I cant believe we've made it this far!! In today's video, we are finally able to fit up our front end and see what it all looks like. Today is a massive test to see if our front end rebuild actually work. If we can get our GTS Street cup fenders, front bumper, and carbon fiber bonnet to all line up, we can start finishing this rebuild!!

I believe(could be wrong) the GT4/RS caymans have a piece that goes between the Hood and front bumper. Which is why that gap is there.
They definitely do
There is a small vent from the front radiators.
I was going to mention this. It is a carbon trim piece that acts like a hood air intake.
@@KeiferdrivesI figured it was a small vent. But wasn't sure if it was that or a bezel trim piece or seal or something.
I thought I’ve seen carbon pieces on some but didn’t want to say it and have just imagined it lol. I’m sure he will find a carbon one for it.
That hood definitely needs partial paint and a graphic and I think you’re missing a trim piece for the bumper that will close that hood gap.
Hi Dustin, that gap between the hood and bumper is normal, it is part of the design, and there an accessories to be put on it.
RWB cayman would be crazy
Don’t forget to replace airbags module!!
When you paint the hood, paint just the middle part of it like how they come on the Weissach pack of the gt4rs
Don't forget the sas air bag control module. Get that shipped and reset too.
I might be wrong but, I’m almost certain you’re missing a trim piece. Most sports cars put random trim pieces between the gaps to keep wind noise down. Specially on most European cars. All my Benz’s have it.

I love this episode so much. I was hoping that you were gonna make basically a "GT4RS at home" (but in a good way, lol), and that's exactly what you're doing! I can't wait to see it painted and together. Please say you got the GT4 swan neck wing for it too... I know I'll just have to wait and see probably, and that's fine. This thing is gonna be so SICK when it's done!!
You've kinda make it a semi-Weissach Package car with that hood, lol. Just need the carbon swan neck wing to complete it!
Alternatively, you could do matte PPF on the hood instead of having them re-clear it. Dry carbon look + extra protection on one of the most important parts of the front end as well.
Matte carbon hood with matte carbon vents to match would be absolutely perfect. Plus matte for any of the other carbon bits you add.

Ive never been a big Porsche guy, but im really excited to see this thing all buttoned up, man what a find... All of it, the car the front tub, the bodykit. These episodes cant come out fast enough

And I don’t if your going back white or not but I think you should leave the Hood Carbon!!! Maybe do the Matte Finish but definitely not painted!!! Great Series!!! Matte dry carbon stripe down the middle between those two ridges and the rest painted would look hot.
I get the sense that this is going to be the next giveaway. I remember you and Tiana, a few months ago, talking about how the next 2 giveaways were going to be insane. One was going to be Dustin's car (the FK8, but that wasn't announced until later) and the other was just supposed to be an insane giveaway. Regardless, the series has been great! My favorite on the channel in a while! Not because of the car necessarily, just because of the depth, style and detail of the videos.

‘Dry’ carbon is not a reference to the glossy or matte finish. It is whether the hood was made with dry pre-preg carbon fiber cloth or wet carbon and resin layup.
This build has been amazing to follow. Your videos are by far my most favorite to keep up with.
For me, the best project build you did in terms of rebuilding work, type of car, brand, customization, perfect dude. Thumbs up from Portugal!

As for the gap in the bonnet if new hinges ain't doing it, I think there's might be a lip/mounting plate/shroud whatever you name it is on top of the front as well along with maybe a rubber strip or something that then connects to the bonnet. No expert, just sharing my thoughts. it might even be visible in the footage of picking the car up. Cause something black sits near it.

Literally think some of the best content out there (for me at least), rebuilding cars. I've been on a Copart motorcycle kick. Would love to see more people doing copart cars and turning them into race cars/project cars. Awesome content!

Can always get the hood done with a matte PPF film, it’ll give you the matte look and protect the carbon from the sun and rock chips
