Brian is my favorite musician of all time. I have seen The Beach Boys perform well over 100 times and Brian many times also. I only wish I could thank him in person for all the joy he brought into my life wth his songs.
Brian is one of the most interesting people I have ever heard of. In is interviews over the years he is very candid and honest. He also seems like the kid next door you grew up with. He seems like such a regular guy.
I had the great pleasure of meeting Brian Wilson, Carl Wilson and Hal Blaine in Hollywood , California. I cant remember the year. I think it was 1980. THE KINDNESS of these three gentlemen will always be imbedded in my mind. So polite, so kind. So Southern Californian. The meeting was by chance. We lost Carl, and Hal. But we still have Brian. God Bless him and may he continue to put a smile on other people's face. He will always be my hero.
The Beach Boys shaped my entire youth. The also shaped the entire od a generatin. Surfer Girl was the first album I bought my summer between 5th and 6th grade. Thank you Brian for a lifetime of joy🙏🙏🙏
Truly a musical genius. His struggles with drugs and mental health have certainly curtailed his musical production, but he’s still responsible for some of the loveliest music to come out of California. May he enjoy the rest of his days.
If only 5% of what is rumored about their father is true he´d still be a monster. But not to minimize theirs, most of us have survived our own life´s traumas, and many don't survive at all. God bless Brian though for bringing the world his music and inspiring others like the Beatles to even bring us more.
@jaelge There are plenty of people who will also attest to his father Murray's physical & mental abuse he would unleash on both Brian & Dennis, so it's more than just 5% true!!!
Murray took a 2x4 and wacked Brian across the side of his head when he was 10 or 12. Murray was probably beaten a lot in his youth, toxic abuse is multi-generation.
I've said many times that if I could choose to meet, in person, just one person in all of American history, it would be Brian Wilson. The more I've read about him, and seen and heard him talk in interviews, the more I've thought of him as a brother, rather than a famous singer/songwiter. In an interview he once said he would put on a Four Freshman album, listen to a little bit, then go find the notes on the piano. And I went, "Wow!' That is EXACTLY the way I learned to play BB's songs on the guitar, and esp. Carl's lead guitar parts. I listened to several seconds of his lead guitar intro in, "Fun! Fun! Fun!," lifted the needle off of the album, and found it on my Fender Mustang guitar. Thank you, LORD, for giving us Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys!
I’m 76 yrs old! I grew up loving those songs! I could never stand Mike Love. I saw him one time on a talk show making fun of Brian when he was having drug and mental problems, it made me sick. Love wouldn’t be anyone without Brian.
I have been listening to and loving the Beach Boys songs and great harmonies almost since their inception. I still remember sitting in the back seat of my parents' car after having bought their album "Shut Down, Vol. II", peeling the plastic off of it as the moonlight reflected off of the album cover, anticipating hearing it on our home HiFi "record player!"
Christmas 1964, I was 13 years old, my parents bought me the Surfer Girl LP and Shut Down Vol II. That’s all I wanted for Christmas! I still have the photo of me holding up those LPs and I still have those LP’s..I learned the bass guitar for out band in 1966, still have my bass guitar and my Fender Bassman Amp from 1966..became a radio personality for 35 years, now W retired at 73. met Carl, Mike Al, and Bruce before a Beach Boys concert in Hartford Connecticut. Met them at the airport, Brian’s mom Audrey was there and took some photos with Carl and his mom..what a thrill..that was 1995 in Waterbury Connecticut..
Brian has always produced music, having family members who went to high school with Brian , was fantastic for me as a young kid and I today still listen to his music 🥰👍
Glad Brian's finally living a life where he's cared for and able to relax. The last few years it's been painful to watch the live performances of this musical genius. Although he's not performing anymore, his music will span future generations.
Really me neither 🤔 I'm a big Brian Wilson fan I never knew that I mean, I've seen some of his cars thru out the years but never realized how indepth it was cool 😎
Ya I realize they have there car songs from the beginning but was not aware that Brian was still into them as that much anymore I've been a Beach Boys fan my whole life grew up less then a hour from the boys 😊
The beach boys are the very sound of summer, although I am 76 now I still am knocked out by the songs ie God Vibrations and California girls, they have never been bettered.
I wonder how much of this Brian wanted to hear...never knew he was in to the cars and real estate. Gloria Ramos and Jean Sievers presence along with Carnie certainly makes me feel he is in good hands
He should have 20 Grammy’s. A true genius in more ways than one. He invented a huge portion of Vocal and Rock Music. There will never be another Brian George Martin was blown away by Brian’s talent.
I fitted Mr Wilson with a Suit in HOnolulu when I worked at a Mens Clothing Store in the late 80's. (Ala Moana). My Claim to Fame! This Announcer guy on the Video is like listening to someone Scratching on a Chalk Board!!! URG>..
@@IffyBader Altillo, Ala Moana. . Not sure if he's still around or not. Dwight Spacek., owner. He was actually an Innovator in Honolulu. Brian's life is so cool, did a great job as a legend. He will never worry about money 'cause those checks in the mailbox will never end even after he's long gone.
I’ve always wondered how much fantastic music the world missed out on since Brian had such significant mental/drug problems from such a young age. Even though he continued to perform, he was never even close to being the same talent he was before experiencing all the problems. And the fact that he brought most of the problems on himself, voluntarily, is what makes it really sad. He ruined himself. In a way, I kind of think the Beatles had a lot to do with it, since he idolized them so much and wanted to be just like them. So he got into drugs, big-time. Unlike the Beatles, however, Brian literally blew his mind out, they didn’t. 🫤
Nice show, but I wouldn't call it a "deep dive." Just about everything presented here I have seen or been made aware of elsewhere. But yes, a nice encapsulation.
I’ve been trying to figure out the video by The Beach Boys “California Dreaming” , why the church and how it tied into the song of the video The Beach Boys put together please help me understand it what did the church have to do with the song “California Dreaming” I know the Mamas & Papas sung it and if it was written by Brian or was it written by a member of the Mamas & Papas member. Also why do people have to talk about celebrities net worth, whose damn business is. Nobody’s I love the Beach Boy their wealth has no bearing on my love for their music it’s none of my business. What do I care. Their music is great and that’s why I fell in love with The Beach Boys. People need to get a life and not make what a celebrities bank account is. They could be broke & I would still love them.
Listen to the lyrics, "I stopped into a church I passed along the way well I got down on my knees & I began to pray, you know the preacher likes the cold cause he knows I'm gonna stay".....

