    Bummer about the knee, hope nothing is seriously injured, and hope to see you shredding again soon. If it persists you should definitely get it checked by a professional because knee pain is much more serious than a rolled ankle or a sprained wrist. Knees are a long term issue that you use everyday. Maybe some PT and stretching could help relieve it

    For me personally if I don't sleep well my skating suffers but more importantly if haven't eaten well I skate terribly

    I can solve your melatonin issue. Most people don't realize you're suppose to take 1 MG OR LESS (if you can split it). Most bottles at Walgreens are 3, 5, and 10 mg. That's where the grogginess comes from taking way too much. Look up people taking less melatonin and getting better results it's a common story. Amazon has a couple of 1mg bottles

    How often do you stretch, and I mean actually stretch? Can you stand straight and touch your toes? If not, you seriously need to incorporate some type of stretching routine. The tighter your hamstrings and calves are the more stress is being applied to the knee area. I tore my meniscus when I was 25 and it was partly do to being overly tight in my hips and legs. Not saying you're going to have the same problem but you're in your 30's now and the older we get the harder it becomes to maintain flexibility. I know I'm talking to deaf ears but please take some time to improve your mobility.

    This is so stupid if you think just sleeping more is a quick fix. You’re better off lifting weights / getting stronger by doing plyometrics

      Skating is not all about strength and power, it's body-mind connection mostly, controlling all those precise movements, all those tricks have to be in your muscle memory to be done efficiently and consistently. Sleep of course consolidates information. Makes perfect sense to me.

      @@pawloiox2585 yeah no doubt sleep is just the bare requirement. For a skater or athlete who’s already getting enough quality sleep would benefit from sport specific exercise
