I mean, there was a halo movie, and it was good, there was two good ones, There’s “Reach” where it takes place and a background of when Master Chief was made John 117, from his child year,s to his teenage years, Then there’s also, Forward unto Dawn, which the main character is Laski which we know from Halo 4 and 5, as he’s on the ship, and is seen as Captain, Then closer to the middle setting of the movie, master chief comes in, as to save the UNSC academy,
Every single person involved with this ad is long gone. Thank post modernism for the upcoming battle royal/battle pass/transaction/meme fest that is Halo infinite incoming, I am sure the 'AI' in a spartan that calls out power weapon locations is an afterthought of something like the art made for ODST
🤣🤣 Yeah it's a great ad... But if this happens irl *I dont want to see a ODST or Spartan Deployment* (When your thinking your in the shit, now the shit is gunna be for real...)
I love the message of this game, the whole time it tries to remind you “You are not the Master Chief. You are not a Spartan. You are just another soldier, fighting against the unstoppable enemy.” And it also tells you at the same time “You are normal, but you can be great”
This aired in a sports bar I was in one night and after the trailer was over, the whole bar was completely silent, gave me goosebumps. Probably the best gaming commercial ever made
Between this and landfall we could have gotten the best halo show or movie ever, but instead we got master chief taking his helmet off in the first episode...
This really shows how good the writers at Bungie are/were. The whole story of Tarkov service is told without him speaking a single word. And yet you still understand everything. Why he joined, how he felt his first time in combat and even how war has hardened him.
Especailly the little things like how you can infer Tarkov was expected to join after his father was KIA. And how important the regimental colors are to the odst's because that's what's draped over the coffin and then how Tarkov picks up the flag from the cairn and places it on his heart
@@testchannelpleaseignore2452I don't think that K. Stark is Tarkov's father. Seems more likely to be a cousin or uncle given their different last names.
It's truly a cut above the rest. I have yet to see a trailer that truly makes me want to go out and buy a game. This trailer should be used as a marketing lesson.
@@Adam-gy3tw Well you're pretty much alone. The story is garbage the acting is terrible and the CGI is a joke. On top of all that the only thing it has in common with Halo is the name and looks. Everything else has been changed. And I mean everything.
Honestly, I am willing to bet that this probably recruited more guys into the military when it came out then current actual military commercials do now, and not just the US.
Even though this isn’t real I’d rather use this ad to get people to join then the new army ads. They kept saying how diverse they were and didn’t tell us what they did in the army. They need to tell us the truth no matter how scary it is.
@@stickthelanding4785 Crawling through the mud or hiking uphill with a 50lbs pack and being and just overall getting slayed isn't really appealing to most people.
@@ricardoramos4514 We live in a generation where the truth is accessible online to us all, easily. It's not the experience, but we can all go and see it, what combat actually looks like, and not the fun bits either. Just last year we had go-pro footage of Armenian soldiers being killed that went viral. I don't think so many people who join the military these days are deluded by ideas of glory as in the past. It's a job and a duty and the horrors aren't kept as hidden as they used to be. If you enlist in this day and age, you're already made of stern stuff. The recruitment ads may as well show the truth, or enough of it.
I really feel like a show focused on ODSTs where the Chief popped in occasionally as a background character would have been a way better angle for a TV show, and this trailer proves it. You could have the main characters have very human emotions and high stakes, and the Spartans could feel very powerful without needing to carry a lot of emotional beats of the story. Why the TV didn't take this approach is beyond me. Nobody is worried if the Chief is going to die, so the show has pretty low stakes for the combat.
Because they want easy to understand protagonist vs antagonist boredom to kill us all. There is no risk taking at Microsoft regarding Halo after the Halo 4 and 5 and it shows + they just bet that mediocre will sell which it will and do the easy money grab. When the franchise was more of a journey and proving ground for Bungie it shows in the games too. Now we get nothing, but this shit. Many people seem to forget that Halo drew inspiration from other IPs and not from Halo itself and that's where creative minds should look when working with the series and not the past games and media of Halo.
I was just saying something like that to a friend , a spin off halo series where chief only pops up or is mentioned in the background but his actions affect the plot of the show
@@Void_Wars It's not like that really matters, since the showrunners have said the show wasn't made for fans. Casual audiences who aren't too familiar with Halo won't notice if Master Chief is missing or not.
All previous Halo Live Action defeats the Halo Tv series in quality. Landfall, ODST, Reach, Forward Unto Dawn, Nightfall. Hell Halo 3s CGI trailer was better than the CGI we got in the series.
For those who missed it, even after 12 years. Just so you know how appropriate this song is for ODSTs (AKA "Helljumpers"). Lyrics of the song in Welsh: " Gafflwn Dihenydd, o'r fuddugol yn wiriol sydd. Ni fydd neb yn ein Drechu, Falch ydy ni i drochu, Traed o flaen i'r Annwn, mewn y gwybodaeth fe godwn ni." English Translation: "We cheat Death from his rightful victory. No one can defeat us. We are glad to plunge Feet first into hell in the knowledge that we will rise."
The lyrics are rather fitting for the type of marines they are. They aren't some genetically enhanced super soldiers that walk into battle like gods of war, but marines who took up greater responsibility to be thrown into the fires of war. They cheat death for every day they are still alive, to mete death to those who threatened humanity. Ultimately, they represent the gritty part of humanity that comes from stubbornness and hard work
Still I'd take being turned into swiss cheese by a grunt with a plasma cannon then being torn apart by some 9ft tall,1500lb ,genocidal berserk gorilla on steroids.
I see you evaluate someone's sacrifice by how they die, instead of their reason for fighting or their overall contribution to the battle. There were guys at Normandy who trained for months and were cut down the moment the doors dropped. Is their sacrifice any less significant than those that managed to cross the beach and die in the last moments while taking the bunkers? Would those guys who won in the end have made it without those guys giving their lives in the beginning?
@@DartLuke Honestly, I doubt they care. Death in battle is the same to them no matter how they go out. And they have such a contempt for humans that they all appear equally as vermin in their eyes. At least, during the war.
The part that gets me is the scrap of flag the odst has tucked into his armor. Burned and tattered, been through hell just like him. But he keeps it so that any odst that falls can have a flag at their funeral like he feels they deserve.
I have an ODST cosplay that I wear to conventions, and because of this trailer, I too have a burned up, muddied, and ripped ODST flag tucked into my chest plate for photos.
"I've heard that Spartans always get the worst jobs. Too bad we're all out of Spartans. You have 3 minutes. Get ready to drop." - ODST Leader, moments before deploying over Arcadia City
Poor choice of location because Arcadia was full of spartans when it fell. I can see where you were going with the quote though. That really does sum up the ODSTs nicely; soldiers that were highly trained but still only human, put in place of genetic freaks and expected to get the job done.
@@SkyNinja759 Yeah, but the insinuation is that their specific drop mission, one of the worst ones, was decided after all Spartans had been deployed. Thus, the quote equates to "All Spartans are pre-occupied at the moment, so they volunteered us." It doesn't necessarily mean there were no Spartans in Arcadia, just none where they were going (and we don't see any Spartans in the ODST campaign, which further cements this idea if you really need a game lore tie in)
More than a decade later the scene at 00:40 still stands out, the senior NCO leading the funeral detail looks at the most likely prospect of enlistment right before he orders the fire. He knows that this part of the ceremony will have a lasting effect on him and almost without thought looks at the next potential generation of Fighter. I think that senior NCO holds some kind of reverence in that moment that he potentially created another ODST for the ranks fighting for humanity’s survival.

