They have a version that's not the USA that's less expensive (avoiding the word 'cheaper'). And if you want to, you could just get a custom made Whitebox cab with V30s or K100s, or a Marshall cab with great celestions, and that can easily save you at least $1000.
well, 6505 now (5150s only come under the Fender name and are freakishly expensive), and if you've never heard of Whitebox, they make custom cabs for cheaper than most production cabs. The only drawback is probably shipping.
DevinThe242 Last I checked Peavey 5150's still exist, Eddie didn't round them up in a death camp and destroy them when he left Peavey... The video did a terrible job micing the cab but it seems the distorted is voiced like a 5150 so if you're interested definitely look for one of those but don't use a V30 loaded cab, 5150's sound best with something like the G12T's, add a smart gate for like $50 and you've got 2/3 of the features for 1/3 of the price. The thing I'm shocked is how good the cleans are and how good the 2 voicings sound. Eddie and Peavey made one hell of an amp but one thing it does not do is great Vox or Fender tones, and definitely doesn't switch between em like this does... But that probably isn't worth the extra 2k, especially since you can rectify that problem by getting a cheap Fender or Vox combo and an A/B/Y pedal to do the same thing if you so wish Interesting amp, great clean tones, but if that's the price tag there are so many better, cheaper tried and true methods of getting what this offers

I have a Schecter C-1 Platinum FR S. www.schecterguitars.com/guitars/c-1-platinum-fr-s-detail The sustaniac guitars like the Synyster Gates customs are so much fun to play and very comfortable, albeit a bit heavy at 13.3 lbs for my guitar. The Synyster Gates model uses more wood in the body, so I imagine it is probably a bit heavier, probably closer to 14 lbs.
Not even as expensive as a Marshall JCM 800 with the cheapest Marshall 4x12 cab at my local music store. Bout 1k cheaper actually. And a JCM 800 is a 35ish year old amp.

I'm not saying that's how this gate works; it might be a fancier kind that can actually differentiate between feedback and regular notes, but having never played or fiddled with this amp; I don't know the exact mechanism.
Well think of the price point, the 6505 head is 1,200 I think, and the combo is 600. This is like 3,000+ for the USA production model and atleast 1000+ for the stage model. It is a great amp though!

You're better off with a 5150 going into a marshall cab
