Yay a new video! Also, "excited" is either the past tense of a verb or a past participle of a verb, and participles can be used as adjectives. Thank you and good night.
Briefly, a Delicious Life actually is the fictionalised story of George Sand (the author) and Frederic Chopin (the pianist), their affair and their vacation in Mallorca (which all happened). Narrated by a ghost. It’s amazing!!
Girl where do you find time 🤷🏻♀️ Hours in my day = 24 Hours in Noelle”s day = 1024 I live my most happy productive reading life vicariously through you 💕
"A tree grows in Brooklyn" has a special place in my heart, one of my favorite books of all time. It is heartbreaking but in the middle but ends on a hopeful note. I hope you love it as much as I do. Francie Nolan it's one of my all time favorite heroines.
I read “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn” heats and heats ago and remember loving it SO MUCH I actually bought copies as presents. Have never re-read it though, and I’ve never seen anyone mention it so I was so happy to see it in your video, might be the motivation I need to re-read!!
Fish Swimming in Dappled Sunlight sounds incredible-I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it! Same with The Big Door Prize. I have Briefly, A Delicious Life on hold at the library because I’m also enchanted by it.
I LOVE A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. It’s so good. I really enjoyed A Lady’s a Guide to Fortune Hunting. I’m a big Jane Austen fan, so it helped fill that Austen void.
I cannot wait to read Jeannette McCurdy’s memoir. Added so many books to my tbr. Noelle your videos are honestly moments of bliss and escapism. Thank you. Hope you’re well 😄
One of my favorite things about the way you talk about books is the way you never make lgbtqia books sound “otherly” if that makes sense. You talk about it as a cute romance not a “cute lesbian/gay romance” It feels good to just feel like a part of everyone else sometimes 🥺
Excited is both an excited is an adjective. It describes how a person is feeling. However it can also be an adverb. Excitedly describes the manner in which someone does something.
The fact that you deal with depression is in a way very sad to me but also very comforting. I come to watch your videos as soon as they’re released and they bring me comfort. Cozy vibes
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is one of my favorite books of all time! Francie has my whole heart 💛 I hope you enjoy it! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts ☺️
I fell in love with This Time Tomorrow. Such a tender, touching read that made me think about all the things I took for granted of those people most important in my life. Not typically someone who cares for time travel but I now wish I could have more time for meaningful glimpses and interactions with my husband (who has passed) and both my parents. Hope you love it!!!
Good question! As it has been mentioned, adjectives ending in -ed are called participle adjectives, meaning they come from the past participle of a verb used in the passive voice. This means they always have a verb concord, which in this case is the verb “to excite”. If something or someone excites you, you are then - as a result - excited. You are not the agent of the action, hence the passiveness. Think of a convicted criminal. In this sentence, it is used as an adjective to describe the noun, but it comes from the fact that a criminal is only a convicted one if and when a judge has convicted them. Ergo, the criminal was convicted (by the judge); in this case, convicted refers to the action of to convict, and is not a descriptive adjective (called an epithet). It’s actually quite interesting (though I’m an English teacher so fairly biased).
I LOVE A Tree Grows In Brooklyn!!! I will warn you some people have said it’s slow. I never had a problem with that. I just love Francie Nolan’s world! I’ve read this many times in my existence, so I’m more than willing to buddy read
Just finished listening to "thank you for listening", and it was my first 5 star read of the year. I absolutely loved it. The audiobook version was was an absolute delight- thank you for the rec
I have to say, what I love about your channel are the titles that you mention that I would never have found on my own - Thank You - I am have been a fan for quite sometime and will continue to be!
This Time Tomorrow was such a good read!!! I loved that the time distance was more about a daughter/father relationship. Very captivating and I loved the story. Excited for you to read!
I can't wait for you to read Fish swimming in dappled sunlight. Just finished it at your recommendation and wow. Would be nice if you could include it in a reading vlog maybe, I'm SO curious to see your reaction omg omg
I'm on my terrible period and having flu shot side effects after a 9 hour lecture day of nursing school and this is keeping me awake and alive until I can go to bed tonight.
