I realize this video was made five years ago, but damn you explain this better than any other video I have seen. I have had so many problems ending my baseboard. I understand the concept, but I cannot get that last piece right you were the first person to show how it is actually done on that little return piece, when you move the saw to zero for that last cut. thank you so so much my husband will be happy. I can get my molding finished now. He’s sick of looking at it.
Finally! Someone who explains it straightforward and simple. Good grief there are so many vids out there that make this look way too complicated. Thank you 🙏
Thanks for always keeping it simple. I like your down-to-earth approach. I watch alot of you tube carpenters who just make things too hard. Keep up the good work .
I love the last part.."it would fit tighter on the wall..." NOT as he pushes it together. That cracked me up, thanks for the video however, it took me 20 cuts to figure this out a year ago, and then I forgot what I had done. I like the end return a lot instead of running it directly into say a cabinet.
Thank you for a very clear explanation. I just wasted half an hour trying to figure out a handyman exclamation for a miter return. They made way too many assumptions in their instructions. It was great
Thank you so much I used your video to do some returns on some simple but expensive chestnut backsplash trim in my kitchen and saved me from the dreaded butt ends showing.. Now have a new skill, thanks again. Subscribed
Your vid is one of the best I’ve seen. It’s easy to understand the 1st time watching it compared to others that takes a few viewings. Very nicely done.
Thanks.love the info and and technique...I used to do a bit of trim work and use to just cut the ends at 50 to 55 degrees to give the end a little detail.dudnt look too bad .but this looks waaay better. Thanks again. Can't wait to practice and perfect the return technique.
"S" and "W", you The Man!!! To copy Orden na, "just what I needed to know and understand" but in only under 1 mike, 51 seconds because I am going to use the first example of a return since that is what I prefer. The second example was just as clear and easy to understand as well, and perhaps I shall use the second example "Someday Maybe..." Thank you very much!
Your videos are great! You have somehow found a way to teach me how to get functionality & finish out of my miter saw! 15 years ago I attempted crown molding project at home... long story short after $500 in crown molding & a new saw , I never made the first corner meet, sold the saw & hired someone & that crushed my pride! I just completed a 1200 sq ft renovation at home & have used quite a few of your videos! Any chance you could do something just addressing crown molding?
Hey there! I like your videos... my only complaint is that I watched them AFTER I did some trim work - now I have to peel them back and use this great method for returns! Haha, thank you for posting your knowledge, sir.
Your videos was very helpful four brand new baseboards. Question is there an easy fix for a baseboard already on the wall to fix a return this is an example!! In the dining room there’s baseboard on the wall a small piece to complete the end of the baseboard is still open.
