I realized the power when I received mine also. Got mine in a 25 cal for ammo cost. Basically had to turn the reg down to 120 and the power wheel down 10 clicks just to get it under 1000 fps with 33 grain pellets. Out the box it was pushing 48 grain slugs @ 900 fps. 48 is not a misprint !!! 34 grain pellets/slugs were going sub sonic. I think I will mainly use it for slug shooting because of the power. Even at 28 grain pellets flying at 980 fps, the gun was accurate @ 55 yrds. I got to have a shoot off with this gun and my 25 cal Impact, and my Hercules Bully. Should be a lot of fun between the three pushing 40 grain slugs.
@@anthonygillespie7233 is it loud in .25? how many joule you have for this speed?and that shot count?id you have chance to shoot huben k1 to compare them?
why did you stop at 33.9 grains for .25? im guessing you can get more power with heavier pellets at .25. I always wondered why the .22 and .25 max power numbers were so close on this airgun, this makes sense now.
These western rifles are awesome, I have a .45 .35 .30 rattler . Just recently received those and the guys a AOA did some custom ceracote on them and they are beautiful, I am sure they would send you pics if you want to see them. I also just received a 25 compact with a laminate stock on it and it’s very cool, I liked it so much I ordered a .30 compact and they are going to do a ceracote and a laminate stock on it also. I saw the gentleman’s comment about being ugly, and I couldn’t disagree more. The only thing I don’t like about the rifle is the shoulder pad, it’s not awful but I am not crazy about it. The wood or laminate stock fixes that for me. My 22 sidewinder I have had to longest and started me down the western road and I am totally hooked. Jake at AOA has helped me a bunch, but I have talked to most of the guys there and they are all knowledgeable and helpful. On another note , my favorite air rifle at this point (not in semi) is the DAYSTATE Wolverine, and I see AOA has a sale on the LIMITED Blue one at $ 1k off, that is the bargain of the year in a premium quality rifle. Thanks to the entire AOA staff for all there help!
Good review! I like the fact that you can remove the magazine to ensure the gun is clear. That's a big concern I have with the Rattler, but hopefully they'll eventually fix that. What is the maximum slug length the mag will accept, and how far past the moderator would the 700 cc bottle protrude?
Not really. It bears a superficial resemblance to the Impact, but then most bullpup PCP airguns these days look vaguely like the Impact but the actual mechanical guts of the Impact is night vs day different in terms of design and function. There's the most obvious difference, that the Impact is a lever-operated repeater while the Western Sidewinder is a self-loading automatic with a full "rock 'n' roll" switch. If you want to talk similarities, the Western Rattler and all of their other models are actually--I'll say this as politely as I can--a 'variation" on the original Huben semiauto air rifle. Not sure how Western gets away with making air rifles that are essentially exact duplicates of the Huben but Western is getting away with it so far. Maybe the patents filed on the original Huben are a bit weak. Or maybe Huben--a first-of-its-kind innovative airgun--failed to have any patents filed on it at all. If so, it was not an intellectually brilliant move. Having said all that, and without being able to handle or shoot either the Western or Huben, I will say that the Western appears to be a nicer piece of work. And Western has come up with its own set of modifications that greatly improve upon the original Huben design. For instance, a nice, simply, mechanically robust, and REMOVABLE magazine. something none of the Hubens I'm aware of have adopted. If I were buying, I'd probably go Western. But I would feel entirely comfortable dropping money on a Huben, too. Both are nice. Even if both are so expensive it will make you gag up on your Wheaties if you're shopping while eating breakfast.
Why can't you turn the regulator pressure down under pressure? The manual also says you should only turn the pressure up when the gun has pressure. I can't figure out why either of these things makes sense though.
The air pressure makes friction on the adjuster seal. In order to reduce the pressure you would have to overcome all that pressure to force it back. On the other side, increasing is low friction on the seal, so you can move it and the air pressure will increase to fill the space.
@@airgunsofarizona Ok I think I see why I wasn't understanding. When you look at a typical diagram of a regulator it shows a diaphragm with a pressure relief valve, whereas a HPA regulator uses a piston with seals, and if I understand you correctly it's those seals that can get damaged since the piston will move a bunch if you turn the pressure down.
At the premium price point of this gun, it should have a match grade 2-stage trigger, IMO. Overall though, looks like a heck of a gun. Would love to have one.
claiming that they do it as good as anybody (about efficiency (17:28)) well, in fact its not even close. not a single airgun even comes close to the efficiency of huben. on my gk1 with a 315 bar fill and 33,9grain jsb i get 22 shots with lowest shot fpe at 52 and avg 53.4. thats almost half the shot count with only 85cc, no plenum AND a much shorter barrel.
💡The very best thing I've seen in this video is that you showed us the max speed AND the weight of the pellets that this airgun can produce, instead of just saying "this gun makes ___foot pounds" like MOST of the idiotics do!👍 I can't stand it when these nuts over here in America adopts that stupid foot pound crapp, and not say the weight and speed🤮
He didn't really tell you the max speed or fps. Believe me, I have it in 25 cal and they said the max fps was I thing was 1035 fps and I can honestly say they were holding back. Maybe because if they really said what the max fps was it would bring ATF into play. Out the box it was pushing 34 grain slugs super sonic which is why I had to turn the reg down and the power wheel down. Gun is a BEAST !!! PUSHING 48 GRAIN SLUGS @ 900 fps out of the box, so you know what it was pushing 38 grain or less at

@@anthonygillespie7233 Yes the only reason I'd be tempted to spend the amount of money that they charge for this airgun is for pure unadulterated power😂👍 There's so many people that spend big money on certain airguns just impress other men, and the airguns can't even produce the power that a lot of lower priced airguns can, and they use that sorry excuse of shooting 800 to 850fps being the best speed😵💫 The numbers that you've stated that this airgun can produce is phenomenal and that's what I'm looking for, THANKS👍🏼
@@Brianbri-nq3cc Well I don't think you would be disappointed if you are looking for power, but its also accurate as hell. Why do air guns have optics mounted a foot above the grip? Looks like more parallax than necessary.
300 bar is over 4000psi, which is more than scuba tanks are filled to.
How do you get a compressor that will do that?
