You can not get anymore American than the Nelsons. Ricky always was a Star and a gentleman, even through all the Garden Party era he always took the higher road. You can see his sons inherited his great traits. Thank y’all. 100% RESPECT. 👍😎✌️
My older brother’s first girlfriend’s name was Marylou. We all loved Ricky and the Nelson family in our humble home. Your dad would be so proud of you guys. Thanks for keeping his music alive. ❤️🇨🇦
I was in a Road Band years ago and we got to do three shows opening up for Ricky in the summer of 1980 so to see his two sons performing hello Mary Lou is a really special thing to me
My heart was empty when Ricky Nelson died.so very young.he had more music to give the world.thanks to his twin sons, his music is being carried on.love to both and keep on playing good music for all to hear.
Mathew and Gunner,Your father would be very proud of you guys.So glad you're still in music! I remember you guys in a class we took together years ago.You guys played a song for our class. That night you guys went on the Jonny Carson show. Best Wishes.Chris
My dog was from Alabama and her name was Mary Lou. She was a sweetheart! Cancer got her. Shes on the mantle and I play Ricky often, just for her. Thank you guys. 💖
Wow, I haven’t seen these guys sing fir so many years. It is great to see them again. I was a huge fan of their dad, and it’s great to see them carrying on his legacy.
Like many, I grew up in the 50s and 60s, and the adventures of Ozzie and Harriet were one show we never missed. I loved it when Ricky would sing. I still play his music.
The Ozzie and Harriet show was their grandparents show. They were always wholesome ppl showing daily life themes. Rick Nelson got his start playing himself on that show and was one of my earliest memories as a young boy. When he started his band he was highlighted on TV programs and that was my only exposure to his music besides listening on am/fm local radio stations. His music was inspiring as a New sound that was fresh and creative. Country Rock became my most favorite music . Their family if alive would be very proud of them.
I got to meet them both at the Elvis B-Day bash in Wisconsin in 2014. I was playing bass behind all the tributes. Nice guys!! Met and saw their Dad many times in the Seventies. Awesome!
I got to see Ricky Nelson at Twin Towns and what a fantastic show it was and he still was a very handsome man . And not long after he did that show here in Australia he died sadly in that plain crash . How lucky are we to have his Twin Boys singing their Dads Hit songs .
My maternal grandmother loved Ricky Nelson, and loved the song," Hello Mary Lou". " Granny" would play it for us sometimes when we would go visit her. Then, Granny was tickled pink when I asked for a Nelson cassette tape for Christmas. Between Granny and my folks I sure did get my casette tape for Christmas, lol! Also, I heard that Gunnar gave his heart to the Lord. I hope it's true. I hope and pray that Matthew knows Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, as well. Jesus loves you with an everlasting love! ❤
I had no idea he had twins! They look exactly like him, especially from the side. Thank you for this wonderful treat, we all remember the Nelsons so fondly.
Remember so clearly you watching Ozzie and Harriet and I couldn’t wait to see if Rick was going to sing for the show. I was so disappointed if there was a show with no song. He may have been one of my first crushes. Of course he was gorgeous, but I also loved how his eyes just closed slowly, and I knew he was into the song. There is nothing else like siblings singing together. What a wonderful sound you guys have and you honor your father by singing his songs and doing it so well. I’m glad you guys went into music. Thanks for the treat here.
My name is Mary Lou, born in '66, named after my mother's best friend. I usually sing thr first line or two of this song when I meet people to help them remember my name.
I was young when your father died. But, I remember all the music from that era. We had lunchtime sockhops in the gym. We danced in our socks as street shoes were not allowed. Now in my 70’s I still love that music.
i am a Huge Rick Nelson fan , saw him in 1985 and i near passed out when he shook my hand , aside from being a Beatle /Stones maniac and musician and a Huge James Burton fan the best music video in the entire world , a video that sends chills down my spine if the 2005 video with Gunner and Mathew and James , i can't come up with words to describe how much i love that video
I was a youngster when your father did the song. I also loved watching him and your grandparents, uncle and dad on TV. Ricky was just so cool even when he was still a kid.Garden Party in later years was really was an incredible statement and the words were from the heart and really said what his feelings were. I mean come on, A Garden Party. What a perfect way to call a concert at Madison Square Garden.
OMG! I was a huge fan of Matthew & Gunner in the 90’s! It’s great to see them again. I remember the day their dad died. At that point in life I didn’t really understand the significance of the tragedy. I was 12, but I clearly remember mom was very upset.
Saw their dad at the Orange County Fair back in the early 80s. Even though I was only 19, I knew Ricky’s songs. Tried to bring my girlfriend at the time into the show but she wanted to be with her friends. I knew I’d get her back. Let her go and took a hold of one of her friends hands and drug her in and got right up to the stage. Great show. I can really see Ozzie in them. Hear him too. I’m only four years older than they are, crazy. I still watch reruns of the shows. That Norman guy looks a lot like the Pastor of our church who loves guitars. Pastor Bill Welsh of Calvary Chapel Refuge in HB.
I don't remember but I was either in the kindergarten or First grade, daddy was in the service serving in the pentagon. A looonnng time agoo. This was playing constantly but my babysitters' name was Mary Lou. I was so in love with her. I know she probably hated me before we changed song. But I still love him and his music. Thanks for re exposing us to it. 💜💜💜💜
Very cool to see Ricky’s sons playing guitars! One of my favorite covers of this song was done by “The New Riders of the Purple Sage” aka: NRPS, it was done in the early ‘70’s. They did a kind of mix of Californian Country Rock with Greatful Dead overtones. ( Garcia played pedal steel guitar on their first album)
Rick was a favorite of mine, it started from theFamily TV show. My wife and I got to see you both and James Burton at Casino Rama, was blown away by your inherited talent. We got the DVD, and found that it was only a little while after releasing the video you took it on the road. James was just as outstanding not missing a lick. That show brought us both just a little closer to the Nelson's ❤
Once upon a time, owning an american made musical instrument was a pipe dream for those of us living outside the USA. They were the best sounding, best looking, coolest item on the planet.
Great stuff...Pretty much every aspiring band has had a crack at Mary Lou, because it is a good band song to play. People dance, the ultimate accolade! We did.
I liked their rock band! They are so adorable!! I was a huge fan of Ricky, and I cried the day he died. I was 16 years old, sitting at the dinner table with my family. I have 2 uncles who looked a lot like Ricky Nelson, so I felt like he was family......

