This is DIABOLICAL. I was literally considering doing this the other day. 🤣 I learned very early on that you could burn bodies with a mini makeshift crematorium. Molotov cocktail + mini granite building. This is fantastic.
This is like 5 years old now so kinna useless but anyone looking to make one of these a couple of hints: Make those 3 3 tile corridors into one continuous 1 tile corridor. Then use alternating sandbags ( or boulders for cost efficiency ) and empty tiles so they have to climb and crawl all the way through ( this pulls them into a big clump for you ) and finally just put more junk in there to burn. You can amp the temperature up in that corpse oven to about 300c in a matter of seconds that way.
#1 Only if there is an abundance of wood either farmed or stockpiled Bonus points if several colonists are constructors 15+ already. #2 The goal is not to kill the attackers as fast as possible, it is to incapacitate attackers as "safe" as possible.
hold on... did you just defeat most of them through smoke inhalation? I didnt even know that that was a thing and i have hundreds of hours into this damn game.
That's the point of the set up. The goal is to down the raid with heat stroke rather than killing them. This way you can capture more prisoners for organ harvesting, recruitment or selling. Without the vents the room will get way too hot and most of the pawns inside will die and the ones who do survive will have much more severe burns.
Considering the temperature of a frying pan is around 300C those ppl withstood almsot double that for like 5 minutes and some even survived - impressive
Close them in a burning building, listen to them scream and desperately bang on the doors, until their eyeballs melt and die slow painful death... I love this game
I never liked kill boxes and always wondered why developers don't care about exploits like this one. It kills my immersion. It could easily be fixed. Repairing an item like an electric air conditioner should not be possible while someone is damaging it. Repairing of items, such as doors and walls could be possible during the combat but with way lower efficiency and with additional resource use so that an enemy can actually prevail. Additional construction during combat should also be way slower and resource-demanding. AI is just plain stupid here. They should be detecting the cause of their damage. If there is a fire nearby me that wasn't caused by me and I'm indoors, let me put it off. Rimworld already has logic for locating and extinguishing the fire and whether a room is roofed, indoors, cold, hot, etc. Traps also need rework.
yes because if irl u were raiding a person and an explosion happens the first thing youll think of is lets extinguish the fire xD its a realistic trap since it a furance not just a hallway filled with traps and they stupidly just walk across them its a believable trap i mean u can watch WW2 documentary and youll see how effective it is.
You do not need kill boxes to play the game effectively, you should know That and if the raiders were incredibly realistic on their strategies it would detract from the overall enjoyment out of the game, though if you do want that form of realism in a top down, 2D cartoonish game, there are mods in the workshop to satisfy your woes! Other people having their own forms of fun shouldn't detract you from yours.
I set mine up using 1-2 wide corridors with sandbags every other space and don’t floor it for the maximum time possible to funnel them inside, i Molotov a couple wooden stools and then just wait. Once most of the raiders are suffering from extreme heat stroke I vent the room and loot
whats the purpose of the vents next to the side doors? to cool off room afterwards?
We ain't making it out of art school with this one🔥🔥
nice design, next time use carpets because it will mean the floor lights up really fast, burning the little bastards before they know what's coming
Why they didn't attack Skye when they came in?
what you can also do is turn the bodys into chemfuel inorder to set up traps l8er
LMAAAAO I was expecting raiders to set chairs on fire, but you literally send specially bred Allah Akbar Rat
the design is very human
That was only slightly under the melting point of lead. Wow
beautiful
Never realized the full potential of an oven for recruits…
I love those killbox at work movies.
I mean, they could have just NOT tried to raid the colony. Civility would go a long way to not being boiled alive.
Cool Video. It Taught me how to Raise My kids. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you for your your hard work at designing an extremely proficient colony.

Love that one pawn just stargazing while the raiders all burn.
Something like this happen to my colony on accident
A joke about a certain part of WW2 and their crimes could be made
"Furnace Duty"
Thats fucked up
Im guessing you didn't use wooden doors
i reckon you could of just shot them to save about 6 mins of your life :)
Cool
tip to improve this: build it with wooden floors to make it so the whole room burns, not just the ending area
the point is a slow burn so they can be taken alive

@@ukukutt1926 Just how "alive" are we talking? I mean the survivors are bound to be covered in burns and those have a high chance of getting infected.
@@JesusKreist infections dont kill if u have herbal lol
@@ukukutt1926 Wrong. Plus if you meant to write a funny comment you failed at that.
This takes more effort than an auto turret kill box.
Sappers. Also, it’s not as fun
1. Auto turrets are higher tech, this can be done tribally I think 2. This has way more captures, auto turrets will kill most
I fucking love your boomrat ignition source, I'm dying but not as horribly as these poor souls. 10/10
I would put fences in your kill box to slow the raids down and giving you more time, also they work as fuel
Owl wanted to get in to the party too
hold on... did you just defeat most of them through smoke inhalation? I didnt even know that that was a thing and i have hundreds of hours into this damn game.
It’s not, They had heatstroke and burns from the heat
That's fucking brutal, Nice.
make wooden floors next, fire spreads hella fast.
guau
There are a lot more heat box designs with less maintance required but this one is cool too.
Got any?
0_0 fire....
the blocks on the right seem to leak heat. It shouldn't take this long

@@Marbul oh, interesting
It was so fresh that even alive

He has temp in retard units, but that's still around 250°C. Which is still somewhat impressive.
Clothing (if not flammable) can be a hurdle
It was Fahrenheit, so it was actually around the same temperature at its hottest. Still impressive thoughf
Aw, fond memories: when walls used to be walls in the Rim - and not cotton candy cardboard simulacra.
Brutal
That alot of graves
The one dude who just starts attacking a random wall😂
A bit overcooked for my taste

Good job
just like crabs in a steaming pot
