How to Cook a CHICKEN in the INSTANT POT VORTEX PLUS 10 ROTISSERIE Toaster Oven

  • I PERSONALLY BELIEVE THIS MAY BE WHAT IS CAUSING ROTISSERIE DRIVE DAMAGE AND BREAKING OF DRIVE SPINDLE AND GEAR... AND WHY YOU SHOULD NOT USE A 5 POUND CHICKEN ... I CLEARLY SHOW WHY ANYTHING BIGGER THAN A 4 LB CHICKEN IS TOO BIG IN THIS VIDEO!!!
    This is a 4 Pound chicken (Which was almost too big!) using the rotisserie function and a wireless Thermometer called a Meater which works perfectly with a rotisserie set up because with no wires connecting it to the base you can insert it in the rotating chicken. Also please note at 12:45 the thermometer shows 154° briefly because I inserted Thermapen through to the open chest cavity of the bird...the meat was not that temp...thanks for stopping by to see "in the kitchen with Jelly007" !!!

    I defied all odds by cooking a 4.25lb chicken and it went all the around just fine. Yes, you have to tie the wings and legs pretty well. Also, just FYI the company must have updated their table because now the times are 55-75 min at 380.

    Thank God you mentioned tieing up the chicken. I just learned a better way of tieing knot so it doesn't loosen up. I use a meat themometer after I open door but go to 185 or so, still very tender and juicy. Because at 165 some of breast and dumb sticks were a little bloody. It wasn't burnt on the outside, but nice and crispy. Absolutely amazing and delicious! That's just my opinion though. That's with my Baby George Foreman Rotisserie. Season salt is good on anything, but if you go to most grocery stores. Go to where they make rotisserie chicken or meat department and ask about the seasoning. They'll sell you some at a reasonable price.

    I tested my oven, it’s 23-25f cooler than the oven setting, yet my Vortex air fryer is 45-50f hotter than the setting. The moral of this.. Test the food temp!!

    I tried a Cornish Game Hen but rotisserie kept shutting off so chose to bake instead. Not sure why shutting off unless a sensor can tell if part of bird touching base

    • @JohnSanders
      @JohnSanders  3 роки тому +1

      You have to get the chicken centered almost perfectly and must be secured very well... if it contacts the top or bottom of the oven cabinet it can destroy the drive unit... I recommend nothing bigger than a 3.5 pound chicken to be safe...a 5 pound will not fit... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
