Great video. Still getting used to the brushes.. I see u guys use a very aggressive angle. I have mine the other way and drag for my fish swipe. Old squeegee habit. This was the nicest house/driveway/job I've seen yet!! I also finally saw a part ( around the drain ) where I thought sure.you would wash and once again you didn't. Just brush and blow. I guess washing isn't necessary. I'm learning!

I would suggest to the homeowner to pull that driveway run off grate near the house and clean it up and spray a rattle can of black Rust-oleum on it just to make it look nicer. Hey guys great work. I have a question. How do you push the sealcoat with the broom without getting it all over the place. You use a broom not a squeegee? I’ve been in the same line of work for years
That’s how I learned how to sealcoat. We’ve always used brushes. I think brushing is the best way to apply the sealer. It leaves tiny little lines that add traction for the winter months.
I had no idea I could use my weed eater to cut along the grass line that way, I thought I needed to buy a whole new tool. I will be trying this out. Thank you 🙏🏼
Hi there. If you were to rate your jobs which one would you rate as the most difficult of them all in terms of the corners and shape of drive way and any obsticles that made the job challenging
We fill at a fill station. Usually 200 gallons at a time, plus sand and water. I usually have some footage on my UA-cam stories. I will be making a video in the future where I shot how many gallons we use per job. You will be able to count the pumps from the diaphragm-pump.
On the truck; one machines turns an agitator bar inside the tank to constantly mix the materials (sand, water and sealer), the other is an air compressor to pump the sealer through the hose.

Most of the bucket-stuff you get in the hardware stores is pretty similar. Id say the application-method and preparation are the most important. Next year I will be doing some videos with the 5 gallon buckets you get at the hardware stores.

My neighbors who went with cheaper companies have to get there's done every year or 2. They questioned me on why mine lasted so long, he stated to me alot of those cheap companies dilute the seal coating with alot of water, he doesn't. Mine probably would've lasted another year but my neighbor cleans the snow off the driveway in the winter and his bucket scraped it in many places.

Was wondering what percentage of water you guys run in your mix? the company I work for just switched to asphalt emulsion and they are trying to run it at 20% with the same ratio of sand that they used with coal tar and something doesn't seem right about it.

For coal tar, yes. For AE no. I think coal is done indefinitely, only AE from here on out.

Between 25-30. Anything less than that will dry too fast and leave streaks. You could probably do 20% if you were spraying.

I’m in Cleveland, TN just outside Chattanooga. Do you have your own bulk tank of sealer that you fill the truck from or just fill the truck from a supplier?
Supplier. We usually fill every other day. We never go out with less than half a tank (275 gallons).

Just water to help get those final footprints out. Our sealer is water based and it was drying too fast at the end.

Yeah, coal tar is king but it's like the difference between asbestos and fiberglass.

Maybe wear cleats on your boots, so you don’t leave footprints and have to continuously “erase” your footprints? Just a thought. Great work though. First video of this kind that was in my suggested UA-cam feed.
