    Thank you for your very nice brief and clean explanation. You may also consider in the calculation that for every 4 H ions, we got 1ATP in ETC. In the end, there are 2.5 ATP for NADH (10 /4 - 10 H ions in ETC for NADH) and 1.5 ATP for FADH2 (6 /4 - 6 H ions in ETC for FADH2 ). Moreover, G3P shuttle and Malate-Aspartate-Shuttle for the NADH produced in anaerobic part of Glycolysis should also be considered. You end up with 30-32 ATP.

    We also take one GTP which translates to one ATP so the output thought out the Krebs cycle only would be 3NADH, 1FAD, and 1GTP--> 1ATP

    I have a degree in exercise science. The reason I pursued the degree was to understand how exercise and physical fitness works on another level. My instructor did not want to talk about anything unless I do with actually running. So none of my questions ever got answered in class but from what I recall, anaerobic exercise does not create ATP only Aerobic exercise, correct?? That being said If you run out of stored energy, you can actually create enough energy to keep your body moving during intensive aerobic exercise? Eventually, obviously the demands of the body will not keep up with the amount of ATP created. This is the main reason I tell people to not do cardio before they lift weights or do any type of anaerobic exercise. I wish I could find someone to talk about this but no one really wants to talk about it on any other level. To be honest The krebs cycle doesn't really mean much if you don't talk about it in real life usage.

    I am confused with the decarboxylation of the pyruvate cause in some references, in that process, there is a complete removal of CO2 molecule from pyruvate. And I think O2 is only used as electron acceptor in ETC.

  • @shreyasphanipendyala1008

    Hello! Great job explaining! However, please do correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that in Glycolysis, glucose isn't being cut into 2 halves causing it to form pyruvic acids, but the carbon in the glucose is (you stated that point @0:47, sir). As we all know, a glucose compound contains 6 Carbon atoms, 12 Hydrogen atoms, and 6 Oxygen atoms; but in this, we're only 'cutting' the carbon atoms into half (from 6 to 3; as a pyruvic acid contains 3 carbons atoms). So what happened to the remaining 12 Hydrogen and 6 Oxygen atoms of the single glucose molecule?

    • @mathematics5573
      @mathematics5573 2 роки тому +1

      There seem to be a few misunderstandings in these comments and his video. C atoms are not cut up ever. The 6 C glucose molecule is oxidised, and splits into a two, 3 C molecules, called Pyruvic acid and the process continues. I have made 1 video on Glycolysis. I am about to make a Krebs cycle video

    Can you explain why we require oxygen for the kerb cycle a little bit further? And can you explain the difference of oxidation and decarboxylation?

    • @TheMovementSystem
      @TheMovementSystem  3 роки тому +1

      Oxygen is required for the Krebs cycle because as the 2 carbon acetyl coA breaks down the carbon can combine with the O2 to make CO2 which is what we exhale.

    • @michellelyons
      @michellelyons 2 роки тому

      Oxidation loses an electron and decarboxylation removes carbon.... I think

  • @Dontexxr
    @Dontexxr Місяць тому

    Everytime you get the bi product of CO2 can't we just assume that's from the making of atp / bi product. And the NADH+ IS going to NADH because that electron is energy breaking and forming new bonds.

    • @Dontexxr
      @Dontexxr Місяць тому

      So I noticed we got co2 twice and ended up with 2 ATPs in the krebs cycle

  • @PhiyackYuh

    Can someone explain this to me in a simple way and whats the theory behind krebs cycle? Im not getting it? Does this have to do with digestive system at all or more energy production?

      More energy production

      The Krebs cycle just makes energy in the form of ATP, from Glucose, that comes from foods like potatoes, rice, pasta, bread. these foods are made from starch, which is made from billions of glucose molecules. ATP is used for protein synthesis, muscule contraction and dozens more biochemical processes in living organisms or your body. ATP supplies energy that allows to walk to work or clime stairs etc etc. See my videos. I have done glycolysis. Am about to do a better one on the Krebs cycle

    HAVE SEEN MANY VIDEOS TO EXPLAIN THE CYCLE AND ALTHOUGH THEY TRY AND TRY HARD, THEY KEEP ON MAKING THE SAME MISTAKE. USING THE ABC / alphabet over and over again, while explaining. There has to be a better way to explain the cycle without the need to call each transformed molecule by its new name. In this video he makes it a little better than most others since he skips some renamings of changed molecules and explains the "core". If you cannot explain it to your grandma ... you don't fully understand it yourself.
