MacGregor has always been a family favorite of ours when the kids were growing up. It was 20 years when we last visited so when we were there a few weeks ago, it was like going to a new park. Things were much different. It is still a favorite, but now in a new way. Love the dog beach and the bike trails. We still have lots to explore...but that will be for another trip😊
Hello Coles! Always enjoy your videos. Just wanted to thank you for the tip regarding the steep hill. My kids have renamed it “Cheryl hill” and requested we always go that way when arriving or leaving from the park. Have a great summer!
You really can't get the feeling from just watching the video but it really gets your stomach and Cheryl always reacts the same way. It's a lot of fun. Happy camping!
It should be noted there is a new fill station at the entrance to the park with threaded fittings and away from the dump station. Watch for the little sign as you enter the park.
Kincardine normally was has a bagpipe parade every Saturday night in the summer . We have a farmers / flea market in Victoria park on Monday morning .Kincardine is a wonderful place to visit. Just south of McGregor PP . Love your videos Could you please have a map with a spot showing where the park is at the beginning of your videos. Thank you.
Great park. One of my favorites. Too bad a lot of the beach eroded in the 2019 flooding. We loved the dog in beach, but was much smaller when we returned in 2020.
Great family park. Took my kids for first time last year, short trip. They asked to go back next year. It's a nice drive to get there, very little traffic!
You probably dont give a damn but does anyone know a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid lost the login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me
@Marcelo Jamari Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
That steep road is amazing. My wife and I were completely oblivious the first time we went over. Scared us both half to death. It's a nicer drive now too since it's been paved.
I love taking that road. The GPS tells us to go one concession over and most people I know go via the other concession but I love taking that hill. Cheryl screams every time and the kids and I love hyping it up for her as we are about to hit it. I agree that it is much nicer now that it's paved. I feel safer now.
Hey Ben and Cheryl, I have been hunting through your videos and can’t find the one where you mentioned Sauble Falls. I remember Ben mentioned the kids (when younger) enjoyed the falls. I am most likely camping solo with three boys and my dog (husband can’t get time off work) so trying to limit the distance between campsite and falls. I did read the Rankin River meets with the falls and good for novice canoers but eluded whether it was closer to the east or west campground. I would really appreciate any insight. Thank you!
I mentioned it in S02E03 during Coles Notes ua-cam.com/video/3T4-owftJ0E/v-deo.html Interestingly I've recently been research Sauble Falls PP because we booked it for the first weekend in May. We have a waterfront site in the west campground. The falls are closer to the east campground and from what I gather the best canoeing is by the east campground which is upstream from the falls. I assume you'll be going in the summer and the good thing is we'll have a review of Sauble Falls out for you in May unless the pandemic closes the parks again for the 3rd year in a row. Lets keep our fingers crossed!
Thank you so much! That helps a lot. I also feel badly as I are-watched this whole video and then stopped at Coles notes! I am such a knob, but I did get re-enjoy season 2. :) I am super stoked for a video before my summer visit! I am hoping mid-August. I am crossing my fingers that covid does not get in the way this season. Missed out on Awenda last year, they had opened for day visits but overnight wasn’t open until the following week. So I said the heck with it, “We’re going for the day!” We had a nearly empty park to ourselves. 🥰 Thank you again for answering so quickly. Happy camping!
We have been going to MacGregor for decades. We have almost always seen snakes near the water. This trip was more than usual though. The snakes are not venomous. You'll be fine. No worries. Happy camping!
All the snakes around there are harmless. When you get a little further north you'll run into the Massauga Rattlesnake which is venomous. Happy camping!
We haven't noticed a lot of poison ivy at MacGregor Point. I'm sure there is some but nothing to be too concerned about. Pinery, down the road, is full of it. Happy camping!
@@ProdigiousReturn We came back from there a few days ago (Cedar Lane Campground) and yes, there’s lots of it in many places near the trails, not much near our campsite. You just need to be conscious of it, especially if you have a dog.
Unfortunately we haven't camped at the campground at Killarney PP yet, just interior camping on a canoe trip. We don't have a video. We hope to do one someday. Happy Camping!

Your website is a great tool, Wife and I been on all afternoon. Thanks guys!
Awesome. Glad you're finding it helpful.
Loved the snakes under the water
Do you use a special camera for filming under the water or do just use a waterproof phone pocket

Hahahah, that's hilarious "Cheryl Hill"! I always go that way because it gets Cheryl every time. Glad your kids enjoy it. Happy camping.
Thanks for this, I have wanted to go to this park for a few years now. I love that you chat with us while you show the parks
I hope you make it there soon. It's a great park. Happy Camping!
and the sunsets in Port Elgin are amazing.
Still some beach, but there's some length to it... I see what you did there. 👍 Nice review, thank you.
Amazing guys! Thanks for all your tips!
Our pleasure! Happy camping.
Thanks for your great detailed review, booked here in July and will be our first time 👍
Thank you for including the “end of the world” hill footage! My kids love it

This is my favourite park!
Cheryl did your hand shrink? :)

Thanks for the update!
I am hot tent camping next week on Birch Ave with my son. Cant wait to check out this park and the big road drop off lol. Another great review guys.
We've never tried hot tenting. It looks fantastic! The closest we have come to that is staying in a Yurt in winter. Have a great time.
Other than the small beach it’s a great park. Thanks for the review

We wish we would have gone a few years ago to see it in its heyday. The campground itself is very nice, it's just too bad about the beach erosion.

Super curious! What road is that!!!
@@dianamora6238 Sorry if you get this twice, look up 167 Bruce Saugeen Townline Road. That's the approximate top of the hill.

I’m going in here in a couple weeks for the first time! Any idea if there’s fishing spots available in this area?
Not really any fishing at MacGregor Point. I don't know if there is any good fishing in the area outside of the park.
@@CampingwiththeColes Thanks for the reply, sounds good!
We are going to MacGregor for the first time this summer. I was so excited until I just saw the snakes in your video. Is there a lot of them?

One of the biggest selling points for us here in Stoney Creek is that you don’t have to circumnavigate Toronto to get there.
We hear ya! We try to avoid Toronto at all costs.
How’s the dog friendly beach at mcgregor point?
I neever been there . Always sauble beach or the pinery which I had a bad experience
I was in charge of building that park. It was a challenge.
Wow, you were in charge of building that park! Thanks you so much for doing a great job. It's been our go to park for our family for many years.
I appreciate your mentioning snakes. I'm phobic. But if I know they are harmless, I might be able to cope.
All the snakes around there are harmless. When you get a little further north you'll run into the Massauga Rattlesnake which is venomous. Happy camping!
you guys rock
Thanks!
Are there public toilets with showers or do you yes the trailer showers
The comfort stations have regular flush toilets and showers however due to Covid restrictions the showers are temporarily closed.
@@CampingwiththeColes I will use my trailer shower & toilet then thanks seem the time to book is weekday not weekends
what kind of snakes were those? Any idea?
They are Northern Water Snakes. They are completely harmless, they just look scary.
Question…..how is the poison ivy in this park? We have never been and have a dog. Should we be concerned?
We haven't noticed a lot of poison ivy at MacGregor Point. I'm sure there is some but nothing to be too concerned about. Pinery, down the road, is full of it. Happy camping!
We are there now. It’s full of it. It’s around the entire parameter of almost every road and site. We are in Huron campground.
