100 % everything that you said needs to be changed, let's hope they listen to there customers. Looking at this machine but thinking of the Pro for the large dumping bed!!
Nice buggy, I have the 2021 hd 10 limited. It has door locks. But I think your doors are much nicer, besides can't lock them. I have 7500 miles on mine. Biggest thing I've noticed that has caused the most problems. Is the front suspension. Weakest part of the machine. I highly recommend you grease the fitting every time you wash the machine. The bushings in my opinion are not built big enough for the amount of weight and usage it gets. I was having alinement issues. And found out my bushings were worn. Put the machine up on jacks and shake the tires to see how much play you have.. Easy cheep fix replacing out the bushings and re-alining the front. Keep up with all the maintenance and its schedules. Fyi belt chang at 6000. You get to know these machines after a while. Today I found a coolant leak on mine. Not sure how to get to the dam hose and fitting to repair it.But I'm not paying 120 bucks an hour for some else to fix it. I will figure it out..Good luck with yours . And don't forget get to be on top of your maintenance.
I also live here in Wyoming! We just got the 2025 Can-Am Defender Max Limited like 3 weeks ago... Elk hunting I put 600 miles on it LoL. All the same issues with the new ones. EXCEPT now they have locks you can install. The 2025 comes with locks. Had to get a $500 WD electrics street legal kit. Turn signals are nice, I just installed it the other day. Also put in upgraded LED light bulbs, that is a 100% must. But you are right, for the price it should come with all these perks. My guess is every year they will put new features on it to get people to upgrade to the newer model, just like cell phone companies. Good video man! Thanks!🤘🇺🇸🤘 Good ol' Wyoming!
I looked a Polaris Ranger and Can Am defender! After looking the fit and trim of both machines I chose the Can Am! Polaris has one stupid shifter and their fit and trim was bad and they actually were more expensive than the defender! Everyone I know up north all run Can Am and it’s hard to find one up there because of that fact! We love ours and has held up to everything we’ve throw at it hunting and farm work!
I've got the same machine in stone grey. Just got it in June. I also have the same complaints as you! For the money we spend on a limited model, should come with everything from factory. Not limited, meaning you have to add. Very nice machine & also bias towards Can Am!
the cost of the competition with the radio is 4k more msrp than the limited. however i have a limited and i’ve installed a meyham manufacturing head unit in that spot you talked ab. it has a 7” display, water proof to extent but it’s in a cab anyway. bluetooth and wireless carplay
My '24 model looks just like this. I agree with your critic of this machine . We also discovered that the door seals show day light at the upper back corners, and our dealer had to adjust the doors to correct that . I don't have a blade for it yet, but its on the Christmas list. New sub, nice video, and thanks for sharing!
Great review. I'm with you. For 30 grand I would expect some if not all of those issues should be included. If not, an upgraded model with those needed items. The company knows these things are what most people want and or need. Marketing games. We can add another few thousand dollars for them. They are trying to appear as the better value. By removing what you will pay extra for.
Hello brother, I appreciate your feedback. The main comment you have that I agree with is the door locks. I love our machine. Thanks for your time and stay cool and safe.
I’m gonna say maybe a side by side isn’t what you want… idk. I looked at hp and trq , tow rating , load capacity. The insides of these machines these days is incredible! Checking cattle with it in any weather is a breeze.
Wait until you change the oil lol. I own this same model just camo. Also, my doors could seal a little better but I agree on everything you covered. I have a small 20" light bar on the front mounted inside the bumper and a couple pods on back and it makes a world of difference.
Definitely should have gotten the lube for life. 7500 miles on mine. And I have not changed my oil once. Dealer does it for me on a schedule. It helps keep that machine in good shape. I use mine alot. And they are to expensive not to take the best care you can give them.
What's the issue with changing the oil? I just bought one today, delivered in a few days, just curious what to expect as I'm not totally mechanically inclined, but I totally do the most I can with things before outsourcing.
Love my 2024 defender but I find the idling is rough & the gear lever is hard sometimes to switch from one gear to another, beside it”s a nice machine. I use it on the farm so for me it’s a working vehicle not a toy.
Ive never used and XMR, but my thought is the XMR suspension and other features are a little more sport focus rather then the defender is almost completely geared towards utility/work focus. I am in Casper.
Nice review.. I like these best as the engine is NOT below the seats!. I would add a Padlock hasp on both doors.. then send your mod in to a can-am forum and let the Can-am CEO look at that little mod. How's the defroster work? Well ... I hope if your plowing snow.
Defrost works good ! Only time I have issues is my own doing by shoveling snow and getting my cloths wet while body temps up then I steam up the windows a bit but nothing that causes me any trouble.
I had a 2019 Cab Model XT. (Basically the same as a Limited without the A/C.) Mine did have door locks and it also had a fancier instrument panel so I agree with that. For the wiper, use a coating like RainX on the windshield, it helps immensely. As for the street-kit, they should offer that model as they already sell it in Europe. You can add it but that's a pain in the ass. For your sake, I hope to god they upgraded the pwr window switches. I burned through those rather quickly. That was my absolute biggest complaint. Other than that, I would still take this over the comp. Better ingress/egress due to door design and extremely tight turning radius for its size. Lastly, good video but lose the mirror shades when filming, too distracting.
I had the same issue with my door switches in my 2019. I cleaned up the contacts several different times, but the issue always came back. I finally called the dealer and described issue. They knew of the issue and installed something (resistor???) and I never had the issue again. It was covered under the warranty.
Nice review! Im looking to get my first sxs to plow this winter but also have fun with. Been looking at the defender but not sure if I wanna drop 30k. Any Recs on alternate options or dealers? I’m in midway utah
you can find some other models from Polaris that have a full cab with AC and a plow for a little under 30K. But everything with a cab and a plow out the door is close to that 28-30K number. Driven powersports here in Casper has a decent amount of units on the lot.
I currently own a 2015 Commander with 18000 km (11000 miles) and I will be buying something to replace it in the next year or so. I really like the full cab on the Defender LTD but I cant believe they got rid of door locks. I dont feel safe leaving it parked outside in my driveway that way, and I dont want to have it taking up space in my garage all the time. I also dont like the speedometer, it's cheap looking and not nearly as nice as the current setup in my older Commander. Polaris seems to have copied the old speedometer system from Can Am for their SxS. I also can't believe they don't have turn signals. There are lots of trail systems where they would come in handy and many municipalities allow ATV's to ride short distances on town roads to get gas, food etc. CF Moto includes them on all their machines. Your complaints are not petty. I am partial to Can Am but if I am ready to buy a new machine and a competitor had locks, signals, horn, and better speedo for the same or similar money I'd go with the competitors because they obviously care more about their buyers. In Canada a Defender LTD is 35K plus accessories. That's very pricey for what these machines are and certain features are just expected at that price point.
I just got done driving this very unit right after we got a 5" + snow fall and had to get out to plow. The mirror in this sucks so bad as your eyes have a hell of a time trying to make out what your seeing in it....the vibration of the unit also helps make it "Blur" when shaking - making the mirror totally useless! I used the side mirrors tonight to get work done. Also is anyone else having trouble shifting between forward & reverse (With respects to the stick on the dash) end up fighting every time it seems. The plow set up is very limited as it once again uses the wench itself is not good for the use of up & down. there is no left right controls either with plow...you have to get out and manually select the direction of the plow blade. Quality of the plow reminds me of ordering out of those Finger Hut catalogs!!.....for what it's worth.
yeah man its close. wipers ac/heat. totally agree- where the heck is the turn signal and tunes. otherwise solid rig. do the windows drop down or are the stationary.
Good video, yes some maybe petty but hey you’re just letting people know. I have a 2019 xt and agree the headlights are like candles. Seems all BRP are terrible my skidoo is the same but like you say there’s a lot more good stuff than bad. Cheers