I have not seen The Big Door Prize on ANY social media platform! Excited you grabbed it. It was inspiring, and honestly- any book that makes me laugh out loud and questions why I'm on this Earth - is a good time. It didn't fulfill its synopsis in the way I thought it would, but a fun read for sure!
Dearest Noelle, I don’t have the time to do complicated puzzles and keep up with you in reading. Please stop being so amazing. Love, this crazy lady who loves your channel!!
No joke, I got this notification after I went to the mailbox to get two new books I ordered on Amazon 😫😫 I got Just Kids (a memoir!!!) and The Picture of Dorian Gray
I watched this yesterday and headed to the bookstore. I could only afford one book this month so I picked Fish Swimming in Dappled Sunlight! I’m EXCITED 😆 to read it
I cannot explain the amount of joy I get every time I receive an upload notification from your channel!! Also: WHERE IS THIS MUG FROM???? This is one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen!!
a tree grows in brooklyn is SUCH a classic. i had to read it in 7th grade for english class and it definitely stuck with me. tw for attempted SA and death (from what i remember)
Just wanted to say that I love you and your way to talk about books! You´re so enthusiastic about them, I want immediately to read every book you recommend!! P.S. Watching this at 6 am in Berlin, your videos are a perfect start in the day 🧡
I feel the same way as you, love when a woman tries to figure out her way through this world. New York is so exciting. These books sound terrific. I love the name Kitty! 🤣 Thank you for bringing them to our table. I have purchased so many books because of you. ♥️
Noelle you should look up the Magic Puzzle Company. They make puzzles with a surprise magic twist at the end. My favourite theme is the sunny city. It’s so beautiful!
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is in my top 5 favorite books of all time. Language masters student here to tell you that in the context which you used it, excited is an adjective. It can be a verb if you say "This book excites me" for present tense and "this book excited me" for past.
I love your talk and your voice! I'm so glad that I found your youtube chanel because I can improve my english while I listening to you talking about my favorite hobby: books!
My go-to coffee "recipe" is a regular spoonful of Beaumont Instant Classic Decaf with 2 heaping spoons of brown sugar, a dash of coarse kosher salt, Baker's Corner evaporated milk (unless you prefer black coffee, but I like mine a medium brown), and a dollop of whipped topping. Yum! However, you have to like sweet coffee. :)
I think "excited" is an adjective. It usually describes a person or animal (e.g. an excited puppy), but excite is a verb, and excitedly is an adverb.
Yes! Came here to say the same thing.
Excited can also be a past tense verb. As in the movie excited me.
I think maybe, 'to excite" would be a verb
You could also describe a puppy as ‘jumping’ but ‘jumping’ is a verb
"But if your name is Kitty... I'm sure you're lovely!"😂😂
Me: *has to make time to read*
Noelle: *posts video*
Also Me: *clicks within the first 20s and proceeds to watch a 24-minute video*
LITERALLY LOL
Same 😂
Exactly this 🤣
Amazing video. Even better video title.
At this point, I have to create a Kindle collection named "Noelle recommends" haha! I'm so thrilled to be adding some of these to my TBR! ❣
That’s a good idea! I need to do the same 🤭
Yay a new video! Also, "excited" is either the past tense of a verb or a past participle of a verb, and participles can be used as adjectives. Thank you and good night.

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is one of my favorite books of all time! Francie has my whole heart 💛 I hope you enjoy it! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts ☺️
excited describes a feeling of a noun. So it is indeed an adjective

Excited is both a verb (in past tense) and an adjective. It depends on who's getting excited and who's causing the excitement.
i'm EXCITED for Constance Wu's autobiography Making A Scene
I love puzzles! Don’t do them enough. I read Dear America back in February and really liked it. I read the audiobook.

In the UK puzzles are called ‘jigsaws’ because the pieces are (coincidentally) cut out using a tool called a Jig saw. Fun fact.
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is a wonderful

Absolutely living for the video title
I got so excited when you said it was also a puzzle haul lol
"Excited" I think is used as a verb in chemistry. Excitation of electrons into higher orbitals (energy states).
I love the background music. I feel like I'm discussing books with u in a coffee shop!
Loved This Time Tomorrow! I hope you love it too. I’m excited 😆 for you to read it.
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is in my top 5 favorite books of all time.
