  • The Surface 604 Sunny Day is a zippy approachable cruiser ebike with mounting options for fenders and a rear rack. Ships as Class 2 with responsive torque sensing pedal assist and a trigger throttle that overrides all five levels with 100% power. Can unlock higher top speeds as Class 3 if you wish. This is the mid-step smaller frame, but Surface 604 also sells the larger Big Sky high-step. Default battery is 48v 12ah, but they also sell a 14ah and 20ah pack for extended range. Beautiful color display panel with USB charging port below, second USB port built into the side of the battery pack. Great 9-speed Shimano Alivio with wide 11-36 tooth cassette. Powerful 180mm Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with adjustable reach levers. Has mounting points for adding fenders and a rear rack if you wish, but no bottle cage mount. Pre-wired for use with an integrated headlight and tail light that blinks when you brake, rear light mounts to the optional rear rack. Light colored frame and reflective tires improve safety when riding in low light conditions. Oversized saddle and handlebar create upright body position, add comfort. No suspension fork, but you could lower tire pressure and add suspension seat post. Includes a basic 2 amp charger, but S604 does sell a 4 amp fast charger. Battery charge port is low near the left crank arm, pedal assist can activate unexpectedly if the chain bounces excessively.

Okay for Arizona, but elsewhere it rains. We need fenders for wet days.

Yeah, it's one of the extras that some companies will hold back to reduce weight, make it less expensive, make it quieter and less likely to get damaged in shipping etc. but there are optional aftermarket fenders that can be added too, for people who need them :)

Let’s test some Giant or Specialized bikes! They are the Toyota and Honda of e-bikes. You see them everywhere and you seldom review them.

      Thanks!! 🤗
Our bike club loves your channel and detailed reviews, but you don’t review the bikes we buy or ride. 😞. We stick with the big names for service and support. And non burning UL and CSA approved batteries so our insurance is valid if our houses burn down.
Vado IGH models would be an awesome review! 😊

Bikes without fenders have no soul

It looks like a budget bike with missing parts... someone stole the fenders. Colored wheels look cheap as well has open connector and lack of lights.

I'm in the process of launching a big overhaul. Always hope for it to go smoothly, but sometimes the DNS records take longer to update ;)

Yet another off-brand bike that few people in the known universe have heard of, and it would be just fine if it had remained that way.
A few points of interest. No UL sticker which is the norm for something like this. A no-name motor, and who knows where the battery was made and under what standards. It may or may not be okay, but there is no way of knowing. Just give it a pass, pay a bit more and get something trustworthy from a brand that you know is going to be around.
I hope you understand that it is completely illegal to have a class 2 ebike that goes faster than 20mph on any street or bike path in the US, and yet here you are pushing it with out a second thought. No mention that it is illegal to use.
