- The Beach Boys perform I CAN HEAR MUSIC and KOKOMO with Kathy Triccoli on the episode of LIVE WITH REGIS AND KATHIE LEE that aired on September 2nd 1996 while they were promoting their album STARS AND STRIPES which featured many guest performers.
Kathy has a beautiful voice ❤❤❤
Beautiful ❤️
Carl Wilson’s vocals are on point every time 👌❤️ He’s deeply missed.
Abso-frickin-lutely! Man, next to that soulful, mellifluous voice you can really hear how, thin, nasal and reedy Mike's lead vocals are. As a parts singer on the low end, Mike is just fine.
Of course Carl had the voice of an angel and was amazing. He originally did I Can Hear Music and was incredible. I still get chills hearing him sing it to this day
I am a Beach Boys fan and saw the video of Laurie Morgan I think listened for a while and it was ok but came across I can hear music with Kathy Troccolli in the studio and WOW !!! She fits in so well with the boys , her voice is so perfect for that song. It made me Smile
She's soooo gorgeous too .🥰
Beachboys just hasn't been the same . Miss Carl Wilson, he was the soul of the Beachboys
It's looks like Joey King very vocal
Carl Wilson - voice of an angel
R.I.P. Carl. The world has lost a wonderful voice.
The Beach Boys, a musical and OH so American treasure.
If I have ever enjoyed a vocalist more than KT doing this song I cannot recall-she is the absolute best
Wow...she is good but k.d
???? One of the best!
Kathy still singing Today ! 👍
Golden harmonies and melodies
Rest In Peace Carl
Nothing is ever the same as the orignal but she does a awsome job!
Kathy is awesome on every level.
My god
They have Carl Wilson there.
Of course they know Kokomo.
He was great.
One of the Giants that walked the earth.
Much enjoyed this video of about 28 years ago, with Kathy Triccoli and the Beach Boys , on the "Live with Regis and Kathie Lee show! This is a beautiful tune and Kathy Triccoli sings it just right. She looks great and this video will be in my bookmarks. Thank you "You Tube"

I bought the Stars and Stripes CD in 1996 - my first Beach Boys album since Pet Sounds, and remember like it was yesterday, getting chills hearing Kathy Troccolli's opening notes. Still do.
Great CD.
Lorrie Morgan’s Don’t Worry Baby my favorite.
@@briandriscoll8857 she was my "runner up" favorite...
Kathy is having a real good time.
Thanks for sharing, love Regis
GREAT job!!!
What a music! I'll never stop of listen you Beach Boys!
I saw them a couple weeks before that in Kansas City, August 13th, 1996. Such an awesome concert!
Saw The Beach Boys 2 other times (Mike and Bruce in 2014; and Brian, Al, and Blondie Chaplin in 2018). But still not the same with the 2 separate groups, and definitely missed Carl’s voice from both groups).
Kathy has a beautiful ❤️
Absolutely great I love it !
This was way cool! A rare unproduced live Brach Boys Jam! Epic!
Love it!!!
Thanks 👍😘🇸🇪
Wow, brilliant, just love the music here, great video too, thank you for sharing, SUBSCRIBED ! (The Ladykillers Birmingham England)
Thank you...will check your channel out!
I used to have a branch of our company based in Lincolnshire and traveled all over your "neighborhood" selling grinding wheels....obviously Sheffield was a focus. Love where you live.
@@ClevelandLiveMusic prob supplied IMI where I did my apprenticeship ?, thank you for checking my channel out sir.
@@mark1966 we were working with Alpine Abrasive

Awesome bros...💔
Carl never needed a microphone his voice was an still is carried by the Angels
That's a very sweet thing to say about carl and it is precisely what is inscribed upon his tombstone
I totally agree with you. ❤
Not the same without Carl. I've listened to numerous other singers performing this song, Carl was by far the best.
Awesome
I love you, Carl Wilson
Of course nothing beats the original but she has a great voice. Reminds me of 60s girl groups voices like Ronnie Spector.
Kathy makes Ronnie sound like she has a head cold.
Kathy is a classy lady.
Fantastic!!!!!!
