      And not long after The Deep End bs "doc" came out, comedian Whitney Cummings was on JRE, talking shit about Teal, based on said "doc", and she even said something to Joe like,
      "I bet this woman (Teal) would love to be on your podcast."
      To which Joe, who was enjoying Whitney Cumming's Teal Swan shit-talking, replied,
      "I'm sure😏."
      So.
      As much as I've enjoyed a lot of Joe's podcasts, *he doesn't get it.
      At least not yet.
      And neither do a lot of his listeners and friends/guests, apparently.

    The interviewer is clearly an avoidant 😂
    I love how Teal Swan is so real and authentic and acknowledge the pain and trauma and how it changes someone, instead of invalidating their experiences and saying “ it’s a story you tell yourself” I love it when people show their humanness ❤

    • @Seamannon
      @Seamannon 27 днів тому +9

      I agree. We need to be seen in order to heal.
      The reactions of the interviewer were dissapointing, especially when he said that he doesn't understand why someone can't move on from their trauma after 7 years and he even judged it as not a big enough trauma... "at some point you just gotta drop the box" - that was painful to hear.
      She already said early into the talk, that people need to experience being considered by others and he just said "wonderful", like he just wanted to move on again without much understanding for that concept.
      That is the answer to that question that came up later - "why can't people just move one finally?" - obviously, because they are being invalidated instead of considered by others, the very basic need of understanding, compassion and consideration by their loved ones wasn't met. It's not something they can just drop or do completely on their own. We are social creatures after all and our inner circle has to consist of people who are trustworthy, compassionate, capable of considering the needs of others and offering help to meet those needs. Otherwise there is no moving on.
      The only moving on we can do in a situation when we are not considered by the people that are closest to us, is to get away form those inconsiderate people who don't want to understand our perspective, who don't want to help us overcome the problem or change themselves to be more compassionate, because they showed us that they shouldn't even be in our inner circle in the first place if they add to our suffering instead of actively helping us to overcome it.
      Everybody needs to feel loved. If we are in pain and the people we love ignore us in our pain or add to it, then we stop feeling loved. If we feel unloved and disliked for a long time then the connection is broken. We can cling to our memories of being loved in the past and trying to cope with a situation that's not good for us, or we can look for other people to build more positive relationships with.

      Of course you like the easier answer lol. It's the same thing fat people tell themselves when they don't want to work out and diet. "It's my genetics not because it's my fault and I'm eating bad." The fact that YOU PREFFER and even celebrate a diagnosis that removes any control or responsibility you may have sais ALOT about your character. I would HATE and even REJECT a diagnosis where I had absolutely no control or ability to change my circumstance. I WOULD NOT embrace it. That's ABSURD. These are the same types of people that blame government for their outcomes.

    • @Swedensureiscold
      @Swedensureiscold Місяць тому

      @@helenswale2053It's very uncomfortable to face, come to understand and integrate the parts of you that you have disowned, because you "put them away" for a good reason in the first place.
      To bring them back threatens connections that were gained or maintained by rejecting those parts of yourself. I get why you wouldn't want to even acknowledge that they exist or need any of your love or attention for that specific reason. Yet I hope that people can see how that is self abandonement.
      This type of inner work, integration of the "shadow", can be very scary, uncomfortable, challenging etc, however it does lead to actual improvement.
      This other type of positive focus, affirmation, law of attraktion (not that there is anything wrong with these things as part of a bigger toolbox) type of spirituality may seem really comfortable and fun and all kinds of wonderful at first, but how do you know that what you manifest, all the cars and houses and clients are really what you actually want, if you are coming from a space of fragmentation and trauma?
      Yes you can do a lot of things by force and effort and by pretending and selectively identifying but how do you know that the result that comes from that is good for you if you won't even get to know yourself first?
      Just my thoughts on the matter.

    I think the problem with “dropping the box” is that it doesn’t disappear. That box full of and made out of yourself has now been cut off, disowned, and abandoned by you. You’re essentially saying these are the parts of me have no worth and anyone or anything with those qualities will also get your cold shoulder and be thrown at you unendingly until you choose to see them.

      Its doable. Its necessary.. Its so worth it. You are. We are. We can take it, and we will totally grow form doing so 💖🌟

      Yes! I use something like "Beautiful selfishness" - altough i mostly use a Czech version since that´s my first language. But yes, there is nothing wrong with selfishness i believe, to me, it just means realising and accepting that I really do seem to be the most important person in my life and acting accordingly.
      It has nothing to do with acting like an asshole or without concerns for others.
      As i see it is, the word has a negative connotation and one can blow that connotation off more easily than blowing out a candle.

Their existence no longer bothers you because you know how to deal with them and the gift they bring along.

    My big breakthrough spiritually came when I realized that we are here to be direct experiencers of reality, but ego is inherently a perspective of comparison and requires us to zoom out, and thus, when we engage our egos or they get out of hand, it short-circuits our ontological direct experience perspective. So for me it became no longer about trying to heal trauma/fragmentation (because that is so so messy and there are so many parts), but instead, concentrating on the actual line of consciousness and CORRECTING it, learning to hold it steady and prevent it from going into the 'zoom out' stage and start comparing myself as a body that accomplishes things directly to other bodies that accomplish. Worrying about all of my various parts and aspects was sort of a dead-end trail for me. Also, worrying about cosmology/God and past lives is just a snare in the end.