Not interested in turning my daily F150 Limited into a plow truck, the SXS weighs 2,000 lbs and is built to do this kind of work, way easier to maneuver in tight areas and why not buy a toy to have some fun every once and a while 😃
My ‘21 DL has blue painted panels. Both doors have outside locks though not the ability to unlock from the inside. Has been in the shop for warranty work on pass door not shutting properly so much that it could open while driving. AC wouldn’t come on for a while and the drivers side door window control would not work. The last two items seemed to be common complaints by others. I don’t like the chintzy cable keeping the doors from flying open. Don’t care for the suicide style door either. Responsiveness from the gas pedal in my 1000 cc engine is poor. Nothing like my Outlander 1000 XTP. Hard to see anything in the rear. Believe it should have more factory default features and options. It’s a beast in the trail and I’m the snow. Love the heater in the winter and AC in the summer.
Personally im not interested in doors on a UTV / or A/C ( heat no doubt) good looking machine- im liken the defender...im thinking base model for me ... thanks for the vid
Totally get where you’re coming from base model is a great machine, I just needed the fully enclosed cabin with heat due to all the winter plowing I do.
@@Dreamscythe1 At least some if not all of the Canadian CFMoto imports come with turn signals. The current US models I've seen do not have turn signals or license plate lights. My opinion on a lock, is the low life bastards will bust the door or break the glass to get in best to let them in. Sucks because I keep some survival stuff in mine. Yep very low tech, then stereo, ya should have it easier to put in gear. Lights suck. I had to put light bars on mine. FYI, the wipers yep, a slower speed and or a intermittent would be nice and to note, the bastards put a fuse box or a fuse spot for the wipers up under where the stereo would go.
For 30k I would not buy it, for that it’s over priced, no radio , no signal, no side mirrors , poor value, and as long as people buy this machine at that price, the price will remain high, so it not the company that stupid it’s the people that support the company greed. Just food for thought???😊 great video

