Thank you for sharing. (1) Do we "Gloss Varnish" before the Oil Wash to protect the underlying Acrylic Paint and improve flow? (2) If we "Gloss Varnish" and after the "Oil Wash" wish to continue painting with Acrylics, do we need to apply a "Matt Varnish" for better paint adherence? (i.e., the Acrylic Paijt may not adhere well to the Gloss Varnish). Your insights are welcomed.
I always use Matt varnish between the different coats. With gloss varnish I would also think the surface may be too smooth and the paint has trouble adhering. I only ever use gloss for the last layer - if needed at all
Great tip! Just started messing around with oils. Thank you for sharing Frank!
Thank you Jerry! I love oil color now
I'm doing this ! I cook so have lots of empty spice bottle that will be perfect to keep the mixture in ..cheers !
Sweet!
I'm ready to try this!

@@evolutionxstudios Thank you kindly. The only reason for suggesting "Gloss Varnish" was before the Oil Wash in order that it flows better.
can you make enough to store and use later?
Of course! I store it I empty paint bottles. Just give it a shake if you use it again and you’re good to go
This is an excellent video; thank you. I'm looking forward to seeing that Spider-Man video!
Thank you very much :)
what kind of thinner? the mineral spirit?
I know it as white spirit or Terpentine
How can I remove the oil wash without damaging the bottom layer of paint?
Is white spirit not too strong for that?
White spirit does not damage acrylic paint, especially not if you varnished it before
