Wow, absolutely perfect instructions. Ford wanted $700 to replace it ($450 for camera and $250 labor. With your camera suggestion and on point instructions, I did it for $167 and 45 minutes. Big thanks
Thanks for the video. I followed your directions and it now works great. Got my camera on Amazon for about $55. Took me less than an hour and I have never done anything like that before
Great video thank you! My backup cam is failing and I was hoping the job was something I could do in my driveway. This gives me confidence to tackle it. 👍
Great video. This helped me do the repair. It only cost me $25.00 for the part on Ebay and 45 minutes of my Saturday. It couldn't have been much easier. I did have to unplug the auto close button for an option your car didn't have, but otherwise video was spot on. Thanks for the help.
Thank you very much for this video, it will be very useful to me since I have to change my camera and the good thing is that it is the same model in your video... I have a question now I have to change the gear lever, do you have any model What can I buy?.....any suggestions?
Hi, it really depends. I found one on ebay for 2013-14 escape 2.5 with select shift, but please make sure its right for yours www.ebay.com/itm/286009736301
What issue does this fix. My camera glitches out, inverts, stays on reverse cam after I shift to drive then I get message to have technician look at it. Feel like it started doing this after I did radio SW update. 2014 Escape Titanium.
Ours does the same thing. Ford told us it just needed a new camera. They wanted $950 to do it, hence why I am watching this video now lol. I’ll let you know if it actually fixes it.
So far, so good on the new camera I installed! I bought the Dorman brand off Amazon. It was around $100-$150 Fixed the intermittent issues we were having.
Can't remove those two screws on my 2017 mkc (on the handle) , try the torx 20 screw driver can't fit in, it's hard to see the screws also, any suggestion?
If you want to save some time and don't mind a slight modification (which can't be seen), this is how I did the job: ua-cam.com/video/viI7Rvvf_74/v-deo.htmlsi=7aHu9RZYev9Ghcox

Very helpful.
The way you explained help me a lot.
Thank you! This was super easy to follow. Just like the other comments. Took no time and just some money for the camera
Super easy to do! Didn't even take 30 minutes! Great video!
Thank you for the tutorial. Father In-Law and I were able to replace this in 25 minutes.
You're welcome. Glad to help!
Fantastic instructional video. This actually gave me the confidence to tackle this project. Thanks.
@@GenePicciafoco you're welcome!
Thank you for the video, sir. Saved me a bunch of money.
Great video! As an added step, I'd definitely, do some cleaning 🙂...
Awesome video. Thanks for taking your time and explaining everything!
Awesome video! My error message for my 2017 Ford Escape says "camera unavailable" so I'm guessing this fix would work.
Glad it helped. Yes, most likely.
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles really well done video, I'm going to attempt this fix on the weekend 💪
Thank you. Just replaced mine

Typically those are symptoms of a bad camera
My camera works some of the time. I wonder if it's a loose connection on one of the plugs.

Is this process the same on a 2014/2018 FORD EDGE???? CAN YOU USE THE MOTORCRAFT (I THINK) XG12 DI ELECTRIC GREASE???
I believe it is a very similar process. Once the lift gate trim panel is taken off any variations should be obvious
Good tip to take a picture

@@bigfish3238 I'd shine a flashlight on the screws and see if they're a different size
Thank you, on my 2016 Escape, the image displays upside down, is that more likely the camera or something more involved? Thanks!
Thats most likely the camera
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles Thanks, that would be the easiest fix!
What size of the tool do you use to remove 4 bolts inside of metal back panel, sir?
@@jackhu2049 10mm nuts hold that back panel on
Thank you so much!!! Literally at Home Depot and your reply coming in! Much appreciated!
@@BigBensCarsAndCyclesgot it replaced and functioning! Thank you!!!!
What's the camera part number, I can't read it.
What tools did you use to take the 10mm nut off since it’s so deep in there

@@BigBensCarsAndCycles thank you! Would a racket screw driver work as well?