My favorite touch is that the junior guy is startled where as the senior guy has already been through it. The different reactions really highlight the experience and how far the seasoned soldier has come
@@lxtunaxl9353 I think the reason why is because the new odst still has hope that he'll survive to the end of the war where as the senior odst has long since accepted that the odds of that are pretty low
This really was a world wide mini film. The song is sung in Welsh. It has Bagpipes. It has Samoan log drums. The drill instructor is Hungarian. Inspiration was taken from journalists in USA Military units in Afghanistan. As well as being inspired by Russian films like Stalker. They wanted to film in Ukraine but due to time/budget settled for Hungary. And I feel there was probably even more.
@@lonecolamarine Didn't even think of the props or the Brute animatronic and the GFX artists. There's so much to this trailer I wish more like this were made.
Humanity all coming together, desperate to survive their extermination by an overwhelmingly powerful and ancient (4000 year old) alien empire who declared our entire species heretical vermin.
This perfectly showcases what it means to be an ODST. You are *nothing* but a man. Compared to the Covenant, you may as well just be Cannon Fodder. Being an ODST means "dropping feet first into hell", into a battle that you have no place in. A battle that places you out of your depth against an enemy that has more strength, durability and speed than you do. An enemy that is more ferocious and brutal than any you may have ever faced before. The Halo Legends show shows it perfectly: You're the best of the best. The best soldiers Humanity has to offer, but are completely and utterly outclassed by both the Covenant, and the Spartans.
What's interesting is that the Elites eventually came to respect Humanity's tenacity and wanted to integrate us into the Covenant. The Prophets' continued insistence on wiping us out instead of adding us (like they had the Grunts, Jackals and Hunters) is one of the reasons for the increasing tension between the two.
Just that transition from him in his obviously first battle as a young man and then jumps several years ahead with him as a middle aged man with the new younger generation. Really sets in the scale of how long they faught for And then hearing the explosion and needler gunner going off and they instantly suit back up and fight on
the wound on the young man's face is now the scar on the old man's face, he survives the brute and continues fighting on for decades until he is now the battle-hardened sergeant who is in command of fresh recruits
I love that. Then when he hears the explosion in the distance, he has zero hesitation. The rookie is scared out of his mind, but pur character is completely ready for what may come next.
ODSTs are great characters because they get dropped right into the crap with less equipment and man power than spartans. They aren't as powerful, but they are sure brave.
The point of ODSTs is to have an orbital QRF available for fast backup. And those are not true Spartans. Aka no extreme augments and enhancements. So essentially they are just very well trained and outfitted marines. Yes some are augmented but not to the extent the Spartans were.
LiquidusSnakeX The ODSTs seemed more prevalent around the time of the human-covenant war, filling the role of fast-response troops. My guess, seeing how heavy their losses were, is that the Spartan-IV program is working to replace the ODSTs. (Remember, the Spartan program is still in development, so it wouldn't be widespread technology yet)
GriffinRSX Well, the new Spartans being trained are being picked from ODST battalions, so the Spartan 4's we are seeing are basically ODST's with upgraded armor. Like Sam said, ODSTs would have been more prevalent during the Human-Covenant War, seeing as in the beginning of the war, Spartans were still classified.
You know what's amazing about this trailer? The Rifle salute for the funeral integrates into the rhythm of the song, sounding on after that point precisely two more times to complete the salute. In a direct way, tying death and sacrifice into the theme of the trailer. From there on, the drum beat that carries on through the rest of the trailer echos that original, terrible beat, becoming an inevitable and advancing march of death.

