- After all this time, it's come to this. Rich has gushed about Split/Second for YEARS, and John has had to endure it ever since they started working together here at TraxionGG.
But the day has finally arrived. It's time for John to take to the Split/Second set to see just how well he fares against the seven other drivers ALSO with the ability to blow the set to pieces.
Are Rich's nostalgia goggles far too strong, or has John discovered another arcade racing gem?

Split/Second is everything a racing game fan/movie buff wants. Still won't forgive Disney for shutting down the people who made that game.

I really miss these "in your face" era of arcade racers. It's a shame that there's so many legendary games from this era that just isn't readily accessible anymore.

Easily one of my favorite arcade racers. I still play it to this day. Surprised the online is still going. Not a lot of players, but still.
Massive shout for Blur. Loved that game so much. Remember it being quite had at points but thought the tracks and the powers were just so good

When it comes to the color pallete, i would liken it to Michael Bay's Transformers, and same with the action, explosives and general tone of the whole game
That's exactly what I'm thinking! This whole game is like if Michael Bay produced his own game show, with the saturated colors, the super fast sports cars and, of course, metric FUCKTONS of explosives.

I remember playing the PSP version as a kid its one of the most underrated racing games ever I played it everywhere I went because I just couldn't get myself to put it down
Since this is a Disney game, Imagine if Disney's all star characters like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Snow White, Sora, Ralph, Vanellope, Hiro, Elsa, Luz, Amity, etc. Participated in this series and guess how they will react to a Plane crashing, an Observation tower tipping over, a freight train blown off the track, and so on!
This was a great game
This game trades paint, so to speak, with Burnout 3 as my favorite racing game ever. The whole power play mechanic and using the very track you race on as a weapon is nothing short of brilliant. It's also super fun to control, the way you drift around curves then power through the straightaways. It is, in every sense of the word, bombastic!

A remaster would be perfect for today's Gen of gaming I think spit/second was ahead of it's time ppl wasn't ready 😅😢

This game introduced the world to "You Wrecked Yourself" before it was cool 😂
Of all the atrocities that Disney has done the past few years (i.e. ruining Star Wars,) nothing can be as reprehensible to me as shutting down Black Rock Studios and not selling the Split/Second rights so Season 2 can become a reality.
Still have that epic Elite Race music stuck in my head.

The only (slightly) "inaccurate" one that I can say, is that one of the starting cars does resemble a 5th Gen Camaro. ...But that's it. None of the others remind me of another real life car... or, at least not right out of the gate.
