- Derek William Dick, beter bekend als Fish, is een progressieve rockzanger die bekendheid verwierf als songwriter en zanger van de Britse groep Marillion. Hij verliet de band in 1988 om solo verder te gaan en is vandaag te gast in Live uit Lloyd omnummers laten horen van zijn laatste plaat A Feast Of Consequences, zijn 10e soloplaat alweer. Vanaf vrijdag 3 oktober doet hij 4 shows in Nederland.

I miss the guitar part from Steven.
This song is simply a beautiful masterpiece. But I feel some sadness for Fish's voice, his vocal chords are all messed up.
He said in an interview that he used his voice the wrong way all his life and only when he grew older someone told him about that. Basically what he said is that he destroyed his vocal chords prematurely or else he would be would be doing well today.
And yet I feel that while he can no longer perform the older repertoire, his current gruff voice still works wonders for this kind of intimate acoustic balladeering.
I wish he'd make a couple more acoustic albums in the mold of Yin and Yang.

It's such a shame listening to this. Some of my favourite singers have succumbed to time and years of straining their voices and really can't do it anymore. One of Fish's best lyrics. Fortunately, Marillion still do this occasionally and perform a stunning version.
Fish hat in einem einzigen Livesong auf der Bühne mehr Stimmbänder investiert als Roland Kaiser in seinem ganzen Leben auf der Bühne. Habe ich jetzt sehr übertriebene? Ich denke da an Songs wie Forgotten Sons oder Grandl....was für ein stimmlicher Aufwand....und das über Jahrzente. Dass da die Stimme leidet ist doch wohl logisch!!🙋♂️🙋♀️😻🥰