Me and my childhood friend James saw this trailer as teenagers and were so in awe that we both bought the game together the very next day. I went to college a year later and James decided to join the Marine Core. I remember asking him what made him decide to join the military, and he told me this commercial had a big part in his decision. When he returned home he told me he would watch this trailer over and over again when he was in Afghanistan to help boost his morale. Greatest gaming commercial ever made in my opinion.
@@dutty1549 yeah, it was alright. But I GUARANTEE that if 343 had done it, people would be pissed as all hell and throw a million baby fits for the next 7 years.
This adds some perspective when you consider how long the war lasted. Two generations grew up and came of age during the struggle. The kid we see in the beginning probably reached adulthood in the 2530s, judging from his appearance at the end when his flashback is done. Fought for 20 years, going from a pissed off kid seeking retribution to a grizzled veteran just operating on inertia, doing probably the only thing he knew how to
It kinda gets me thinking, what if Tarkov joined up in 2525? And while this funeral and his training is going on, in another corner of Human space, the first outer colonies are fighting. Poor guy thinks he's gonna help catch Colonel Watts, and instead his first deployment is a combat drop against the newly encountered Covenant.
I joined the military in 2001. I remember playing the original Halo in the PX on the demo box. When I bought it the old SGTs who were in Panama, Grenada, and Desert Storm made fun of me for playing video games in the barracks instead of going out to the clubs. Looking back now in 2021, this trailer gives me chills for the parallels of the cyclic nature of military service and the terror, loss, and devotion to duty it inspires. I'm pushing 40 and have seen a lot while the new generation comes in ignorant to the horrors of war but willingness to serve and desire to learn. ODST was an interesting introspection in to the Halo world in which you aren't the main character but just a normal person who needs to survive and do the best you can...ie, real life. Summarized, this trailer is amazing and gives me all the feels.
I joined in September 2000, I know exactly what you mean. I was six months out of basic and AIT when 9/11 happened, and at times when I was reading "The Fall of Reach" and then later playing the game, I felt like I knew how the Master Chief and his team felt as they went through their training and then saw their people attacked. Yeah, it's a fictional story, but it was very real to me back in those days. At the time, I felt like my world was coming to an end but if I could go back and do it again, you can bet I absolutely would.