I have the same machine but in the 4 door. I have the same complaints, the biggest one being the lack of door locks. I just put Beamtech LED bulbs in mine last weekend and they work great. Big improvement over the standard bulbs. Got them on Amazon for $30 dollars a pair. I had Driven install the turn signal kit when I got mine back in February. Well worth the money to have that done. I also did the light bar on the front bumper and that makes a big difference as well. One other thing I did was I bought a winch remote control kit on Amazon for $20 dollars and it works great. You are correct in that for the money these things cost, a lot more features should be standard. Great job and glad you are enjoying yours.
The ac problem is a Maintenance / lack if filter issue. The coil get clogged and then the high pressure switch trips out. The fix. Use a garden hose and clean the coil from where the , so called filter is. These machines get really dirty. And the systems in them needs to be taken in consideration.
I have the 6x6... mine my buddies and my brothers all ate the reverse chain before 200 miles. Super crap design. Got the heavy duty chain upgrade and no issues after that.
$30k for this is unbelievable and a total rip off, you can buy off lease a Tacoma for just a few bucks more….That has everything you want and can do most everything this can…..
I don't know how you can get up in the morning with the weight of the world on your shoulders. Maybe the Army Corps. of Engineers could parachute in to save you from your troubles. I hope you never burn your toast in the morning cause I'm not sure the National Guard you get there in time to save you.
I live in Southern New Mexico. I use mine like another everyday car. I can use it in the heat. Cold and rain. Street legal. And it fits in my toy hauler. For me it works and I live that kind of life style. But your right. I jeep 4 runner and a half dozen other vehicles could fit the bill with a lot less expense and maintenance. Good luck on the trail.

I’m thinking that the 2025 will have a large tough screen, with a couple of thousand dollar increase in price.
I’ll bet you are right 🤝
You just wait for the rear differential, front diff to blow out and steering rack failure. Rear gearbox is bad.
Tint your glass.
Sadly they also still have a bwlt drive
Look how many issues the Polaris had compared to that. Canam is by far the best and longest lasting. Technology is nothing but issues
Sounds like what you want is a two door pickup
No I wanted a side by side , these are just things they could have done better 👍🏼
For 30k I would not buy it, for that it’s over priced, no radio , no signal, no side mirrors , poor value, and as long as people buy this machine at that price, the price will remain high, so it not the company that stupid it’s the people that support the company greed. Just food for thought???😊 great video
You’re not wrong, same thing with these crazy vehicle prices we keep buying them.
Any recs for a decent priced machine? Looking to get my first one and need it to plow but also want to have some fun on it.
@@erikthompson9753 Check out the CF Moto lineup, price, value, and quality, all of which is lost in the market today with the big Japanese companies Honda Yamaha Suzuki Kawasaki, do the research and think about is it worth paying more money for Japanese make or save your money and buy your extras.
Where are you from
Wyoming 🤟🏼
Great job and glad you are enjoying yours.
yea thks
Is this casper ?
Yes it is !
@@GoodysGarage i thought so. Im In bar nunn . 2023 defender max limited .
Nice 👍🏼
They are famous for the air conditioning not working !!
The ac problem is a Maintenance / lack if filter issue. The coil get clogged and then the high pressure switch trips out. The fix. Use a garden hose and clean the coil from where the , so called filter is. These machines get really dirty. And the systems in them needs to be taken in consideration.
I hear NOTHING but complaints
I have the 6x6... mine my buddies and my brothers all ate the reverse chain before 200 miles. Super crap design. Got the heavy duty chain upgrade and no issues after that.
Check out the manure.
no locking doors is a fail
$30k for this is unbelievable and a total rip off, you can buy off lease a Tacoma for just a few bucks more….That has everything you want and can do most everything this can…..
Well I guess I can take the Defender off the list. lol
For $30K all I hear is what is wrong, for a little toy at this price, all should be stout.
Built to a price.
I don't know how you can get up in the morning with the weight of the world on your shoulders. Maybe the Army Corps. of Engineers could parachute in to save you from your troubles. I hope you never burn your toast in the morning cause I'm not sure the National Guard you get there in time to save you.
Have one and agree with him 100%.
Weakest headlights I've ever had on a vehicle. No excuse for that.
😂 struck a nerve here ? Calm down, it’s just a UA-cam video about my own machine that I spent my own money on .
@@TheBandit7613get a truck if you want highway performance headlights
So weird these are not cars people does things made for the woods drive your car over to the boat ramp if you want to lock the doors…..
Be a patriot buy 100hp case or jd tractor 🚜
Lol, the name
SORRY BRO...I WOULD NEVER SPEND 30,000 DOLLARS FOR THIS CRAP....no radio..dash is terrible..bad lighting..cant drive on the Road...NO WAY😢😢😢
to each his own🤝
I live in Southern New Mexico.
30 k+ $ and no locks lmfaooooooooooooooooo
I got one and it's an overpriced piece of garbage
I'll bet you wipe front to back.
Buy a jeep and save your money

I’m not really sure why you need to be a tool to this guy making the video. I had no idea there was such trolls in the side-by-side hobby. Good grief son. Grow up.

Hello brother, I appreciate your feedback. The main comment you have that I agree with is the door locks. I love our machine. Thanks for your time and stay cool and safe.