    I have listened to many of her interviews and I feel like she has some very interesting perspectives worth considering, but the more I watch her, the more exhausting it feels. She reminds me of people like Jordan Peterson, whom I also enjoy listening and reading from. However, their minds are constantly branching out into the next perspective, constantly reasoning, playing with words, looking for different view points, which is fun, and existential. But after reading or listening to people like them, I then realize that I rather keep it simple and surrender like what Lao Tzu said all along… Stop searching and you will be seen, Stop running away and you will be found, Let the mud settle so you can see the water, Life is full of spontaneous changes, let things flow and stop swimming against it, embrace life as it is. I do think all become a little mad before getting to that point of surrender 😂

      I relate to it being mind boggling sometimes! I've been listening to Teal for years and used to have to pause her videos several times through watching them just to get my head around it, as her teachings are so profound when you really understand them. Whilst she's always adding more and going deeper, the core pillars of her teachings remain the same, but she unpacks them in different ways to help different people understand them. She does encourage her followers to focus on/work on applying just one of her teachings at a time to get the most out of it. You definitely have to be in the right mindset to digest her work X

      @@RiverstoneSHC I appreciate and enjoy her perspectives but I don’t idolize them or consider them teachings or anyone a teacher/guru. Our inner guidance and intuition is our highest source of information. I see her as another person with some interesting perspectives that I can take from or not depending on my path. I am past that mindset of being a follower to any “teacher”. I hope more people know how great they already are, and they already have the answers within them.

    Forgiveness is being able to in one's own heart, wish someone who has hurt them well in spite of what they have done or not done. This may manifest in different ways, for example prayer of good will for them when there is no contact either immediately after the offense, or after healing has taken place.

    • @Seamannon
      @Seamannon 27 днів тому

      Exactly.
      Yet so many people confuse that with just getting back to the relationship as it was, which is no healing at all. It happens a lot in toxic families, where people victimiser eachother and instead of trying to solve anything, they only try to guilttrip the victim into obedience by asking over and over "why can't you just forgive that person? move on already, it's old news" and then they reverse the scenario and act like they are the victim, when the person who was intitially hurt by them actually moves on and lives a more distant life.
      I've been there. I wish everybody who hurt me well in life, I wish them to heal and be happy, but I don't wish to subject myself to their abuse anymore. I'm done, I want to find people who are able to treat me better and give my energy to them. I want to be respected, understood and considered. If somebody doesn't want to treat me with respect, understanding and consideration, then we don't have to see eachother. I want to be considerate of my own needs. I want to be able to function in life, not to disrespect myself by interacting with you before you are ready to take accountability for the pain you caused and before you are ready to treat me the way I need.

    Some people stay stuck in their protectors never mind how much trust you inspire in them and how vulnerable you are with them. They will always perceive you as a threat and devalue you and your efforts until they discard you. Kindness becomes manipulation and love vulnerability and honesty becomes “un-manly behavior” and asking for reciprocity becomes clinging and dependency…. So on and so forth. How to deal with that? What if you’re someone who has a kind of personality disorder? Making them feel that they can trust you will always have drawbacks… they want that in you and they reject it and devalue it at the same time

    Teal has been speaking on this selfishness idea for 10 years now. Wouldn’t you rather feel good by making others feel good, or feel good by making others feel bad? One is selfish, and the other is not. It’s selfish when you’re the only one feeling good.

    The guy really has a concept of himself that is absolutely untrue. He doesn't understand profound psychological and spiritual things. "Drop the box" is avoiding. You can';t say- I live here and now, decide to drop the box. It's not within your decision. That's why most of coaches are avoiding masters. Teal great as usual.

    It appears to me that the trauma box mining's best purpose is finding ways to get into flow.
    When I hit my flow state, my ideas about me disappear, trauma, do wants don't wants do needs don't needs, all of it.
    The flow state I experience often includes others, people are one of a kind and blow my mind! It can happen while I'm mining my trauma too!! One of a kind, sometimes I forget that cuz of trauma patterns, I've had to find mining tools for my resistance because I like treasure hunting, even when it sucks.
    The gift we each have is so important, even if it's being GRUMPY, or avoidant, we get to choose what we like around us. If grumpy and avoidant isnt flowful I get to look at why and choose my flow, sometimes a good rant about it includes flow too.
    Like how bizarre it is that's someone is swearing at me because I'm not wearing a bra, I had a 3 page journal rant about that because I didnt say anything I just walked away. But DAMN I was totally in my flowful glory holding my pen!
    I love diving off the 3 M board, I want to do the 5, some folks will never want that AND STILL THEY HAVE A GIFT that is theirs alone to give.
    These 2 are co creating from the same place, what I adore is that his hat looks great with her outfit, like they fit together ❤️

    I would really appreciate some perspective on this thought around 15:30 where Teal says that rather than eat food to self soothe, asking whether we need to go outside or talk to someone... How are either of those different in responding to anxiety (or any emotion)? Those are all found outside the self, and none of them really seem to solve the issue, only replace the current feeling with another feeling... Am I missing something?

    • @Seamannon
      @Seamannon 27 днів тому +2

      Binge eating or other unhealthy self-soothing behaviours are just coping mechanisms that keep you in a toxic place. Going outside is reconnecting with the broader world and interacting with it in a healthier way. Talking to someone can help us to find help to address the issue, or it can help us heal when we feel understood and loved. Of course "talking to someone" is not just talking to anyone, we need someone we can trust, who is understanding, kind, who can listen to our problem and help us solve it, who actually wants us to succeed. We need someone to really be vulnerable with and who can reciprocate, we need an ally in our struggles. Life is not about sitting all by yourself and meditating or doing everything by yourself. We need to be connected in order to be healthy.

    • @nyu3492

    • @sokoli3253
      @sokoli3253 Місяць тому

      Focus or discipline is not meditation or relaxing in being. This is how I understand it.
      But focus or action is the language of our dimension so is needed but being is the opposite of action so always go back to our true nature.