The choice to make the characters in this commercial Hungarian was a really daring but good choice IMO. Firstly, it's interesting. And secondly, it means that the voices of the soldiers won't distract the viewer, unless they know Hungarian.
I like how it made a series with galactic scale feel grounded and full of individual stories. Like, this could be taking place in any "nation" on any planet because of the severity of the Covenant threat.

The trailer perfectly showcases just how long the Human-Covenant War really is. Tarkov joined the ODSTs at a young age, and was still a member many years later, possibly his 40's or even 50's.
Fun-Fact! Our beloved Sgt. Johnson died at nearly 70 years old. Not only because of his involvement in the Spartan I program, but also because this is so many years into the future that humans live longer and they stay healthy longer before declining due to old age.
@@whiskey419 Is that age counting time spent in cryo freeze or not? Because once people stop aging when frozen, it's kind of hard to gauge someone's health from their age. There are a lot of humans in the Halo universe that are much older than their bodily age because they spent years in cryo.
One of the great little details I like is that the Brute that attacks him gets killed b a random piece of debris, not the shots he took at it. It really sell the feeling that he is just a soldier that got lucky, rather than being a killing machine like a Spartan.

Coming back to this video after watching the pilot of the Halo TV show has put the final nail in the coffin for modern Halo for me. The budget for this trailer and Landfall must have been a fraction of the TV show, yet you can tell it was made by people who actually cared for the franchise and wanted it to be as authentic as possible. After the immense disappointment of Infinite and now one of the worst TV shows I have ever seen in my life I am left with no doubt that 343 must be replaced, and the franchise must be placed in competent, caring hands.
This commercial was made at a time when movies and (some) TV tried to strike a cord inside our brains and show us something we'd never seen before. Today, movies and shows, despite new tech and insane budgets, are soft as jelly. They're made not to present a shocking vision to us, but to appeal to as many people as popular. It's the cinematic equivalent of Mac n' Cheese. Bland and easily forgettable, but everyone is willing to shovel it down their pie hole. I come back to this commercial about once a year to remind myself that a piece of media, even something simple as a commercial, can grip you emotionally and leave you with goosebumps.
despite the hate for odst. it still is. and will always be one of my favorite halo games. not just because we get to see a different fight. but because we are not the spartan super soldiers. we are the best of the best of the UNSC marines. Feet First into Hell.
I did like that aspect of Halo 3 ODST but I feel it should have been one cock up and you die. After all your wearing high quality armor but no shielding tech, needle rounds would peirce you easily and it disappointed me the way I still maintained my tactics as Chief with these ODST characters. It should have made you dependant on cover and being stealthy, but that's just my opinion. Still a decent Halo game but I feel it had missed some great potential.
Yeah, but it's not harder than other Halo games on legendary. What he meant was that you could approach the game with the same tactics and not notice any difference. This is mainly a gameplay and story segregation thing though, Bungie would never dare to make a game were you couldn't take on a massively larger force on your own and come up on top. Still, it'd be a much more interesting game if your actually had to play smart.
I played the game on Heroic upon purchase in 2009 as I do with every Halo game and i played how I played Chief on Heroic on previous Halos. It's just I expected more from Bungie there and being able to use the same tactics was infuriating to me as I wanted it to be a tough experience requiring thought and precision. The game we got is clearly DLC being shovled out as a full game with a mediocre story, Halo 3s online repackaged as the developers were too lazy and the only redeeming qualities being Firefight and the mystery of your team, which loses some of its greatest due to how boring and shit they were. Even the mystery being it's best feature was kinda shit.
Agreed, it was essentially just Halo, but your shield is weaker. would've been cool to get a COD style single player campaign but in the Halo universe.

