I've played quite a few Gibsons at my local used shop up to the $1,200 price point and they are all hit and miss, I'm not a Gibson hater that's just been my personal experience with the ones I've tried. The best guitar I've tried that had that "Les Paul" sound was a 1997 PRS Mira 🤷♂️, my son just recently got a 1979 Greco Standard which is a Les Paul Standard law suit and it feels and sounds really nice, it has their PAF style humbuckers and it sounds like what you would think a Les Paul should sound like.
I agree - still can't find a guitar that I like more than Gibson. I play drop a on a 2004 SG faded and it slaps. How do you like ESP? I saw that viper in the corner. I want a Les Paul-style guitar and the new EC1000T in the tobacco satin finish looks really nice, but I haven't played one of those in like 10 yrs. It's sort of my last option before I buy another Gibson lol.
Sorry to be so off topic but does anybody know of a trick to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my account password. I would love any assistance you can give me
@Andrew Wade Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
i like your take on this Eric. Im in the same camp.... i think there's a lot of keyboard shit talkers who've never played either brand but want to sound relevant. Any brand is going to have some QC issues here and there. I've played Mesa and Gibson for over 15 years, many models of both and have had my share of issues but at the end of the day they are both heads and tails above the rest and great American made products.
Gibson is going to let Mesa Boogie do what they do best. Gibson acquiring Mesa is actually a good thing, considering what Fender has done if the years....
Randall smith the owner of Mesa , is getting older , my thoughts behind it . He is trying to secure the future of Mesa by bringing it to Gibson Awesome video .

Isn’t pronounced Mesa (MAY-SAH)? I’m not sure, tbh...
Gibson doesn’t produce cheap gear, Mesa will stay top tier. Anyone hating doesn’t have either…

but since gibson acquired it hard to see mesa in euro marketing
If Gibson buys mesa, does that mean that mesa amps will be back in guitar center?

Lol everyone that talks crap about Gibson never owned one.
Or have owned one 😂.
