I love the idea of keeping track of hours, finances, tools used, etc. That's one of my biggest complaints about "DIY" stuff on UA-cam. They act as if everyone can do it, and then they're using a $100k CNC machine or something. Your transparency is excellent, and as a reward I'll gladly use your affiliate links when I need to get something off Amazon.
Congratulations on the play button and can’t wait to watch many of hours with the Porsche. As it sat in the snow for so long. Call it “project defrost” where you remove the ICE. Internal Combustion Engine.
Don't you just LOVE our weather? On April 11th we had 80 degree weather. On April 12th, SNOW!! Never seen such crazy weather in my life. Glad you're able to get back to building EPIC cars again.
Congratulations on your first silver UA-cam button! Well deserved. Looking forward to seeing you rip that crummy ICE out of the Cayman. Do what Porsche seems frightened to do: make a proper EV of it!

I was brought here by your work on Jerry's hummer, but sticking around for your next builld. Your videos are very calming and can't wait to see how this project goes.
I'm surprised you don't have it on jack stands... I'd think that getting to those nuts/bolts n the fenders would be a LOT easier with the wheels at full droop and you being able to rotate them without having to turn the steering wheel. But of course, it'd make it take longer to roll in/out of your shop so that might be a factor... To each their own! 🙂 It'll be fun watching this project; like many others, I'm a carryover from Zack's channel and I'm glad to have found your stuff from him!

definitely following. I want to do a conversion of some sort, but have been leaning towards a miata. I actually have a 981 Cayman with 80k miles, but I'm not sure I could talk myself into converting it.
In case anyone hasn't experienced this... the exhaust from a grinder (the sparks) can embed into a paint job. You won't see is until later and you may wonder what or how these micro rust blooms are now all over your car? They will also freckle your rearview mirrors and windshield.
Very informative disassembly, the amount of technology that car has is amazing. Fingers crossed you get it running electric and get a good deal out of it!

Hi, Jeremy…great project! There are quite a few ways to add subscribers and revenue to your channel if you want to take the time…you’ve got an innovative and unique subject that a lot of folks would follow. Glad to see you got the silver UA-cam plaque…you deserve it!

I am wondering if the front end got tweaked a little with yje left side damage. A frame shop can check it, but multip;e measure points can be taken to check alignment.
Thanks for being transparent and sharing the financial side of things. Some name suggestions: Poorsche (since it’s salvage and just about everyone pronounces it wrong like “porsh” anyway) Spicy VW Snowflake ❄️ ElekAuto
Funny thing about that headlight retainer, VW used a similar mechanism on the A5 Beetle (2011-2019)... It's kinda nice, until it gets all crusty from Winter.
I just love how those Porsches are designed and put together. It all makes sense and very well built. I'm currently rebuilding the body of a '73 Porsche 914. Still haven't decided what type of power plant to run; stock 2.0L T4? M96 H6 3.2L from a Cayman? Electric? Looking forward to the next video!!
Very interested where this goes. I was looking into converting a 718 with a Model S rear drive unit. I am trying to determine if the Tesla drive unit will fit without modifying the body.