Halo's ad campaigns are the only ads that ever worked on me. Never thought about the franchise much, saw the "Believe" ads for 3 and this ad for ODST, was blown away by them, and got really into Halo as a result.
The small detail of fast reaction to the distant explosion the young ODST has at the end really shows how skilled ODSTs are trained in being the best of the best to their names. The mission never stops, they're ready to head into battle whenever! Gave me chills when the music played louder as they put on their helmets to go to hell together.
There's something fascinating about burying ODST in gravel (0:10) It's very easy to dig yourself out of it. "Feet first into hell knowing that I shall rise." This is the flavor that Halo lost.

Because he’s recognizable and therefore would generate more views and with views comes money.
Because they want easy to understand protagonist vs antagonist boredom to kill us all.

There were guys at Normandy who trained for months and were cut down the moment the doors dropped.

Really sets in the scale of how long they faught for
And then hearing the explosion and needler gunner going off and they instantly suit back up and fight on
I interpreted it initially as he was KIA, early on, and that was his CO. But that makes more sense.
the wound on the young man's face is now the scar on the old man's face, he survives the brute and continues fighting on for decades until he is now the battle-hardened sergeant who is in command of fresh recruits
I love that. Then when he hears the explosion in the distance, he has zero hesitation. The rookie is scared out of his mind, but pur character is completely ready for what may come next.
Looking at how the time of war and what this trailer shows, this dude might have fought on reach too

ODSTs half the firepower double the balls. I have to say some of my favorite lore/fanfic stories have been about ODSTs.
stwcrusher
What is even the point of the ODSTs anymore with the frat boy Spartans we have in Halo 4? Seems Spartans are dime a dozen now.

Literally just watched it on HBO and had to comeback confirm it was originally from this trailer that I first heard it. It gave me chills just like when I was a kid.

SONG INFO
Its name is "Light of Aidan".
The song is an old Welsh folk song which is sung in Gaelic.
The lyrics in Welsh are;
Dweud a ddoi di eto n’ol
Cariad bach er cilio’n ffo
Nid yw’r haf I mi
Ddim ond hirlwm
Er pan gollais ti
which translates into;
Say you will not return
Sweetheart, since you flew away
I have no summer
Only the worst of winter
Since I lost you.
The speech in this trailer is Hungarian.
Thanks!
I got chills.
Grogritark The song is already being sung in Welsh, it's not in Gaelic, nor is the song "Light of Aidan". The song is called "Lament"
Gafflwn Dihenydd O’r fuddugol yn wiriol sydd, Ni fydd neb yn ein drechu, Falch ydy ni I drochu, Traed o flaen I’r Annwn, mewn y gwybodaeth fe godwn ni.
"We cheat death from his rightful victory. No one can defeat us. We are glad to plunge feet-first into Annwn (the welsh underworld) in the knowledge that we will rise."

