How often do we clean it?
That will sort of depend on what sort of area you live in/conditions. Typically every 15k-20k miles; some will say more some might say less. In normal driving conditions its easy to just check it and clean it once a year. If you drive in really dusty conditions all the time you'll probably want to clean it more often.
what about for the non foam filters that i got with my perrin cold air intake?
For most filters it’s the same process, the major difference is that you won’t use any oil. You can still use a mild cleaner and go through all the same steps just don’t apply any oil to it.
You can find dry-flow filter cleaning kits the same as you can get foam filter kits as well.
