If you watch the series, you'll understand them both a lot more. No one anywhere can easily cut off their stalkers, and believe me they try hard. There are stalkers who find out people's phone numbers after they're changed repeatedly, they find their email addresses, they follow them home, to work, to anywhere they try to run when they move house and change jobs. You'd be shocked how persistent they can be. Some stalk for years, others decades. They have no grasp of how to respect people's space as they live in their own distorted, fantasy world when they're totally convinced their victim is in some kind of relationship with them.
