I’m soooooo envious. I’ve always wanted to go to Powell’s. Any bookshop you need a basket… I mean come on, ha, one day. August sounds great. I looove the US version of Beasts of a Little Land so much more than ours. Fab hauls from you and Jess. Happy New Year Noelle. Ps. Love CJ getting a shout out. She’s fab!
"I am I am I am" was one of my 2020 favourite books. It is absolutely stunning, some stories are stronger than others, but there is such a vivid quality to the whole, it's incredible. Highly highly recommend!!
Powell's in one of the best places in the entire world, I can't go in there without leaving with at least one or five books. Hope you are enjoying Oregon and all the rain we have been getting lately.
I could cry. I love Powell’s. We vacation every summer on the OR coast which means a stop at Powell’s for this mommy! My husband takes the kids and I get a whole afternoon to myself. Sigh… miss it and eager to go back. Thanks for this lovely video ❤️
Loved Powell's and other bookstores at Portland! That was the primary reason of me visiting Portland last year! So glad you got yo visit and meet Jess!
Noelle: I am I am I am is a gorgeous book, it is not devastating at all. You're gonna enjoy it immensely. Jess: just finished Still Life. And I am done for this year. On the 5th of fucking January I read the best book of the year, no clue what to do with my life. Happy reading ladies, fabulous collab.
Two of my favorite memoirs that I read last year : crying in h mart ( grieving the loss of her mother ) & between two kingdoms ( battling cancer ). Both very good audio books too, narrated by the authors.
i went to Powells the last time I was in portland and it was so amazing there are so many rooms to browse I could get lost forever 😍😍 I live in oregon but sadly not very close to portland so I always go when I can
I started following Jess when you shared her profile on your insta a long time ago and ugh I love her posts and reviews! Seeing y’all’s friendship grow is so beautiful! Y’all look so happy! Book buddies are seriously the best! 💖
Migrations its an amazing book, it really touched me, i thought the main character was insanely relatable and found it really easy to emphatise with, and also it made me cry more than once :). I really hope you end up liking it.
I'm reading Reprieve right now and I screamed when you showed it lol it's SO good. There are some SK references in it which makes it extra fun to read 😁

AHHHH! I love that you got to meet a new book-loving friend in person, and that you both got each other so many wonderful books, this is the greatest video of 2022.
Powell’s is my favorite❤️❤️❤️ I live in Seattle so the drive isn’t too far but I don’t go nearly as much as I’d like. Love your videos, they always make my day 💕
Powell's is such a magical bookstore. Did you guys get to go to their coffee shop? You and Jess have such great BFF chemistry. Glad you two had fun book shopping. 😀
Aww I miss Powell’s. The last time I was there was March 2020 when I had first moved there (a week before shutdown). Then I moved back to Utah at the end of 2020 and haven’t been back yet. Think I might go this fall when I visit my aunt
This was such a lovely video, even if I don't factor in Powell's, which is always a great idea and makes the video double lovely. I have only managed to go to Powell's once since the world turned topsy turvy the last couple years, but I have to drive my son to the airport this weekend so I'm going to go again! So excited.
This was such a lovely video to watch. I love content like this and just hearing about new books in general, plus getting to see some footage of nice bookshops is also a plus. Best wishes from England.

Two of the books you mention reminded me of one of my favorite authors - Tom Robbins. His books - Still Life with Woodpecker, and Half asleep in Frogs Pajamas, both which I need to reread.
I don't make resolutions as I'm so bad at keeping them, but I did start a booktube channel on Monday (!) so that is the new terrifying/exciting new goal. That bookshop looks fantastic - if I ever travel to Oregon that will be the place to aim for.
Noelle, this is the happiest I've seen you in a while. Would love to see more videos with you and Jess
