Two people who set trends. Two men who in their own way brought the alternative lifestyle to the mainstream. Totally makes sense that they would be legitimate fans of one another.
Michael Stipe...I so enjoy watching and listening to you! You are so likable. I listened to a video not long ago you did with Choir Choir Choir: a song by Bowie. And I cried: you conveyed the feelings I believe were intended to be felt by us. Thank you for your beautiful music and your beautiful attitude.
I guess im asking randomly but does any of you know a way to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb lost my account password. I love any tricks you can offer me!
@Axton Mathias I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process atm. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Automatic was their masterpiece (but all the albums which came before it were great in their own way). I saw them in concert in Edinburgh back in 1995. For me they weren't the same band after the drummer Bill Berry left in 1997.
Not the same band, but arguably it was also a very different band who made Automatic For The People to Monster two years later. They always changed and adapted and that didn't stop when Bill left. Some of their best stuff came after he left in my opinion, Collapse Into Now perhaps being the masterpiece of that period, but Up, Reveal and Accelerate all being very solid albums full of excellent songs. Imitation Of Life is possibly one of their most beautiful songs, and Bill himself saying his joint favourite REM song is All The Way To Reno.
@@fredh1720 I did enjoy some of their later output. I just couldn't get in to their final two albums (sounded too experimental to my ears). Didn't know that re Berry's fave track. I managed to get Murmur and Reckoning deluxes recently on cd (at a reasonable price!) Most of their repackaged releases cost a fortune on Amazon UK. I did like the rawness of Monster when i got it back in '94 (more straight ahead rock album).
So amazing how well michael played the "rock star role" with his pretend pretense and arrogance. It's quite obvious now in all these later interviews post-REM that he was not that person.
Paul, do you have any bloodline in the U.S.? My biological bloodline is Smith. I was adopted to another bloodline, but I do the history of the Smith name , even here in OH, USA.
REM STILL HELPING ME TOLIVE AND PULL OVER BAD SITUATION. AND NEVER GIVE UP .THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT. ❤

Why does Stipe have those white lines down his nose? I've had the same problem after snorting coke myself a few times due to my nasal hair.