14 years later this trailer still gives me chills!!! Wish we could get a Halo show like this
The director of Halo: Landfall pitched a Band of Brothers style TV show starring UNSC Marines years ago, and they kept saying no to him and then we got the Paramount+ show instead. Wish we were in the good timeline lol
More than a decade later and this trailer is better that new Halo series on Paramount, incredible how instead of them making their own stuff they always gotta defile something else.
they did indeed defile and took everything that was cool and made it super cringe and in the first 20 minutes.. It's like they never played the games or read the sore materials.. OH wait they said they didn't and didn't care too. XD 100 mil per episode Paramount+ got ROBBED I say. Dear god that did not go into production at all in the slightest. I would have hired all the writers from this to make a full-length ODST series that leads into the Spartans. Hell if they really wanted to DO their own thing why not take from the lore from the past and ancient humans at least make it INTERESTING or the fore-runner war with the flood or heck even their creators forget their name but the precursor race to the flood who are on a whole other level techwise when it comes to even the fore-runner tech. If they really wanted todo their own thing and not piss off a LEGION of fans over 2 decades built up. They killed Starwars/Star Trek/Dr Who/40k I guess Halo is their next target.
gosh watching just the first 20 minutes I felt like I was watching a Fan-Fic high budget series or something... just plain awful.
That’s what the wokies do they ruin everything they touch. At this point it feels like they’re doing it on purpose.
The show the fans really wanted in 2022.
We need a second ODST game, dropping in to battles like this would be friggin awesome.
A damn dream

They need to make a halo game like planet side 2
@@delta2372 Yes, this is what I've been wanting for ages. Even made a post on reddit explaining what I would want from a Halo game like that. God dammit that would be awesome to see. I love Halo as it is but I would die for a more open gritty battlefield setting. I want a game that, while it still has a decent story, is more about the battle side of things
@@delta2372 underated idea.
Probably the single greatest game commercial ever..........The transitions, the brutality of it, the reality of war, and the loss that comes with. The moment at the end where the leader slips on his helmet, and his squad follows suit I absolutely brilliant. It gives me chills every time.
This should be a movie
It's sad that this could be done, but hasn't be accomplished, only attempted.
+jacobdot456 The director of Lord of the Ring gave up on it.

I would want the director of this trailer to do it lol.
+Senior Meatbox False, they scrapped the idea and made District 9. Get your facts straight.
The last transition from fresh faced rookie to battle hardened veteran is just incredible. It seamlessly changes from his tense and nervous face to a calm and determined one. If you listen closely even his breathing reflects this change. In a small instant so much is conveyed to us about the character without a single word being uttered. The people that worked on this trailer are absolutely incredible.
With that noticing how when the explosion goes off the new younger ODST is startled where as now he just casually throws his helmet on and begins to move like it’s just another day.
this is better then the new halo tv show

Hey I'm still in August and I agree with you
"War Thunder - The Battle Is On" rivals this for sure
except its by a completely corrupt company that funds cheating clans to hold first place on the pure basis that as a russian based company russians have to be the "best". thats not even including the fact that they will and have "censored" youtubers for making video that does not give good light to war thunder. and yes. im speaking on the cheating aspect because i was a player when the scandal broke.

