    I have noticed at 3AM in the morning in my Australian location that we have bats which can pollinate my dragon 🐉 fruit for me when my seedlings get old enough.
    I have also noticed a moth pollinating some flowers 🌹 at that time of morning as well !

    Richard please help me- I’m not sure what I did wrong but most of my red flesh flowers died after few days. I have 2 varieties - the white flesh and the red flesh . The white is self pollinate and we like to call it the “faithful tree”. It seems to give lot of fruit and very low maintenance. My other tree blossomed and all died last year. I just leaned that it need to be hand pollinated. I stayed up and waited guarding every night to do just that. Well I have 20% success and feel frustrated. What did I do wrong here? Do you cross pollinate the 2 varieties for better chance? Is it the only option? Thanks

    Ive been following your videos. Maybe you can assist me?I am from South Africa. Of the 122 million hectares at this stage only 20 hectares are utilised for farming dragon fruit. A very rare fruit here. I have about 100 vietnamese plants that i grew from seed. I was wondering if you could assist me with aquiring other varieties' seeds. Preferably the purple varieties like haleys comet or royal red with purple flesh.

    I have a question. I have planted my dragon fruit a week ago and am waiting for it to root and it still has not. How long does it take for them to set roots? I have it in shade and have watered the base of it about twice a week since its very hot here. The one thing to not is the actual cutting still has the bottom intact, the part that links two segments of the plant together. Should I but that section off and then try again?

    • @ezramatan5233
      @ezramatan5233 4 роки тому

      A good gardener knows when to let nature take it's course. Just leave it alone haha. After a week or two of planting the cutting is still getting used to the soil and it's surroundings. Just be patient.

      It's the same species. It would be the same as using the same pollen on the same flower. Cross pollination is from 2 species pollinating each other. You can then use the seed from that fruit to produce your own specie.

    Richard, brother!!! Why would my dragon fruit keep dropping all the flowers above 5 or so days after they bloom? A little back story, this plant came to my driveway after a storm about 3 years ago. First year after planting it grew like crazy (still does) second year had maybe 5-10 flowers, this year brother it’s dropped at least 20-30 flowers. I’ve been trying to pollinate them as you’ve described. It seems like they start to just slightly get a hint of red and fall right off. What do you think?
