Hey everyone,
i TOTALLY didn't see collars... nope! if i did i imagined them lmao. soz the weathers not co-operating much Tom, just know that the cows are grateful for the extra effort (as are we viewers lol)
Heading down to Lytham on Monday for a few days. here`s hoping for a dry spell. bringing the kids to the farm for a milkshake.
I think that's great. It's wet the ground will get crazy hoof prints then you don't want a cow stuck. The rain will help the grass grow for more grazing. Using those values of hay is a great idea. The fact of the new shed is that you can house all of them. And it's comfy.
Thanks Tom for sharing this video….since I’m in no way a farm girl, I had no idea that it could be too wet outside for cows and they wouldn’t like to eat wet grass! I figured they live outside a good part of the year so they’d be used to rain ( less flies maybe too) and that wet grass would hydrate them at the same time. I’ve learned something today, and I thank you. Your cows look nice and comfy inside and it’s thanks to you listening to what the cows are showing you what they need and want. Good on you. ❤️👍
Rain,Rain , go away!
You and Luke work so hard, it shows the rewards the farm is reaping. Keep up good work and pray the Misses is doing fine an healthy.
Hope all these people that say cows should be outside watch this, Dairy Cows HATE the Wet and Cold. Cow care is Everything
your so right to let them come inside in this weather , i fully agree , if they not happy they don't milk , you have the set up now and its not damaging the grazing grounds , it will come dry again so good the keep the grazing for later , you would never have done this with the old set up
It's times like these when a paddock system with proper road network would begin to pay off. The minute you start offering silage in the yard, you can forget about grazing out fields properly
I know you will be happy when the new parlor is done, but can you imagine how happy the cows will be with the bail out of the shed? SO much more room to spread out and do fun things. And of course, the new parlor is more efficient which leaves more time for doing cow stuff.
Would be interesting to hear how this impacted milk yields. Up, down, roundabout. Can you tell from the data if it was raining for example?
You do look after your cows wonderfully…. Beautiful shed, lots of tasty treats, new jewellery 🙊… what more could they want?
Y’all are having the weather we should have here in Louisiana!! We are 20” short of rain for the month of July and August is not looking any better!! Heat indexes in the triple digits!! 106°-117° F!! (41°C - 46°C!!! And no rain! Not even pop up afternoon showers which is what we normally have with summer heat!! Keep listening to those cows and they’ll lead you right!!
hope the weather changes for you, those poor cows❤at least theyre in the dry eating and happy😂
Thank you Tom for sharing your farm and cows with us again. You always bring a smile to my face. Truly enjoy your channel.
❤Love how you don't waste a single thing Tom! Hay for cleaning and scrubbing the water tank and windscreen😊!
Don't see any grazers giving you stick !! Lets change that 😂 easiest way to stop a cow wanting to graze is give it a belly full of silage. To be fair we're not farming in a bog and did I see the other day the NW of England had 3 times it's usual rain in July 🏴
Rebar in a car tyre and an old cluster liner worked 20 years ago for electric posts around the yard
Wish the rain was falling over here in Washington St. USA; it is so dry. 😇💜
