- Vin Diesel might have established himself as a global megastar after the Fast & Furious franchise became a multi-billion dollar property, but his true fans will always remember how he announced himself as an action star in Pitch Black. The fancy goggle-wearing antihero with a lot of swag won over the fans, and this sci-fi horror flick went on to become a smashing hit. Fans had to wait quite a bit for the sequels, but they have always been worth the wait, with The Chronicles of Riddick in 2004 and Riddick in 2013 both being well-appreciated sequels.

Oh, hell yess! I can't wait! I was never a fan of The Fast And Furious franchise but, I'm a diehard Riddick fan. I will actually get out to go watch this movie when it comes out.

Pitch Black and sequels quickly became my fave series strictly because of Riddick being Vin Diesel! His portrayal of that character was epic!!
People seem to overlook the animated Riddick movie DARK FURY, the art of which had a very AEON FLUX (the MTV series) look and feel to it.
I like that movie alot.
Specially as it is the Official story between the events of Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick that explains a lot of the interactions between Riddick and Tombs and the first conversation between Jack and Riddick in Crematoria.

I have never watched any of the Furious movies before, but l absolutely love the Riddick movies as well as the character himself. Hopefully Diesel will make more sequels before he gets too old to play the role, the same way that Snipes has gotten too old to continue his Blade movies. But...l love both franchises and both characters, and l am always comparing the 2 iconic characters.
Don't wast your time or brain power on them! They suck compared to the Riddick movies!
I watched Chronicles every year.
Saw Pitch Black with my grandpa as a kid, prolly 10-11 or so. It scared the hell out of me, but I became obsessed with Riddick as a character after that. That movie had a pretty effect on me honestly

I've always loved Chronicles (part 2) I thought it was such a deep story with the necromancers and multiverse etc. It wasn't only Riddick vs aliens.
All other characters were great. Kind of reminded me of Dune. An epic.
Right there with ya. Maybe I'm terrible at understanding the whole story of Chronicles, but I walked away thinking that if you had received the mark of purification to be a necromonger, when you died you'd be reborn in the Underverse. So it made sense to me that when Jack (Keera) died, all Riddick needed to do was die himself and he'd enter another strange and crazy universe to try and rescue her and then find a way back. I mean, the Lord Marshal went there and came back, because that's how he got the powers of speed he used, right?
I haven't been to a movie in a theater since 2019. If Riddick Furia comes out I'm there no question. 🤠
a friend of mine made the blades for the bone and stone folding sword in the third movie he had to make two because vin diesel had to have one of his own.

I remember meeting Vin when I was 12 I was a big fan of pitch black and iron giant and he asked my parents if it was okay to hang out with me for a bit and talk and he asked me if he should do a sequel to pitch black and i of course said yes! He is one of the nicest celebrities ever super cool dude I got a nice photo with him and hung out with him for like 30 mins

Chronicles of Riddick is my favourite film in the franchise. Riddick is a mix of John Rambo. Snake Plissken and Conan the Barbarian.

I think Fast and the Furious suffers from the same things Michael Bay experienced with Transformers. Bay said that he wanted to stop, but people kept showing up for them, and the studio kept throwing vast amount of money at him. I think the same is happening with FF.
The second Riddick movie was fantastic. You could really see the larger budget in the end product. So sorry that they lost a lot of money on it. I would love to see a fourth movie of that caliber. The second was on a larger canvas like the Star Wars movies.
Love these three movies. I can't count how many times I've seen them. I play them to sleep, in the background while I work or just to watch again.

I have seen them all more than once. The best part is you can watch it again and the story line just pulls you in. Now that is a movie worth watching.
If they do make another one it is clear it will have to be a story that has another growth to not only the story line but also the character as well.
The path of the next even could even dig a bit deeper into how lucky he really is. The best way to test that is something that not only has to be incredibly lucky but in
such a way that just not only blows the fans minds but even the people around him. We have only seen a taste of this luck skill I would say. More is always welcome.

Riddick is great, and I love that its underrated. Riddick (2013) is such a great follow-up to Chronicles of Riddick, I would like to see him get revenge on the Necromongers and finally find out the mysteries of Furya.
Pitch Black was a nice surprise, but Vin is a total head case. His need for control and lack of professionalism keeps him from creating any new success outside of Fast which also sucks.
I was playing the game Magic the Gathering when the movie Pitch Black came out, I immediately saw a likeness with the slivers, which were already terrifying monsters. Naturally this made them even more scary to me, and made the movie more enjoyable.

I don't understand why he'd go to Furia. It's a destroyed world that the Necromongers wiped out. No one has ever really engaged me on my thoughts but I'll try again. After Chronicles, I thought the stage was set for Riddick to enter the Universe that the Lord Marshal went to, the Underverse, which was the place he got his speed powers. They mentioned that after you got the mark of Purification, the only thing you had to do was die to cross that threshold. The whole conquest the Necromongers were up to was to wipe out life and bring everyone they could to this other Verse. So when Jack (Kira? Kera?) died, I was expecting Riddick to come to realize this revelation, die himself, go to the Underverse, fight whatever insane alien stuff there, rescue Jack, then find a way to return. I thought this would have made a freaking amazing conclusion to the Necromongers.

I never heard the films until I met my bf, 10 years ago. I have been a big fan of Riddick ever since. I love the characters and the world so much. I'm shocked the second one didn't do so well in theatres, its my favourite of the three. So excited for a 4th one.

This Film franchise is quite underrated and under the radar if you ask me. I think its partly how Vin Diesel is mostly viewed (no offense) as a no brainer action flick actor, myself included.

I played a Xbox Riddick game, forgot exactly what it was called I just know it starts by walking you into a prison accompanied by guards & your able to look around at other inmates, that was a solid game, unlike any game I played prior & the movies are solid.

There were 4 of Us guys sharing a house back in 2000, gfs would come and go but Pitch Black was the mainstay on the TV. GF's would say "not again". They just didn't get it.

I loved this series to death the game was good from what little I remember about that but I really hope we get a few more Riddick movies
Always liked the Riddick movies. I do think that would be an interesting addition to his background as a character; that he joined military service for some world or some sector, and then just could not deal with either the rules, or when something REALLY war-crime-y happened, and took action against it, which ended him up in a triple-max as a coverup. And then he just...did his own thing after that.
Hardly ever see any good content when a character gets a backstory after the fact. Being a furyion or w/e is one of the worst decisions for the series, I was more than fine with a psychotic serial killer who basically only killed when someone deserved it being a good guy. Same with the elemental thing, it took a lot away from the necromonger thing. Also sad they didn’t continue the story in riddick even though I appreciated them returning to their roots because mysterious riddick in pitch black is one of my favorite anti hero’s and never had been surprised by a death in cinema since the 6th sense. I’d give pitch black a 9, chronicles a 7 and riddick a 8. I don’t know how many animes were made but the one I saw would def be a 5 or 6. I don’t recall many movies being able to return the magic after so many years from the original but riddick was def a glimmer of hope.
