For Gods sake, Derek…. I guaren-damn-tee you could sell out 2 nights at the Keswick here in Philly ( you performed at the TLA here in 2000 if you remember ) during the Raingods tour. PLEASE COME BACK to the states, mate! I still get goosebumps every time I think of A Plague of Ghosts that you played here; fucking brilliant. Anyhoo, hope you come! Cheers 🥂
With respect: you don’t have a clue. Artists from the UK performing in the US first have to pay for a performance visa - which is $1000 for each member of the band *and each member of the crew*. The venue and/or promoter *also* have to pay a large fee for the processing of the customs I-129 form to bring the artist into the US. There will be *NO* further gigs of any sort added. If you had watched his recent episode of ‘Fish on Friday’, you would have seen that he has been offered - and has turned down - the offer of further shows in mainland Europe. He is focussed on his future crofting life and - in the nicest possible way - he has freely admitted he wants the already-scheduled gigs done and gone.
@@johnreeves6286 uh, yeah….. that clue is old to any Fish fan lol That’s why I “begged” him to come. I didn’t say that he would, I’d think that’s obvious to anyone paying attention. I’m quite familiar with the international touring issues. Tbh, I don’t give a shit. That’s the whole point. But thanks for stating the obvious, though 🎹
This has now been covered, by Fish himself, umpteen times across Facebook, Instagram, his UA-cam show, radio/magazine interviews, the lot. Artists from the UK are required to obtain performance visas, to perform in the US. Which cost several thousand dollars. And are required, not just for each band member, but for each member of the crew. Which is why UK bands such as Yes, Marillion etc get together as a group of about twenty bands and organise package-deal music cruises (specifically: “Cruise To The Edge”). They fly to Florida with crew/equipment (which doesn’t constitute ‘performing’), take a boat out from Miami, full of passengers that have paid *a lot of money*, sail just into international waters, and all the bands play over ten days. This was never an option for Fish. He isn’t even playing Wales, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, France or Italy. The anticipated ticket sales just didn’t add up. So - and quite rightly - it’s a ‘farewell’ in person to family, friends and fans here at home.
This is going to be amazing!
Ele ainda tem disposição para sair em uma nova turnê...isso é impressionante!
Hope to make Nottingham next year.
Will be seeing you in Glasgow cant wait
