For all you aspiring bassist this is the shit you need to listen to! He was the bassist for Slave featuring Steve Arrington which you can hear his infectious chops on all so. This guy is a BEAST!
Buddy never played in Slave, but he has multiple connections to them. When Steve Arrington left Slave to form Hall Of Game, Buddy was the bass player. He also played on a couple Aurra albums, which Steve Washington formed when he left Slave. On top of that, he played with Young & Company, which was the group Starleana Young's brothers were in.
lotsa bass players they pull, thump, pluck whatever... But they can't get that Lowdown Funk cause... it's not in them! Good job Buddy! That is what i call funk Baby bubba.
what brilliant about this is - the bass has to find its way first. The drummer ahs to keep the beat, once the bass has found its way around .49 and starts going- that's when its set- THEN he brings in, what does he say? Fall in? then the drummer can riff, while the bass keeps the pace.
Some oldschool funk you got going on there guys :) The guitar was hardly audible at first and the snare sounded a bit too "loose" for my taste, but overall nice grooving :)
Dat boi slappin that bass 🔥
Classic funk riff but Buddy somehow makes it absolutely epic! Wish it would go on for 20 minutes..

You guys are indeed powerful.
great bass work, and the drummer is in the pocket, no show boatin
