    When I started my podcast and began editing the episodes, I realised how many filler words I used! Recording yourself is a great way to pick up on those filler words that detract from clear communication. Great video Riaz!

      @RiazMeghji  4 роки тому +1

      This is one area that personally always needs improving. It's easy for a clean presentation on video. When in conversation or live presentation, it is easy to fill the space with these crutch words and sounds. It takes a great deal of practice and attention to get it under control. Going to check your stuff out Kara. Thanks for all of the thoughtful feedback :)

    I learnt what my filler words are whilst editing my UA-cam videos. So tired of all the time I spent editing, I thought I have to do something about this. It does feel more relaxing to just breathe, pause or close your mouth. Thanks for the video.

    Taking meaningful pauses is such a good tip - use them in your favour and to create an effect (and while you're doing it you can take a breath and regroup on your next thought!). ✨

    This is even harder for UA-camrs making videos! Why? Because 45-60 minutes of recorded video gets cut down to a 10 minute video. In real life I don't say filler words that frequently, but once a tech video gets cut down I notice how often I lead with "Alright..." as a continuation. 🤣 I will be working on starting sentences without a filler word.

    I'm so bad with this! I continue to work hard on this. It's one of the reasons why I play back my work before I move forward. And i love chunking! My acting coach taught this too, chunking in 3's with monologues it's so helpful.

    • @RiazMeghji
      @RiazMeghji  4 роки тому

      It's a tough one to shake off Nisreen. Easily overlooked yet requires a great deal of work from all of us to overcome it. That's great to know acting coaches use chunking. Does this work when you need to memorize scripts when you're on set?