I would like to add, my enjoyment of this music has less to do with Rick Nelson (as he was before my time), and more to do with Nelson and their enthusiasm for the music and just life in general!❤❤
I love Ricky Nelson have a lot of his music on my playlist I was supposed to have seen him at the Crazy Horse in Santa Ana CA and he passed before that concert never did get to see him

You can not get anymore American than the Nelsons. Ricky always was a Star and a gentleman, even through all the Garden Party era he always took the higher road. You can see his sons inherited his great traits. Thank y’all. 100% RESPECT. 👍😎✌️
Garden party as one of the best lyrics in rock and roll.
"If memories are all I sing,
I'd rather drive a truck"
I just want to clarify the timeline though. Garden Party came out in 1972. The Beatles broke up in 1970.
I remember this song when it was on TV. I was ten years old and I will always remember your father singing this song to ME.
My older brother’s first girlfriend’s name was Marylou. We all loved Ricky and the Nelson family in our humble home. Your dad would be so proud of you guys. Thanks for keeping his music alive. ❤️🇨🇦

I grew up watching Ricky. Loved him and loved his singing. Was so sorry when he was in crash. Broke my heart.
I wish my mom were alive to see this. She named my late brother Richard after your dad. Thanks for sharing this.

Awww. That's sweet. His full name was Eric Hilliard Nelson. Hilliard is Harriet's maiden name
I love your whole family and I miss hearing you guys sing. I have your albums/CDs and I’m so happy to see you here.

My mother started the Ricky Nelson fan club, she still has an amazing collection of letters and other stuff from that time.
Cool. What year did she do that?
Love these fellows, they carry on their Dads tradition.
What a great song this still is. Keep the memory alive of what Rick Nelson contributed to rock music and our culture.

@@MDavidG1 Guitar Center
It was James Burton rocking on the lead guitar in most of Rick Nelson’s old songs. The master of chicken pick in’.
First time hearing your wonderful music played and sung! Love this song!
I love those Gibsons J-200s but they are so expensive, so I bought myself a Gibson G-200. I love it.
