. Digging the tricks
Hey Luke! This is my first time watching your vlog and I liked it... It is very informative, keep it up... I been djing since 1985 to date, and I find your vlog very helpful... still learning new tricks from you, thank you very much... God Bless & More Power to you... Did subscribe...
Hands down best Intro on UA-cam ! Lol love it
would love to see your tips and tricks on making cool loops with vocals etc for live mashups, etc! This could include fun ways to transition in and out of tracks using fx as well.
Dang this is enlightening
I see these tricks all the time In your “in my mind” series. It’s so amazing you made a video explaining it for everyone to see :)
Favorite tutorial yet! I think next it would be awesome if you did one on how to sync drops during a mix
has anyone brought up that a bar and a measure are the same thing and are both made up of beats? Luke, please take note in the future so as to avoid confusing folks. other than that, YOU'RE AMAZING and THANK YOU!!
Thank you Luke
Nice !! this one day in laidback luke dj school!!
thanks you for the fader techniques
Thanks!🙏
Love it. 👊
Thanks for sharing ur idea
I've just bought the ddj 1000 I'm gonna be trying some off these tricks 🔥🔥🔥,miss your shows in the uk laid back Luke is in the house !!!!
cheers for that x
Great video
One thing I like to do when taking it out on the 4 is to move the crossfader over to B then use the fader assign to set the channel playing to A. It's basically a mute button and the advantage is you get a quick cut. It could be preference but I like the sound better.
This must be the most beautiful player deck I've seen
You are amazing 😀
Love it😍
Happy new year2020 sir
I love it
Awesome set at World Club Dome! 🔥🔥🔥🙌
7:20 , to achieve practice
I think this is very funny how u are using this in dance music, we where and still using this in bubbling 90s 00s u remember this style pretty well. The only thing u need to learn is the fader on the 2 and 4 it's a great trick whenever u do it right. Thanks 4 the demo
always wondering what kind of people on earth are disliking this kind of helpful videos🤷🏻♂️
Good tricks...thanks
Nice cap bro.Go Luke!
I agree on this, very good demo on faders I use to mix this way in the 90s on vinyl turntables , there are various techniques or patterns no rules , very common DJ one use to be the fader up & down on hi hats for about 1 bar or half before a drop , many djs use to mix like this in the UK with the cross fader like a Lisa Lashes, DJ Rap etc but I think some of the best mixing fader djs come from the UK rave scene on vinyl Jungle , Rave or Garage scene , it's easy once you have the technique & flow but the timing comes with practise bit like mixing records by pitch & ear 👍
Always on point Swift
Cheers !!!
just like to further add here if I may
The fader style is not really anything new !!! it's been around since Technics Turntables was in clubs bars,
started off in the early 90s rave breakbeat scene .
It really surprises me that some of the new djs today have not learned this technique yet !!!!
@@FreaKBeatSEDMpodcast 💯👍
Merci laid !!
This is amazing mate thanks. My only question is how do you make this work with other genres. I've tried some while mixing hardstyle and it doesn't work well.
Nice video bro! Tnx
What? Luke on a P4? Bravo!
That was very informative Kuya Luke salamat :)
Nice One👌💯
Nice!!
how to use loops creatively
HEY LUKE! THANKS FOR TUTORIALS - I HAVE THE DENON PRIME, CAN YOU DO A TUTORIAL ON HOW TO USE THE EFFECTS WITH THAT CONTROLLER? ZACK
Liked the fader tricks. James hype is really into that a lot. Love the sc6000’s they are awesome. Can you also show us how fast the sc6000M’s start, would love to get a pair of those.
Dj Rasdagras
Love it
I've noticed using faster cuts helps break up the track especially with mixer effects. Typically helps create a cleaner echo ^-^ Great stuff as always
i love crossfader tricks playing frenchcore at 200bpm. The fast bpm is a amazing for using the crossfader
UA-cam exists for stuff like this.
You're the reason I got the prime 4 Luke
Luke= 100% BALLER!👊👊👊
Would love to see yourself & James Hype do a B2B, both kill it on the decks!
Some techno techniques!! I see a lot make tricks and techniques for EDM, tech house, etc (this can be used in someway for techno, sure) But would be cool a video with techno tracks examples on it. Great video! New sub here :D
saludos desde ARgentina, gracias por mosotrarnos tus trucos. see you
By the way: thnx for the tips. Always.
you can tell he was brought up on vinyl XD XD
