    Whew - I had asked my son how I was supposed to deal with baseboard ending at an opening that has no door trim. I do like option 3 so will give it a try first.

    Awesome work! Now I know how to end my bathroom baseboard up to the 90° tiled wall. Thank you.

    Thanks for this, was really trying to figure out how to terminate baseboard where the wall met the surface of a cabinet that was flush with the wall.

    Do you need a slide saw to do these? Mine bevels both directions but it only goes up and down.

    Those are very easy to glue with the regular glue. All you need is a bit of painters tape.

    Would it be a good idea to back cut when base and casing are the same thickness?

      I usually break the edge a bit to leave a grove where they meet.

    The floor return with the mitre running through the board isn’t the best way to do it. You can still bring the mould around another way by measuring out. It’s a smaller joint and less to fill

    What's the size of the miter saw?

      I don't know if it has a specific name. I'd just call it a floor return. Hope that helps.

    It would have been nice if you had bothered to tell us what angle your cuts were and what you used spray the ends with before you glued them....I'm still in the dark!!

    • @BrentDarlington
      @BrentDarlington  3 роки тому +5

      The saw is set up at 45 degrees to make a 90 degree angle. I used Miter Bond which is a CA glue, basically super glue, on one side and the spray is an activator to speed up the set time. You can use regular wood glue and hold it for a bit or tape it with some masking tape while it dries

    • @Marshall1565
      @Marshall1565 3 роки тому +9

      He said every angle was 45 and it’s common sense on mitres, 45 = 90, 22.5 =45

    I like to just cut it straight and then smear caulk all over the end of it🤷‍♂️

    • @BrentDarlington
      @BrentDarlington  4 роки тому +5

      Do your best and caulk the rest!

    • @mikegwin2924
      @mikegwin2924 2 роки тому +1

      I don’t smear caulk but I do spread a light coat to seal the fibers on the MDF before applying paint.
