people have been saying this will be the trend since Beyoncé starting doing it. I think it'll only be for the biggest artists who don't need to work with promo. Kind of like when bands would drop albums only the internet as a power move back when that was an interesting thing to do.
Tyler's right about releasing it at 6am in the week. I remember bumping St. Chroma and Rah Tah Tah on my way to school, and then looping the album 3 times in class until I got sick of it.
If he had a longer rollout he could have sold 500k I dislike Tyler's music but he is a titan in the music industry artist usually do long rollouts for more album sales/merch bundles
I gotta say, when so many major top of the line artists do marketing stunts with private jets and aircraft and other insane shit, it's really refreshing that Tyler hyped up the album with just a semi and a shipping crate. Even with all of his Le Fleur shit and pricey clothing and cars he still has that kinda "relate to the working class" vibe that got him and OF to the top a decade ago.
Last old school rollouts was Vultures and Utopia. Everyone is dropping what seems like surprise albums but really it’s showing more love to the indies and actually giving us a chance to break the glass.
I only recently as in this year got into rap and music as a whole so Chromakopia by tyler and Lone, Borealis by detahjae were the 2 big first albums I got REALLY hyped for and seen the rollout besides death of slim shady and I feel like if I ever drop an album id do somthing like that. Drop a few trailers and teasers 2 weeks before release and then drop it at a convenient time for ppl to listen (so for me since I'm in high school and I want my friends to listen to it like the second school ends)
Another reason i think the rollout was so successful was because of the rise of 'See You Again' both last year and this year. That song was HUGE last year and drove a lot more people to him and his music, while also warming up people who aren't big on hip-hop or rap to become fond of the genre, and be willing to give Chromakopia a listen since they're already familiar with some of his songs.
same goes for uzi and EA2 to be honest. bro just released a visual trailer and announced a date for 2 weeks after... thats mad respectful for a huge artist like him
What in my opinion was so cool about the release being early in the morning on a school day was that I walked into class and me and my friends ran to each other and we all went “CHROMAKOPIAAAAAA” and started yelling at each other about the album. Our school lets us listen to music, but no music with lyrics, and the three of us broke that rule all day to listen to the album on loop. It was so cool to share a release day for an album with my friends. Getting to run into class and talk about it just two or so hours after it released. I dunno I thought the album was really cool and the music is good.
Only reason I let GNX past is bc he did kinda leak it in “not like us” and no I don’t think fats rollouts will be the new trend they need to learn form Tyler the creators bc that’s how you get hype for an album up
I feel like i was the first ever transfem furry to listen to CHROMAKOPIA because i downloaded spotify on my phone to listen to it, and i was FEINDING for it to update and i listened to that shit ASAP.
For a rollout ofc but literally nobody watches music videos, they waste mobile data and are often explicit, completely ruining the music, which is the main focus ofc
That is wildly incorrect, fans of artist’s will dive deeply into every video, many people watch MV’s and it acts as a visual representation of the song.
While I was editing this video, Kendrick surprise dropped his new album “GNX”. Do yall think fast rollouts/non existent ones will be the new trend?
Nah only kendrick could do that successfully
he leaked a song in his announcement video and it never played in the album. I think he has something else planned, maybe a second disc?
@@GRENKIFY a lot of others are theorizing this as well due to the lack of promo that GNX is just promo for another album.
This dude Dot dropped 5 minutes after the announcement 💀

meanwhile kendrick doing a 15 minute album rollout:
Real, lol
Kendrick's rollout started when uhhh the not like us music video dropped
@@jake1766that wasn’t really a roll out, that was a hint to know he was charged, nothing followed, therefore it wasn’t really a rollout
More like over a month
The rollout was 30 seconds or something
tyler announced, promoted and released an album in two weeks while I AM MUSIC rollout started nearly a year before that and is still going on 😭🙏
😂😂
i am music is supposed to drop so he can perform it at rolling loud (I’m delusional)

Tylers way of rollout is perfect, it’s the right amount of anticipation to let you know he’s dropping very soon
If he had a longer rollout he could have sold 500k I dislike Tyler's music but he is a titan in the music industry artist usually do long rollouts for more album sales/merch bundles
He’s actually so real for reading actual feedback and showing support, also this is a really good video.

Loved the video man, I think Tyler is one of the best in the game when ti comes to the build up and the release of his projects
Really good video, the editing is really entertaining and made me think it was a from a rlly popular channel just to see you’re extremely underrated.
Thank you 🫡

RESPECT for having detahjae on your algorithm
Lone Borealis peak
@ bruh yes
Great vid man!

That’s dope ‼️
The thing is Tyler is big enough to do this. Other artists have to promote for months before actually doing a rollout
I'm so glad to have lived through this rollout.

Been waiting for this one🙏🏻‼️ Great video🔥
I agree with Tyler because I listened to the album at school and I sat there and really listened to that shit

These fast roll outs are so hard to keep up with, yet somehow they end up as kings commercially.

Carti need to watch this video so he can hurry is ahh up an drop😭😭😭

Sticky is a banger no one can prove to me otherwise
Kendrick album roll out be kicking ass, going to the Super Bowl and dropping bangers

The Weeknd is the trendsetter.
At least Abel actually releases his stuff on time. That being said, I just want Hurry Up Tomorrow to drop already 😭
@ You and I both, maybe January...
@@bylikethepastry he's been hinting towards that being the case so yeah. Abel my favorite artist ever so I just hope to God January is true
