Nice roof to keep Eddie dry....now you'll need a roof over the edger, lights, windows, an extra sawdust bin just for non-horse bedding, darkness to see the lazer line, better rollers to sort the wood so Eddie doesn't have to lift them................
Fantastic video 31K people sighing relief Ed now covered, quality people, quality workmanship.Remember a small plaque and a dedication from the Pastor thanks once again. P.S. amazing ED has a stunt double
God smiled on T.H.E.Eddie today. That was some kinda cuttin' on that big ole log...good looking lumber. Friends are priceless!👍A well-oiled machine, again!
That addition is going to be so nice for you both, but it will be nice seeing Eddie stay dry & out of the sun as well. He’s worth every nail & board that you’ve put in to that build! Great video!
Yo, Mark and the bus motor likes cold air to run but warm air to start on. It was sure doing some FINE talking on that spruce and that was a NICE pile of one-by's out of it too. The crew did good and as far as Edwardo goes. him being used to working concrete, the time to get it done is NOW! The mill is plumb professional and is humming right along. And it is a sad day without Mr. McCoy but Chad and Maw Ruth are taking up the slack. Chad has tales growing up that are sure worth a listen and Maw always has something going on. Thanks, Buddy! Yall did good! GBWYall!
not too long ago, someone said you need to 'get on it' not too many months left I replied that once you put your mind to it, it would not take long at all ! and sir, you proved me right !
Does that mean Eddie will have to take his hat off inside now? Great video, great sawing shed. Once lights are in there you guys will be sawing longer and more often this winter.
i know Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account? I was stupid forgot the login password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me.
The mill is looking great now that its almost done, or dried in i think you call it over there, Everyone working together like that makes the job go very quickly, Another nice video......
You have come so far....looks great! It is nice having friends who are willing to help. I am sure free lunch and drinks help! Lol Seriously though....great job!
Operation keep Eddie dry!! I would give you all three thumbs up but I only have two so I guess that will have to do. It's nice to see some still take care of their neighbors.
Finally, Eddie will be dry this winter. Next he will want a Green Room with bottled water! Yes too bad about Mike McCoy. I am sorry that they sold the mill. God probably has Mike sawing logs in heaven and complaining to him not to Nick up the dogs! See you soon!
I'm first again!! Anyway, I really enjoy these videos!! Mark and Eddie are the #1 crew on UA-cam together with the Sampson Boat Company. Might be something with wood!! Keep the good work up!!
Hi Mark and Eddie: another important milestone reached! Next thing you know, you'll have indoor plumbing! Wow! Mark - how has the crazy price of lumber affected you guys? For example, about how much did that tree (for all the siding) cost you, and how much would it have been a year ago? You think things are going to stabilize, or keep going crazy? And what are the winning lottery numbers for next week? Have you picked out a lighting system yet? I hope you're considering LEDs. I know they're expensive up-front, but will really pay off quickly. Sure is easy for me to spend your money, huh?! Keep working hard, you're making great progress!
I heard you talk about the sawdust bin being empty and not mixing the two of wood together. Light just might be a issue for sure as the next few months the days get shorter also/LOL
It’s a good thing there are people who can climb around trusses like Eddie and the crew. You’ll NEVER find me up there! Good work and I enjoyed the video.
I used to be able to do that. I loved being a framer. Not afraid of heights. Now I’m broken down. I hope that my leg/knee heal enough so that I can at least climb a ladder.
Mark at the beginning you said the mike was broke so you lost the video. Well I don’t know about everyone else but I think you should put the video up. Reply if you think so. Joe in Dunedin Florida.
mark galicic Thanks! If I lived close to your mill I would like to be one of your volunteer helpers just to learn more about sawing the logs. I would also like helping on the building. Built and remodeled a few of my own projects.
Love this UA-cam Channel, Great Job Guys. Love to see this mill in person and meet you both. What state are you from and do you ever invite visitors. Do you both operate this mill during the week, or do you have other jobs. Great wood working shop by the way Mark, I love all your videos, awesome job on the Fathers Day smoked ribs and homemade tater salad.
Hey guy's, looks great. DRY, plus no frost on the equipment, do you have any kind of heater on the hydraulic pump and or lines. Will you cover the edger too, excellent crew, my crew of me myself and I are impressed. Keep up the good work guys.
Question for you, do logs that have been taken down by crane yield better timber than those that are fallen? Watching some videos of tree felling, some come down with quite a bang. Does that put stress cracks in the log and affect the quality?
I don’t know what it is about timber yards, perhaps because I lived about a hundred yards from one when I was a kid, in one direction and a joiners shop in another, I find the sounds comforting, like rain on a tin roof.
Watch a circle sawmill and a good operator is akin to poetry in motion. Could your mill be upgraded to computerized set works to maximize log yield. I see you have the laser line on it for establishing the first cut on the log.
Another great video! The Edmiston log turner is so much better than the log turner on the Pioneer mill. Have you heard if the buyer of the Pioneer mill has it up and running?
I was saddened to hear about Mike. I spent a lot of time watching him saw logs, trying to get to the point of being able to saw a few of my own (Zzzzzz ... Zzzzzz) and enjoyed his stories.
I'm a furniture maker by trade..i was turning 8 cannonball bed posts for a customer and two days after finishing i had to go to the hospital .. i had a lung infection ..the Dr asked what i had been doing and his eyes lit up when i told him..he asked me " didnt you know walnut dust is poisonous". from then on i wore a mask and later installed a shop made vac system..lesson learned!! pretty sure that's why they don't use it in horse barns or any other barns for that matter..
I wish I had this many friends, let alone ones willing to help me on construction projects! Does the bus motor alternator have enough capacity to run some LED lights? Throw in a battery, a switch, and some conduit and it could be the way to go.
All that new wall is going to provide a lot of extra space to decorate with flags and license plates. Used to be able to walk trusses and joists but the sense of balance is shot to hell. Parts of this gettin older not what it’s advertised to be.
Hi Mark, great to see the progress coming along! 😃 ( Any chance you could straighten the camera out for the next..... they are all now tilted a little over to the left..... right?! ) 😕
You sometimes make reference to the 'band' sawmill at the far end of your structure. Does it offer some advantages to sawing lumber over the 'wheel' sawing? Also, why not cover your edger sawing unit rather than leave it outdoors exposed to the elements? And, once again, another great video ... keep up your good work for our viewing enjoyment.
@@oldtireman4665 There appears to be no additional space for the edger saw under the new roof. Maybe Mark and Eddie are planning to construct new floor space and roof for the edger ... hope so. Hate to see the edger not being restored and unprotected from the elements. Thanx for your reply.
@@petezietzke2735 I’m pretty sure Mark mentioned in a previous video that the addition included plans to bring the edger in out of the weather. Given the investment in restoring the mill, it would be foolish to allow the edger to rust away not to mention you have to have one.
Could easily install a heater core and fan assy in the cab and tie into the cooling system on the Detroit. Run a circuit off the bus motor fused with a switch in the cab to turn the fan on/off.
Nice roof to keep Eddie dry....now you'll need a roof over the edger, lights, windows, an extra sawdust bin just for non-horse bedding, darkness to see the lazer line, better rollers to sort the wood so Eddie doesn't have to lift them................
