Another great how to video. The Topdon looks a great machine, but as a home mechanic, I can't yet justify the price to my Mrs. Some day when shes not looking I will get one. I saw your unboxing the other day, I did not realize how much the Snap On machines cost to keep updated. It's like a second mortgage.

Yeah I’m well impressed tbf , I’ve been using it all the time now to give it a decent test and haven’t once had to grab the snap on yet.. it’s done everything I’ve needed so far , it’s impressive for the money! We a seriously considering stopping paying for the snap on shortly .. bloody dear at £100 a month just to keep it updated isn’t it!
Excellent video. My only additional tip would be loosely fit the injector pipe before tightening the clamp just to make sure it's in the right place!
Great step by step video pal THANKS! i've get a blowng injector & been told it's the seal but my £20 code reader showing glow plug codes. I also have a mass airflow issue with orange engin light on, juke ran fine before injector issue but couldn't enable cruise control. Thanks again pal👍

What can we do?
Is there a better alternative injector to fit in ? Just after completed the 5 yr warranty time, I suffered 2 burnt injectors in 6 months with only 21,000 km . Unreliable car Duster II diesel of 2018, not fuel issue.

Also I have a Renault Megane 3 1.5 dci 110hp. My problem is that at first start after a minute the engine tends to stall and shakes very badly. After 5-10 minutes, when it warms up a bit, the engine runs normally, without any hesitation until the next day at the first start. Please give me an idea what it could be.

Is nr1 cylinder not the one closest to the front of the engine?

My QQ gave me trouble, I got merged on the side of the road, the car went to the shop and replaced the N2 injector, gas pipe and interculer tube.
Now I notice that on the journeys I make on the day by day, that instant consumption that comes out of the car is higher. It's gonna be something to do with the parts that have been replaced or something to do.
Very hard to say without looking , you really need to get it booked in to check
Just to make sure the injectors numbers start from the gearbox side on these number 1 being the gearbox side number 4 being the cambelt side
Yeah should do mate , best way to make sure would be to disconnect one and turn the ignition on .. see what number it logs a fault with.. if you are unsure

Thanks for video. If the central stop lamp is not working , is this an mot failure?
Since led units come out it an odd ruling.. If it’s not working at all it’s a pass with advise, if it works but less than 50% is lit it’s a fail .. more than 50% working is a pass

My car has fault code p0204. That's the same fault but in 4th cylinder.
Measuring injectror resistances shows that 1.2.3 injectors are ok but 4 not ok.
I want to ask you if you know:
-Can I change like you only one injector without any problem?
Local service shop told me that is dangerous to do that and engine needs all 4 new injectors to work fine.😏
- One faulty injector means that other 3 injectors will follow soon being faulty too?

Yeah they are right in that the others are likely to fail but obviously it’s a massive cost difference .. you can just change the 1 injector without any problems .. these injectors are mega common but on fail electronically most of the time

It is but they are very delicate and you need to be mega careful
@@diydaly thanks. I bet out it with adjustable pliers but no luck hahaha. Need a bench vice. But did clean away the dirt and did my best to get carb cleaner in them. Also dumped some cleaner in the tanks. Got it kinda sorted but I think the injector does need to be replaced. Thanks again for the vid. And that clip on the back of the pipe is a pain in the arse hahaha, not sure I even got it back on in the right spot, really tight to get at

yeah it will definitely need coding mate, they dont run very well otherwise

Nice vid dude! Will the OPDON ArtiDiag600S Car Diagnostic OBD2 Scanner, be able to show the injector codes - and can they be changed like you have? I have an Xtrail and the injectors could be in the wrong order.

I came across this after replacing no.2 on my megane 3 (same engine) I now have a ticking/knocking between 2-3000 revs? Car drives fine but has this annoying 'knock at that rev range.
I had to drive a bit of distance to get the new injector coded as no garages near me could do it for sometime! Hopefully this did not cause an issue. Could it be air?
I do not think! its mechanical, but could it be possible they coded the wrong injector? it was a ford garage i took it to.
More than likely the injector , they can be abit knocky if not codes , usually they will adjust over time , but I’d say it’s diesel knock that your getting

Do you also need to replace the o-rings for the return pipe as well as the high pressure pipe?
You can usually get away with reusing them mate
Can i put all this together and just ask a garage to code the injector as i dont have one of them machines
Yeah I’d tried find a garage that will do the coding before you do the job though! Not all garages will do just the coding for you

Hi , are you 100% certain they are coded to the correct cylinders? There’s now really too much that gets disturbed otherwise to cause and issues .. recheck the codes on the injectors against the codes stored in the ecu.. rough running at idle is a common symptom to incorrectly coded injectors
I've seen it before sometimes the engine needs a good drive so the ECU can reajust the other injectors. I'm not Sure if the 1.5 DCI once the injectors are worn fully they just throw the code and fully fail

Hi mate. I changed Cylinder 4 Injector with a refurbished one. I coded it correctly. It’s running rough with not much power. The fault code I’m getting now is P0272 fuel Injector Calibration. ( Injector 4) Diesel Exhaust Fluid. What you recon that could be?
Have you tried disconnecting the injector you replaced , Turing it over then reccmhecking the fault codes to confirm it’s 100% the correct one for number 4?
@@diydaly Yh I made sure it’s the correct Injector. I even had it tested and it came out faulty

It fascinates me that even something relatively simple like an injector requires coding. What would happen if you didn’t code the new injector?
Seems to be the case with the modern stuff I’m afraid mate ha , there’s a good chance it won’t run very well
First car i’ve worked on that needs coding, last one was 61 plate mini one. Should be so much more simple. Great video this one

How much does it cost
Will vary massively depending on labour rate / quality of injector but as a guide price I’d say around £300