Surfer 🏄♀️ Girl is #1 for me-especially the “ending”! I’m so happy that Brian is still going strong and hopefully He will continue to do so ❤!

What a life! He’s a genius!!!
agree 100%- Mike Love said Brain is a genius in Jacksonville Fl
Truly a musical genius. His struggles with drugs and mental health have certainly curtailed his musical production, but he’s still responsible for some of the loveliest music to come out of California. May he enjoy the rest of his days.
agree 100%
The “traumatic injury” which made Brian deaf in one ear was the result of his father Murray hitting him in the ear.

Yup. Age 78 here. Saw them in concert. Brian wasn’t there. After show asked one of bodyguards. Guy replied “He’s in his room.”
Murray took a 2x4 and wacked Brian across the side of his head when he was 10 or 12. Murray was probably beaten a lot in his youth, toxic abuse is multi-generation.
Oh! I'm deaf in my left ear too and maybe for the same reason as Brian😢

That's all that needs to be said about it.

That is lovely. They adopted five children. What a kind, caring man Brian Wilson is. he deserves all his success.

What a tremendous Guy! Love you Brian and thank you for some of the best that will ever happen to you be heard!
I didn't realize that Brian Wilson was such a car enthusiast.
Really me neither 🤔 I'm a big Brian Wilson fan I never knew that I mean, I've seen some of his cars thru out the years but never realized how indepth it was cool 😎
If you listen to their first 3 LP's or so....the subject matter in many of them are cars:-)
Ya I realize they have there car songs from the beginning but was not aware that Brian was still into them as that much anymore I've been a Beach Boys fan my whole life grew up less then a hour from the boys 😊
Brian has always owned Corvettes. I wouldn’t have thought of him as a Ferrari guy though.
Well that's true going back in the day I know he had them hadn't seen any of his vehicles in years. Good to know 😊
Brian Wilson Is A Genius And Always Will Be
Had a bad Dad...and his so called Dr...drugged him all to hell...all the time...amazing still alive...genius musician...
My favorite group!
The beach boys are the very sound of summer, although I am 76 now I still am knocked out by the songs ie God Vibrations and California girls, they have never been bettered.
I agree, I'm 76, too.
I turned 78 today and I can't get enough of the Beach Boys.

No Brian = No Beach Boys 😎

Very sad he can no longer perform in any way. But he will go down as one of the most influential musicians of all time

So many of these poor narrations are failures at speaking English. Unsubscribed also!

This might’ve been good, but the robot voice mispronouncing words every so often really makes it barely watchable.
God bless him.
8:11 they show brian with his wife melinda (died 2024) and call her Gloria?????
Tthese are AI pics of Melinda and brian
Hey the AI is glitching lol
At 8.13 the narrator mentions his caretaker Gloria, but shows a picture of his wife Melinda. Come on, get it right please.