Chills... still get chills after so many years. The show could have been so much more. This trailer was expertly crafted.
Idk why at times it feels like 343 is so allergic to the source material.
I Watched this like 6 times and also realized the main character in this trailer is named Tarkov ;) 0:52
Tbh it wasn't 343's fault the show sucked.
This has more storytelling in its couple of minutes than a lot of films manage in a couple of hours...
When games were art and were passion projects and had heart. Now they are plain products
I say this all the time now. Games used to be made as art and companies tried to make the best game. Now games are just made to cater to micro transactions and are sold to us half finished
Lol.
@@EvoroPictures i was thinking about this the other day and its because of the Early Access bs that began all of this
Yes. Totally agree.
I hope you’re not generalizing as every game company, there’s still quite a few out there like Cd project red with cyberpunk and even respawn entertainment is starting to pick it up some
The choice to make the characters in this commercial Hungarian was a really daring but good choice IMO. Firstly, it's interesting. And secondly, it means that the voices of the soldiers won't distract the viewer, unless they know Hungarian.
And third, sort of, it fits with Halo lore; the planet Reach was very culturally Hungarian.
It also shows a united humanity, not just one country. Hungarian recruits, drill instructors, then Welsh music.
I like how it made a series with galactic scale feel grounded and full of individual stories. Like, this could be taking place in any "nation" on any planet because of the severity of the Covenant threat.
God I miss everything about this. The hype. The midnight release. Being that young again. But thankfully the memories will always be with me.
The way their visors go black is so badass.
I was going to like this comment but it’s at 117 so I don’t want to ruin it
Like when he’s dropping down through hell and taking it all in... then the visor goes down and the door pops and its time to head into the fray
Hell of a clip man
The trailer perfectly showcases just how long the Human-Covenant War really is.
He was probably a lieutenant or something by the end
Cowhead7 Note the "involvement in the Spartan I program"
@@whiskey419 Is that age counting time spent in cryo freeze or not? Because once people stop aging when frozen, it's kind of hard to gauge someone's health from their age. There are a lot of humans in the Halo universe that are much older than their bodily age because they spent years in cryo.
@@ninjabot567 Oh yeah. Yes, don't forget about cryofreeze,
One of the great little details I like is that the Brute that attacks him gets killed b a random piece of debris, not the shots he took at it. It really sell the feeling that he is just a soldier that got lucky, rather than being a killing machine like a Spartan.
I can’t believe this is what Halo used to be. It’s sickening to see what 343 has done to this beautiful franchise.
Halo was never this dark and gritty stop capping

Coming back to this video after watching the pilot of the Halo TV show has put the final nail in the coffin for modern Halo for me. The budget for this trailer and Landfall must have been a fraction of the TV show, yet you can tell it was made by people who actually cared for the franchise and wanted it to be as authentic as possible. After the immense disappointment of Infinite and now one of the worst TV shows I have ever seen in my life I am left with no doubt that 343 must be replaced, and the franchise must be placed in competent, caring hands.
deadass the exact reason why i’m watching this
@Owen Buckner hopefully 343 will loose the ip and it’ll be given to a team more capable.
@@keithv2974 That's a fantastic analogy, I'll remember it!
@@GucciPasta 343i doesn't own the IP. Bungie from the first E3 showing also didn't own the IP. Microsoft does.
despite the hate for odst. it still is. and will always be one of my favorite halo games. not just because we get to see a different fight. but because we are not the spartan super soldiers. we are the best of the best of the UNSC marines.
You didn't even play on normal then, hell normal you died super quick, play legendary if you want to cry it's not an easy fight.
This trailer is so sick, they need to make a movie with this kind of production!
Yes!
This trailer does a good job of reminding us the Human-Covenant war lasted for decades.
These kind of trailers are so amazingly well done, that sometimes you get think they are actual real soldiers, the costume design, the acting, the protocol, everything regarding it, makes you think the UNSC might actually become a real thing in the future, too fucking legendary
If we conserve some braincells when we start space travel, then the UNSC will be a reality
well there is an entirely separate military branch called the US Space Force that opened in 2018, so that's one step forward
@@Chofrizzy That "branch" is just a section of the USAF that Trump decided to break off. I almost think he did it just to fuck with people. It does nothing different, except it's the butt of jokes now.

I love all the details in just the transition from him being young to his older self. His breathing, at first quickened and panicked becomes deep, slow and controlled. His hair is cut shorter and more sensibly compared to what looks like the younger soldiers. And whilst they jump at the sound of distant gunfire he turns slowly towards it and prepares for war.

Love the ODST helmet. The visor shape is killer.
The small detail of fast reaction to the distant explosion the young ODST has at the end really shows how skilled ODSTs are trained in being the best of the best to their names. The mission never stops, they're ready to head into battle whenever!