Kathy Troccoli Is best known in Christian music, but she had a good Adult Contemporary hit with "Tell Me where it Hurts" a couple of years before this. The studio recording of this is so much better.
I would love to know if she has a Christmas album
Give me Carl Wilson any day.
Oh come on. Kathy did a great job
K T ❤
When she did this in the studio with the Beach Boys it was much better. Probably because of the acoustics.
Stevee said 'To tell Ken he sent me'.😂👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks to my STeeVee friend!
Carl was there, he should have at least done a duet with Kathy
Wow, Carl Wilson was diagnosed with lung cancer just a few short months after this video. In retrospect his voice sounds so different. He's greatly missed.
Seems Carl had received his diagnosis of lung cancer when this was performed in 1996. He sang as long as he could.
He didn’t receive his diagnosis of cancer Untill 1997 so this was prior to his cancer
Someone has to say this, with all due respect to Kathy Lee, this version is on the foot hills compared to the peak Carl's once in a generation voice reached.
And Regis got the name of the song wrong . . .
Too bad Cathie didn’t do mainstream rock. Great voice and stage presence. Could have gone far
How does one get a voice like that
I 've had this great cd since release. "christian' is no longer a plus espescially in days of looming orange dictator.
I'm assuming this was done when Carl had his nervous breakdown
brian wilson had the breakdown..not carl...he's in the back...
Carl, Bruce, Mike, Al...and who is that other guy?
I think that's Matt Jardine, the son of Al Jardine. You can see him easily, wearing a black T-shirt, in the video of them in the studio recording I Can Hear Music with Kathy. Heck of a good singer.
I think there’s Brian at the piano
@@Sacha_Kudli that's bruce at the piano
@@MrsStrut Oh yeah....for a second I thought it was Fabio!🤣
I've watched this video so many times that I realized the host of the show did not like his co-host. He didn't like her at all :D
Holy christ i bet you have a white van with no windows.
I can appreciate Kathy's contributions and all that, but the original with the Carl Wilson vocals is just the best, hands down and I don't think anyone has a decent argument over that. Even hearing the sound of a female vocalist trying to do Carl's vocals just leaves me cold for some reason. 😐
Agreed
Where’s Brian?
Brian didn't tour much with the band in the 1990s. It was a difficult time for all of them. Mike had sued Brian to get co-writing credits for a number of songs. Carl's and Brian's relationship was strained due to Carl having to rescue Brian from the influence of Brian's Brian's psychologist, Dr. Eugene Landy, whom Carl had hired for Brian about a decade earlier. There were also some disparaging statements made about Carl in Brian's heavily Landy influenced "autobiography," so Carl attempted to sue Brian, but it never went to court. Also Al had been generally dissatisfied with the group's music and other things at that time.
@@1401minstrel Thanks
@@1401minstrel Things were much better by this time, 1996, between Carl, Brian and Al. Brian was out from Landy's influence and dating, maybe even married to Melinda by this time and seeing reliable, board certified psychologists who had finally diagnosed his mental illness correctly. He had just put out that beautiful, Don Was produced album and concert video this same year. And he had recently reconciled with Carnie and Wendy, his daughters.
@@shawnuel True, but around that time Brian and Carl had a major dust up about Brian's songs he had written with Andy Paley. Carl nixed all of them, which hurt Brian deeply. Also, Carl had a few run-ins with Melinda around 1995-1996, centered mainly around the prospect of Brian finishing SMiLE. Having been around to see the damage wrought on Brian by the first SMiLE, Carl was understandably concerned about what revisiting that work may do to Brian. Melinda wasn't there with Brian in the 1960s, so she had none of those concerns. Hindsight tells us Melinda was right in that instance, as Brian did finish and perform SMiLE live in 2004 with the Brian Wilson Band.
@@1401minstrel I had always heard that Smile talk started again circa 1998
Hi Guys 😍💋 💝💖
not the beach boys,,,get a grip
Seems like an SNL skit.
The chick singing makes this whole thing look like a skit.
She was a Christian singer and like to many others once she could go secular boom. Off they go. But I guess her records didn’t sell. Not the greatest voice.
Terrible
Kathy Triccoli looks like a train wreck.
Horrible lighting. See her in the studio version also on YT.
Absolutely great I love it !
