Poor tortoise 8, just wanted some potatoes but got a heaping helping of solanine poisoning instead. Never eat green potatoes, people! Also, did anyone else see the dumbfuck beating on the interior wall?
This is like 5 years old now so kinna useless but anyone looking to make one of these a couple of hints: Make those 3 3 tile corridors into one continuous 1 tile corridor. Then use alternating sandbags ( or boulders for cost efficiency ) and empty tiles so they have to climb and crawl all the way through ( this pulls them into a big clump for you ) and finally just put more junk in there to burn. You can amp the temperature up in that corpse oven to about 300c in a matter of seconds that way.
I set mine up using 1-2 wide corridors with sandbags every other space and don’t floor it for the maximum time possible to funnel them inside, i Molotov a couple wooden stools and then just wait. Once most of the raiders are suffering from extreme heat stroke I vent the room and loot
thanks for the vid. I know it's old but I'm just new to the whole...Rimworld iwarcrimes thing. I am definitely doing this so I could kick off a organ harvesting save
Yes. Without the vents the heat will continue rising and kill the raiders pretty fast, but if you can control the heat and make it rise slower you can make most of the raiders incapacitate through heatstroke before outright dying from heat damage; That way you can harvest more organs and capture more prisoners with each raid.
@@Marbul you see, we don't wanna just kill them, then its not fun. We want them to suffer. We want them to roast nice and slow like. Makes the screams all the more enjoyable. Or at least that is what I imagine your line of thinking
This is DIABOLICAL. I was literally considering doing this the other day. 🤣 I learned very early on that you could burn bodies with a mini makeshift crematorium. Molotov cocktail + mini granite building. This is fantastic.
hold on... did you just defeat most of them through smoke inhalation? I didnt even know that that was a thing and i have hundreds of hours into this damn game.
That's the point of the set up. The goal is to down the raid with heat stroke rather than killing them. This way you can capture more prisoners for organ harvesting, recruitment or selling. Without the vents the room will get way too hot and most of the pawns inside will die and the ones who do survive will have much more severe burns.
I know this is a late response but apparently they help with capturing people. If you just want to kill and don’t care about recruits though, no vents works
I never liked kill boxes and always wondered why developers don't care about exploits like this one. It kills my immersion. It could easily be fixed. Repairing an item like an electric air conditioner should not be possible while someone is damaging it. Repairing of items, such as doors and walls could be possible during the combat but with way lower efficiency and with additional resource use so that an enemy can actually prevail. Additional construction during combat should also be way slower and resource-demanding. AI is just plain stupid here. They should be detecting the cause of their damage. If there is a fire nearby me that wasn't caused by me and I'm indoors, let me put it off. Rimworld already has logic for locating and extinguishing the fire and whether a room is roofed, indoors, cold, hot, etc. Traps also need rework.
yes because if irl u were raiding a person and an explosion happens the first thing youll think of is lets extinguish the fire xD its a realistic trap since it a furance not just a hallway filled with traps and they stupidly just walk across them its a believable trap i mean u can watch WW2 documentary and youll see how effective it is.
You do not need kill boxes to play the game effectively, you should know That and if the raiders were incredibly realistic on their strategies it would detract from the overall enjoyment out of the game, though if you do want that form of realism in a top down, 2D cartoonish game, there are mods in the workshop to satisfy your woes! Other people having their own forms of fun shouldn't detract you from yours.
thats a little unrealistic, while lava itself is roughly 2000F when it comes down the sides of a volcano, it really shouldn't have made the room that hot that fast.
I once did a killbox similar to this except instead of using fire I used a melted-down nuclear reactor from RimAtomics, the raiders had to walk directly on top of it in a spiral, there was no way anyone could survive that. It killed everyone who walked across it. The trade off was permanent toxic fallout, but it was worth it as my base was built underground anyway.
